A Mystery Solved...in the name of contentment therapy

Okay...contentment therapy....come on...come on...you can do this Toots...you can find a good in this day....lets see....
you went 10 rounds with "Mr. Wonderful"...and didn't cry...CONTENT TO BE STRONG... no that's not it....
you did not yell at your "Mother" when she rode in on her high horse again...CONTENT TO HAVE SELF CONTROL....nah...
you found the Christmas gifts that you can give the gang...CONTENT TO HAVE A LITTLE LESS MONEY... nope not that one either....
you found some inspiration to decorate a little bit for Christmas...(was at Blossom's this morning....) nothing great happened here...but I worked at it...CONTENT TO BE CREATIVE....okay..this could work...lets show what I did.... maybe Blossom needs to bring her exotic ribbon over here...this is not that great...but at least it was started...

This is the baby grand piano that I have in the living room....I made up that basket with cinnamon pine cones...can you smell them? smell so good....CONTENT TO ENJOY THE SMELLS OF THE SEASON.....maybe...just seems like there is more...

you turned your back for just a few minutes to start supper for the gang....and when you turned around....
OH DEAR! WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO MY DECORATING???????

I came back into the living room with my camera, all excited to show you all the ideas that I had finally pulled out of my butt this week.....only to find THIS!!!!
OMG!!!!! why is there a case of pop in here? why are my plastic bowls in that shopping cart? Are those paper plates? WHERE did this mysterious vandal get the pine cones to put on them? Why is my basket on the sofa....? (yes I still have this hideous sofa set...for now)
anyone hungry? Those pine cones came from THIS basket...that I had just finished putting together with the berry pics....the tray and the basket are supposed to be on the trunk/table ....wait a minute....is that the vandal's self portrait?..... Oh the HUMANITY!!!!! I am getting seriously ticked off at this point!!!! Not feeling so content anymore...

WHO DID THIS? Well....I can be content that they didn't touch this part...but maybe I should...is that a tag peeking out? lol They didn't get my ceramic skate either...PHEW!!!! I want to know who did this? Where did they go? WHY is it so very quiet all of a sudden? (when it is quiet like this...NO GOOD is going on anywhere...)

My mommy senses are mad...and they are looking for the guilty party responsible for the vandalism of the Christmas decorations........

looking

looking....

looking...
AH -----HA!!!!!
FOUND HER! CRAP!!!! she's too cute to be mad at....okay....lets clean it up....CONTENT TO LOVE THIS FACE....I think this face is guilty enough that I am content not to be mad anymore...lol
Her name is Ashlyn...but is rarely referred to by any other name than "BUSY" need I explain why we call her this?

OMg that has GIANNA written all over it. I am hysterical over here that is the funniest post yet! I can't wait till my sister reads this and I am going to have to show Mark this one. The whole plate thing got me. Gianna has been taking things apart lately and putting them on toy plates and serving them to us. Last night it was diaper rash cream on a dora plate. OMG!!! Too funny! I needed that laugh!

What a great Mom you are. I won't even start on how I would have reacted. LOL See, this is why God doesn't let old cranky people have babies. :) Busy is a pretty little girl, looks like you, now I wonder, were you busy like her when you were a little girl?

Ah no one could be mad at that adorable face and I just love the curls. She is just precious.
Love your decorations, preBusy of course, especially love the ice skate. Also noticed your hand and feet prints on the wall, those are just so precious.

Adorable! She is reason, all by herself, to be content with your life. Look at what a blessing she has and will become, no matter what she does. Sally

Sounds like a typical day around here only my "busy" goes by the name Nicholas. I clean the kitchen before bed and in the morning I come down and it's a total wreck! Six months to the wedding, then finally I can wake up to a clean kitchen!! I keep telling him there's no excuse at his age but I've had to give up the fight. This post was very funny though and she is absolutely adorable!! Love the curls.

Tootsie...Ohhhhhhhhh! She's so cute! And what a great photo! How can you punish someone with a face like that? Impossible! She'll appreciate all the stories when she's older. However, I'm sure you'll appreciate them more when she's older, too! Have a great day...Debbie

I had a great big ol' laugh when I saw Busy's face!!
A positive spin...she is creative and able to entertain herself! She is starting decorating early! ; )
I really loved the basket you had in the first picture! I am feeling so behind...not an ounce of Christmas here, just trying to get through Thanksgiving first!!

I had two Busy Ones. LOL My younger one is still at it. You'd asked about creativity and stress...I suspect you know this, but they go together like olive oil and lemonade. Not very well!
Sometimes "taking a deep breath" just isn't enough.

Writing is an effective way to break through stress. Keeping a journal is a good way to exercise the writing muscle, and to get to the heart of how we feel. It's always a way to vent. I used to write in spiral notebooks from the grocery store; now I do it electronically. You can open a private blog or just write on notebook paper. You can burn it afterward, which is symbolic, a way to let go of stress.

One more thing, make sure you are taking care of yourself. The author Tillie Olsen once wrote that "Women have a knack of sensing the needs of others--and they react to them the way that they'd react to their own needs."
We will go hungry to make sure our love ones are fed. Women will wear clothes that are 10 years out of date to keep our loved ones warm and dry. This is how we are built. So make sure you take care of YOU. The most essential thing is forgiveness. We must forgive ourselves for being human, and for letting stress take us away. Easier said than done. Just remember, it is a work in progress; it's three steps forward, twenty back.

You can childproof but not "Busy" proof, right? Looks like somebody wanted to decorate and have her own Thanksgiving meal! She is so precious, love the curls.

Love the decorating too, especially the Dr. Pepper box! At least it's red and white and Christmasy.

Too cute to be mad at is right... oh how i miss those days!!I must say though, it is not proper to serve just pinecones for dinner, really now can't you find some twigs to go with them?? Have a great day!!!

You guys are just too adorable for words! I knew it was your baby girl as soon as I saw pinecones on the plates! She's a budding decorator!!! Thanks for giggles, I'm still smiling! ☺♥☺

OMG, her hair!!! It's gorgeous!!!!!!! How long did it take you to do THAT?

And your decor is looking beautiful. The Dr. Pepper case adds a bit of festive flair, don't you think? LOL

Now that's what I call a "real" post! I am laughing my butt off! I totally feel your pain. Your little "Busy" is the cutest little thing I have ever saw! You can just tell she is full of personality like her mommy! You are such a good mom to do all this for your kids sake even though you haven't felt up to it.

Awe a 'picture of pure innocence'.

Tootsie,
I know it may be hard to believe now, but one day, one day, you would give your right hand, heck, maybe your right arm, to have that sweet little angel back in your family room fixing a pine cone dinner. I think she just knew it was Tablescape Tuesday! :-) They grow up and leave the nest waaaaayyyyy too soon...trust me on this! :-)

Tootsie, what a sweet little girl, and a heartwarming post. Of course, our love for our children is the ultimate contentment therapy, isn't it? Your home is soooo warm, welcoming and beautiful. (And lived in too, that's the best part of all, because it's in the living that the best memories are made, friend!)
