Just a Little Something for Thanksgiving Weekend

In light of the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday coming upon us, I thought I would share a recipe that came across my inbox last week or so ago.

Those who know me know I do not enjoy cooking. It is not that I can't do it, I just hate it. I do however enjoy cooking the big meals for the grand holiday meals.

This one caught my eye and made me smile just thinking of it.

enjoy.

Here is a chicken recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing - imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out.

Give this a try.

BAKED STUFFED CHICKEN

6-7 lb. chicken

1 cup melted butter

1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.)

1 cup uncooked popcorn ( ORVILLE REDENBACHER IS LOW FAT)
Salt/pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Brush chicken well with melted butter, salt, and pepper.

Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn.

Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.Listen for the popping sounds.
When the chicken's ass blows the oven door open and the chicken flies across the room, it's done.

And, you thought I couldn't cook.........

Guys, I have been trying to read as many blogs as I can, and have had a very busy last few days. I hope to have something to add to my blog very soon. Thanks for all the visits and the prayers. Please bear with me. I do hope to see the light at the end of my tunnel soon.

I almost fell out of my chair with laughter. If you don't mind I want to copy this and send it to my daughter. One of our holiday traditions is laughing about her turkey cooking disasters. Take care of yourself, you're working to much. :)

Hugs,
Chris

You know, I don't enjoy the cooking experience myself- thank goodness for my husband! I have been thinking about you and praying for you- I keep thinking about you having to possibly leave your greenhouse. Is it possible to disassemble it and take it with you if you end up moving? It looks like a great space! Have a great day!!

ROFLMAO!!! My kids are looking at me funny because I'm laughing so hard here at the computer! This is great! But I'm not going to say, "I've got to try this!"

I hate to cook too, and I mean REALLY hate to cook. I'm surprised there hasn't been some sort of kitchen incident of this type! Hehe.
