This is NOT GOOD…NOT GOOD AT ALL.

024

Hello. My name is Miss Poo. I will be your host for today, as my mommy is a little bit busy. You see My mommy works really hard to grow all the flowers…and this weekend something very bad happened to a lot of them…

027

Ya…that’s right…you are seeing snow. My mom and I, spent all day on Friday making little tents to cover all the flowers, she is very worried….and did not get too much sleep that night. (which means she is a little crabby- but don’t tell her I told you that)

024

She was very sad when she woke up Saturday morning and the snow was coming down so hard…she had to go outside and shake off the branches of the bigger trees in the garden so that they would not break…and she was not impressed when a huge piece fell on top of her head. I am sure that if she could …she would slap Mother Nature right on the face!

028

It kind of looks like a campground in my yard this weekend.

029

A few of my mom’s tents collapsed…but most of them are fine.

030

031

My mom is going to cry if this bed is ruined…there are so many plants in there! I hope they are all okay!

032

I can still sniff my flowers if I have the urge…some of the tents are open on the side…but don’t tell my mom I was walking inside the tents…she might worry about me.

024

well that is all I have to tell you about my mom. We did get about 6 inches of heavy wet snow and a few of her tents did collapse. She has to fix them all...and she said she doesn't know if she can (but am sure she can) She is just pretty busy right now. I heard her say that she needs to get over and visit all of the FF participants…but I don’t know when she will get around to it. I have a vet’s appointments today…and my mom wants to peer under a few tents and assess the damage.

I am sure she will be around soon with news. For now…I am exhausted from all this typing…hey…I’m no puppy anymore…in August I will turn 12 (human years) …so I will just lay down here…watch my family and have a short nap till someone stops by to kiss me.

Thanks for stoppin by!

oh, no! I hope all the plants are ok. What a bummer!

Snow in May? Wowee, that's a shocker to us Texas gals!

Oh now! Well I guess I shouldn't complain about our weather. I hope the tents protected the plants.

When I saw the news reports I wondered about your garden. Hopefully the damage won't be too great. My tender plants are still in flats, for fear the same thing might happen here. So far we haven't had that late frost, but this weekend we had record rainfall, and everyone around us had flooded basements. Ours just came to within an inch of the floor so we were lucky.

Miss Poo, you are so good to post the photos and information while Tootsie rests and recuperates from this devastating snow fall. I hope all Tootsie's hard work and tents mean that the flowers will come through in all their glory.
What state do you live in?

Hi Tootsie! I was swinging by for a long overdue bloggy visit and saw the snow! Oh, no! I always enjoy having a peek into your gardens since hot weather makes ours pretty short lived...but snow??? Please keep us posted! Try to get some rest...hugs...Debbie

Miss Poo, your owner should be so proud of you...you did a fine job of updating us. I was worried about her lovely plants and she did a fantastic job making those cozy plant tents! We also got snow but not as much as your area! I hope they all make it.

Do you think we all got the wrong calendar? And perhaps they decided to stick Christmas in between Mother's Day & Father's Day?

OMGosh! That is crazy!
MissPoo, please tell Tootsie that snow means moisture and not always freezing. I didn't catch a temperature report in your post but you may not be tall enough to read the thermometer. Hope the tents did their job. Good plant thoughts coming your way!

Oh my goodness!!! I cannot believe it! Is it common for you to get snow this time of year? Crazy weather...we're already 90+ degrees and it is burning all my flowers up! Too bad we can't combine our "weathers" and get the perfect temps. :)
I am so sorry, I sure hope your lovely flowers are OK.

Im sure your plants will make a hardy comeback and you will have a beautiful gardens again. Give our granddogger a big hug for us, for being such a little trooper. Love gramie B

Tootsie I sure hope your plants survived alright. It is hard to think of you having snow when it was 80 degrees here.

Andrea said...

I am so sorry Tootsie with what happened to your garden. If we are afraid of typhoons and rains here, you have your snow. And we have long drought like now, our fruit trees are already dying and some of them are already dead. Mother earth is really complaining of peoples negligence and bad habits, that we are now reaping our "karma".

Lona said...

OMG! Tootsie how cruel. I cannot believe you had so much snow this late. I am sure it was a shock to you too and a trying time trying to protect all of your babies. I hope they will be alright. I would have been frantic too girl. Let us know what happens. You poor thing I feel so bad for you.

GardenOfDaisies said...

Oh no, Mother Nature dos throw the unexpected at us sometimes. Sorry about that and hope that most of your plants make it through. Chin up!

Hi Tootsie! I haven't been around lately 'cause the weather has been so bad in both BC and AB that things around here have been in crazy damage control mode.....but I WAS wondering about you! I knew you had planted and I knew you had snow. Isn't this just the craziest year? Well, I hope the garden came out unscathed and that all your tenting worked. You are AMAZING!
I, on the other hand, have nothing planted and even my hanging baskets blew off the house one night in a big windstorm. Rain has kept me feeling a little dreary but this too shall pass :)

Oh, no, Tootsie! I hope the snow is finished for the season.
