Cactus --from seed! Can anyone advise me?

This pot was planted on a whim two years ago! I had no idea that Cactus was such a slow growing plant! At any rate...I am super proud to introduce to you the prickly pot that I planted with my own little fingers...
Yea...I watered it and it droops for a day or so....but....the real question here is.....should I be transplanting these? Should I leave it alone? When I re-pot...should I separate?
I am scared to do anything to this little cactus garden....for fear I will kill them. Please help me! I am no expert in all things prickly.....and I usually kill the store bought cactus that I pick up here and there......so I am asking....does anyone know? I am quite certain that one of my fellow bloggers from the wildly informative and entertaining publication..." A Succulent Life" Julie will know EXACTLY what I need to do....maybe I better go get her!......oh...yea...thanks for stopping by...if you have any advice for me....please....be my guest gardener for today!

I don't have any advise...but I have killed cactus by trying to repot and seperate....

If anything I would just plop the whole thing into a bigger pot...good luck!

My advise for the cactus - I have several - is that the more you ignore, the better they thrive. I personally wouldn't hesitate to separate them. I've separated cactus, thrown them away, and then picked it back-up days later after changing my mind and planted it successfully. I think probably more cactus are killed from overwatering than anything else. Good luck! BTW - anxious to watch seed-planting! PAM

Sorry Tootsie, can't help you with this one. I just ignore mine pretty much. I have a nephew that use to raise lots of them.

I would keep it like that.. they don't need alot of water.. as they are used to living in the dessert! And when really dry.. water it!
(like a rain shower in the dessert)

Also likes sugar cubes ;-)
just put it on the top.. and it'll eat it.. slowely but surely!

Oh man, Tootsie, we repotted cactus one time (it was not a small batch) and it was just sooooo painful. We've NEVER touched those nasty critters again!

Have fun with it:)

I just found your blog. I have a cat named Tootsie, so when I found a blog with that name...I HAD to check it out! It's very cute and I will definitely be back. You can see a pic of Tootsie on my blog if you happen to stop by.

Sorry, don't have any advice on the cactus...I am not the best gardener...I'll have to check with my hubby on that one...

I'm certainly not the person to ask - I can kill a cactus just as easily as a petunia!! And I live in cactus country. Take care, Sally

Oh I have bumped off my share of cactus throughout the years. So I am not the one to ask. Just be careful that you don't get stuck! ~ Robyn

Oh goodness, Tootsie! I just found this post! You know, I say you can do anything you want to. Some cactus like to be kinda crowded. You can always seperate them...I move all my plants around all of the time and they are great. No worries. I just use a cactus soil, and all is well. I know you are happy these have grown so well, even though they are so slow moving!!! Good luck!
