Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers March 18/11

Copy_of_001

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

Before we begin I feel that I need to re-state the pre-requisites for this little party. There isn’t that much, but it seems there has been some confusion amongst a few participants.

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

I am not flaunting my own stuff this week. I was looking through my photos and found some of the photos that I saved or have been sent…of whimsy in the garden…I don’t know where most of them came from…had them for years now…but I often think I should try some fun little projects like this in my gardens….check them out:

Ha- hahaha!

Okay…enough of the fun stuff…

We got nearly a foot of snow here today…what is Mother Nature thinking!!! Oh well…at least it’s not super cold…and it isn’t May! hahaha!

Lets get your flaunt going! I can’t wait to see!!! Do you have any whimsical plantings in your gardens??? SHARE THEM!

I wish you all a happy and save weekend…thanks to all who have commented so often, and to those who have participated in Fertilizer Friday !

I look forward to visiting you soon! Until next time….happy gardening!

OK I laughed out loud at the flip flops! Not sure I'd want them in my garden, but they are a hoot!

I wish I had more imagination -- maybe this year I'll be inspired.
Gorgeous photos as always!

I loved seeing all the whimsical planters you shared this week. Can't wait to get mine out and growing again. I'm sharing an oxalis plant this week.

Hi Glenda-
My gardening post this week is kind of silly but it was based on real gardening feelings!

Have a great weekend,
Laura

Some of your pix remind me of my mom--she would stick a plant in anything! I tried to link in for FF, hope I did it right! Hard to believe you have snow on the ground and we're planting like crazy here in Texas! Have a great day

Well, the hanging bra planter wouldn't survive here. Anything in the air that isn't large enough to hold some moisture just dies in our wind. Love the hanging tipsy pots. I have the stacking kind that sit on the ground.

Hi Tootsie, My post to share today is not quite ready, so I might be a little bit late in linking up. But also, you had asked a question yesterday on my blog and I wanted to get back to you with the answer. yes, there is a linky for Fresh Clean and Pure Friday. It's a weird thing, cuz sometimes when I open up a blog or even my own, that durn linky doesn't show up for awhile. So I do hope that you return with one of your great garden posts. I LOVE all of these creative garden ideas that you've shared in this post too! I'm going out to dig in the dirt now! Happy Gardening! Roz

I love that first idea but I would have to pass on that one. Those are all so cute. Can't believe you got dumped on again. Isn't there a dance you could do to encourage warmer weather. Just saying...

Hope you have a great spring weekend.

Tootsie, what a hoot! My bras are a whole lot bigger than that one so I could plant a garden in them. (But I won't...can't traumatize the neighborhood) Great containers, so inventive.

You have snow again? I'm sure we're not done either, but right now, it's a nice, mucky, gray-brown mess outside. Thank you for starting me thinking about containers, I perked right up when I read your suggestion!

I know how the tipsy pots were made. I saw this at the Garden show in Hartford CT this month. It is a long pole and any pots with a hole in the bottom. You put the pole in the ground and then add pots and tip them one way and then the other. The long iron pole holds them upright. I would have bought one but I think they were @20. It looks cool.

What wonderful and creative planters. Reminds me of when my daughter was younger and when she outgrew a pair of yellow rain boots, we each decorated them with various designs using puff paint - or more commonly known these days as dimensional paint! Hi. I am your newest follower from "Follow Friday 40 and Over". Please stop by and say hello and follow us too.
Have a super weekend.
