Fertilizer Friday Jan 7/11

Copy_of_001

Welcome to the very first Fertilizer Friday of 2011!!!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together , snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and a link to Tootise Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

So the Alberta climate dictates that winter is long…and cold. Well…the temperatures have been relatively mild, but the snow…is falling! We are expecting a substantial amount of snow by Monday! I can handle snow, it is pretty…and I don’t even mind the shoveling of snow…but I don’t like the cold…so this is a good few weeks for me!

I have been busy busy busy in the greenhouse already. I’m preparing for the seeds to arrive and the planting to begin!

002

The shelving is all set up…

003

Trays and pots are all lined and counted…

016

soil is thawing in the garage…

015

I can hardly wait till my greenhouse looks like this again…(photo from 2009)

I have nothing to flaunt…it’s winter…and there are no blooms…I will very soon be flaunting my heart out with the rest of you guys!!!

Until next time…I hope you are healthy and happy…hugs and smiles, along with wishes for a safe and happy weekend. I look forward to seeing you all flaunting your flowers!

*) *) *) for my special three…You know who you are! 8)

Hi Tootsie,

I am with you, there is not much going on here either, except my little seed starting effort. I haven't done this in several years so I am excited about seeing if it works for me on a much smaller scale.

Lucky girl, having a greenhouse must make winter seem so much shorter. I can't wait to be planting seeds. but plenty of time left for that for me. I will have to live vicariously through you girls with the greenhouses. Have a fun weekend!

It's the middle of Summer here in Australia so right in the middle of our flowering season. I didn't mean to boast saying there were so many things in flower I had trouble choosing which ones to include - sorry.

Tootsie your greenhouse is fantastic. It won't be long now before it's full of plants again.

Wow you have the tidiest most organised greenhouse I think I've ever seen! So many trays waiting for seeds ... it looks like a massive exercise. I've never tried anything on that scale ... what a plant lover you are!

Sorry to hear you and your gorgeous three are not well ... hopefully you will all be recovering very soon!

My but you have an 'eagle eye'! That is a Moses in the Cradle! The old fashion type that have the 'baby' bloom in the leaf crevices. Got it on Ebay. When it warms up, if you still don't have one, I am willing to share!! Thanks for doing Fertilizer Friday! I needed a little 'green' fix, and look forward to seeing what others are up too. As always, your green house is dddrrreeeaaaammmmmmyyyyyy....

Hi Tootsie: Looks like you are rigged and ready to start. Hope you arent under 6 feet of snow like us we have been snow blowing and shovelling since 7 this morning, and its still snowing. we had to send your foster sister home in the daylight so she would be safer driving on the highway. It is very bad here. Hope you are having a wonderful day with your gang. love XOXOXOXO from the O.S.B.
