Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Jan 22/10

Welcome to Fertilizer Friday!
Fertilizer Friday is the day when gardeners from all over the world join in and share the blooms of their labors!
If you are new to this party...WELCOME!!! If you are a regular...WELCOME BACK! Anyone can post plants of any kind...you are all welcome...the more the merrier!
Now...if you are not familiar with the winter rules here...you will be...since I have ZERO to share...my gardens are bare...I (and other gardeners in similar climates) are sharing our favorite photos from months, gardens, years gone by, or the current indoor gardens and houseplants that they have. Those who have real live beauty to share are doing just that!
I would like to add, that if you are not a fertilizer...you may still join in. The name Fertilizer Friday actually was coined to remind those of us who like to feed our greens, but forget! Fertilizing is not a must...but the flaunting...IS!
So? What are we waiting for? Feed your flowers/ houseplants...gardens...snap some photos, link in and Flaunt with me!
Today I have but one flower to flaunt for you....BUT I do have some shots of my favorite room...almost ready to plant!
This is the 7 year old Geranium that my kids gave to me for mothers day...she is full bloom again...and healthy as a horse...
The shelving is all set up...and the trays and cell packs are ready to fill...
Pots all lined up...and waiting for someone to set some roots...
The heat is on, the fans are blowing...
oops! the water cans are 1/2 empty...but that will change...
The mini blind is ready to be cut into small pieces to make plant markers...(much cheaper and more efficient than wooden labels...)
The soil is thawed..
This is the first four bales of seedling starter mix...I use between 7 and 8 by the time everything is all potted up.
And the best of all?????
MY SEED ORDER ARRIVED THIS WEEK!!!! WOOOOO HOOOO!
Dozens of packages holding hundreds of beautiful seeds...blooms to share and show...to enjoy and admire....
FOCUS TOOTSIE!!!!
NOW...next week is the biggie...on Monday I will officially begin the planting of this year's crop of annuals. But, if I get some time, I will for sure take the opportunity to start a little early...
I have had a lot of projects on the go this last little while, and I have taken a bunch of photos.
I will be planning a big week for next week...including photos of the projects, updates on the planting, AND...A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!
Are you as excited as I am? I hope you will stay tuned for the details of what's coming up...
It is safe to say that I am excited for next week...but not nearly as excited as I am to see what you have to flaunt this week! Throw the tea on guys...I'm on my way!
Please do not forget to Publish the Fertilizer Friday Logo at the top of this post, and link into the mister linky list below. If you do not do this, you may not get as many "tourists" visiting your Friday post.
Wishing you a safe and happy weekend...
Toots!

Who would have thought hat a geranium would last that long?

I'm jealous of your set-up, I hope soon to have a greenhouse.

And always remember, your water cans are NPT half empty, they are half full!

My post this week is about Savory. Thanks for hosting!

Wow, a geranium that still blooms after 7 years! I think you have magic fingers. Oooh, I am so excited to see you all set up and getting for spring planting. Now, I am all fired up and I am going out to my garden to sow some more seeds.

Has that Geranium been living the entire 7 years? Holy Smoly!! It's beautiful. I am going to be hard-pressed to find any blooms around here, from the freezing weather to downpours, things looks so sad! I'll post something later when the sun comes out..may be just green? I plan on working outside today, I feel so much better..I think the potassium supplements and the potassium enriched foods are making a difference. I hope you get your package soon it's been 8 days! Post photos of and explain your seed starting tips again...please...

Honestly Tootsie, I think plants see me coming and say "we give up, just don't let her torture us!" Someday I'll have the time and energy to try to grow something beautiful like you ladies do. I'm so excited for your big announcement too! I'm on pins and needles.

I got your email and I have to say I feel the same about you and ladies I've met here. Trust me I only blog about the good stuff. We have our squabbles too. Have you noticed that I don't blog much about my husband either? Too much family look at my blog on both sides. That alone speaks for itself I think. I'll always be here with a virtual hug or a listening ear just like I know you will be for me. :)

I am officially inspired. Looks like your garden this year will have plenty of beautiful plants and flowers. I can't wait to see the process unfold. Your green house definitely must make the winter a bit shorter. have fun planting!

I wish I could get a flower house like you and be as organized as you are. I just buy everything and hope it survives.

I'm very impressed with all your pots and trays and how organised you are. I find seed planting very therapeutic but I've never done it on such a large scale and now I tend to cheat and buy bedding plants ready grown!! Love the geranium.
I wonder what your big announcement is! Enjoy your weekend.

I have a question and thought I'd come to The Plant Doctor~
I brought my ferns in for the winter. They were potted and grew massive last summer and I love them. What is the best thing to do to keep them alive? Of course they aren't as healthy because they don't get the sun like they did but they are still hanging on. My other question is about my peace plant. What does it mean when the leaves are turning brown on the ends? Too much water or not enough? Thanks So Much!!

Tootsie I think I am almost as excited to see what all you are going to grow as much as you are to get started. LOL! It takes a lot to get all of those gorgeous flowers of yours.
Happy FF,
Lona

What an operation you have going there. But we all know how well it pays off by the looks of your beautiful yard.
I cut up blinds too. Pick them up at garage sales for .50 cents or a little more.
Hey I got my seeds from you yesterday. THANK YOU!!!!!

I am exhausted just looking at all of the work ahead of you. You always seem so tireless!! I wish I had a greenhouse. Just a tad bit jealous. I will get over it... ; )

I have nothing! Unless you count all the work I need to do to clean up the mess left behind from the winter storms that hit us a week or so back. Leaves & acorns, branches & twigs, dead plants everywhere!

Have a great weekend!!

Now I see what the soil is for...oh my goodness...7 or 8 of those big guys, that is a lot of planting. No wonder your yard is so beautiful. I have used plastic mini blinds for plant labels also. Thanks for this post. I really enjoyed it. Keep us updated on the progress.
