Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Sept 25/09

Welcome to Fertilizer Friday! Today is the day we set our calendars for each week. We feed our houseplants and gardens to bring them to their glory!
I just know you all have been outside (and in) feeding those plants to kick them into a full grow and bloom...so please join me in the weekly flaunting of our gardens! Grab my logo above, post your photos of your glorious gardens and houseplants...(or those of another gardener you admire) and link into the Mister Linky below and Flaunt your flowers with me!
Sharing our gardens inspires others to new and wonderful ideas ...and gives us all a little platform to share our hard work/play and show off what nature has blessed us with.
Here's my offering for this week:
That Mandevilla that I have been waiting to open....FINALLY did! (and best of all....there's more to come!)
My "olden junk" corner is overgrown with Silver Swedish Ivy....and the colors on the Mums are just so glorious tonight.
Just look at the fall colors!
Bacopa, Verbena and Lobelia...starting to fade-but still pretty none the less...and the smell of the Verbena is so pretty!
My Rudbeckia is having a bumper year! Just love how huge and bright they are....(boy is that photo blury!)
A petunia that hasn't yet realized that it is fall here in Alberta.
One of my big pots....it is about four feet across now...and is up on a two foot pedestal...and still is touching the ground....still looks pretty good. I cut out the Zinnia that was not looking so good anymore...see what a little fertilizer can do?
Flowering Kale in a pot under the "junk" pile...seems to have escaped the barrage of slugs and caterpillars so far...
Geraniums and Dusty Miller are going strong...
The Hyacinth vine is FINALLY taking some life for me. I hope to keep it alive over the winter in the greenhouse and train it to climb an archway over my desk. (cross your fingers)
My "Blooms for the Cure" rose bush is taking on more buds! I hope this one lives in the greenhouse over the winter as well.
Things are beginning to fade very quickly here. I have pulled 6 beds so far. That means the garbage man is back to hating me...there have been about 15 garbage cans set out for him so far...and that didn't even make a dent yet! You should see the look he gives my house as he drives away! hee hee...
Next week there will be an announcement about Fertilizer Fridays coming...stay tuned for that, and in the mean time...Please take this invitation from me to link in and Flaunt Your Flowers with me! Remember....there is no such thing as an ugly garden!
One last thing. I purchased my domain name last night. I lost my blog list...please check to make sure you are on there...and in my followers. Have a safe and happy weekend!
Now, if you excuse me, I am off to tour your yards!

I love all your flowers. My favorite is the Kale though(-: I usually get some in October to look at through the winter months(-:

Your flowers are still beautiful! Once again, I envy those ornamental cabbages...mine are totally overgrown, and now are twisting toward the light..so convoluted...'
Let's hope we can be frost-free for a while longer...

Tootsie,
Love your flowers and the purple hyacinth vine is one of my favorites...it does really well here in the Oklahoma heat, I swear it grows a foot a day in the summer..kind of like corn...LOL Have a great weekend! Miss Bloomers/Sonia

My flowers are all about gone since we have had so much rain. I already miss them so it is so nice to come here and over at my friend Darlas to get a spring feeling.

You would never know by your photos that fall is here. It looks like mid summer blooms going on in your garden. Must be all the love you infuse with that fertilizer. Have a great weekend!

I don't know.. my stuff is looking pretty UGLY right now .. I have a few things flowering, but mine all faded a long, long time ago. Plus we've had so much rain this past month or so.

You still have so much to flaunt!! Everything looks great. And you have me curious about your FF announcement...

Congrats on getting your domain! You have the My New 30 blog on your list where I post my little bit of garden stuff, but do you ever visit my Deep South Dish blog? That's where I post all of my recipes now.

Have a great weekend!

Everything still looks wonderful at your place. Love all of that color. 6 beds done already? Wow, good for you. The weather here has still be nice. We received some rain today. Next week the highs are going to be around low 60's high 50's. Days are really short. Dark when I go to work and dark again around 6:30. Harder to take photos and work in the beds. I already miss it. Love your blog!!!

It all looks great as usual!
Congrats on the domain name!! My blog is on your list, but the followers gadget isn't there, I'll check back later to make sure I'm on it.

What a show you still have going. Looks like the wait for your Mandevilla was well worth it. Sorry I haven't been around much to read all of your posts that I enjoy so much but working on doing more now that things have slowed down around here with the passing of my Father.
Everything looks great Tootsie.

They are all so pretty, but I think that the flowering kale is my favorite this week.

Wow, girlfriend, your flowers look great! Can't believe you've had to pull out so many beds and still you have so many pretties!
When is your average frost date there? Can't believe it but we haven't even come close to frost yet.
I'm so frustrated because I wrote a post last night and cannot get it to publish. Stupid computers.

Tootsie I had to laugh over again when I read about you 15 cans of garbage- I remember you post last year at this time telling the saga of the garbage men!!

Is it getting cold there? We had snow Mon and it still hasn't warmed up very much- is supposed to have sunshine tomorrow maybe!!

What does having your own blog domain do for you and your blog- curious.

Love the Silver Swedish Ivy- that is some pretty stuff!

How are things going otherwise or minus the garden?

I'm totally ashamed of my pathetic flowers! Your flowers are ridiculously beautiful! What a talent you have.

Oh Tootsie! How I wish I had the sort of garden or flowers to showcase on your Fertilizer Friday...but my yard and patio is just not there yet, plant wise. Nor the yard. One day..but I won't embarrass you buy signing on. I have already done enough to Gollum on her Foodie Friday! Sigh. Some day...perhaps next year!
Your flowers are...ok...lets see...ok..GOT IT! They are like comparing Naps on the Porch to other peoples porches. NOT too many compare! :) Yes, I know it isn't a competition so don't holler at me...:) But I do want something to show...blah, blah, blah, blah! LOL
So...your plants are fantastically beautiful. And by the way...so are your pretty eyes! :)
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Mona

Oh, I love your flower beds and containers! Never seen rudbeckia that color of orange. Now orange is not a favorite color of mine but they are beautiful. If you save seeds from there, I'd be honored to receive some in the mail from you.

Okay, I think I'm missing from your list, but congrats on your own domain!! Woot woot!

Thank goodness you still have flowers to show, or else I might not be able to come here because I'll get depressed.

I love that flowering kale. Just gorgeous!
