Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Aug. 12/11

Copy_of_001

WELCOME!!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

In my garden things are recovering nicely from the storms that have taken a toll on them this past week or two.

I managed to get around to some clean up…including 5 garbage cans of plants…and several dead birds…it is sad. I am hopeful that things will spring back up and be just as pretty as they should be very soon. (minus the things that had to be discarded)

I plan to share the view of my gardens recovery on Monday, as I want to do a bit more clean up before I post, so this week I am doing a different type of flaunt…

Today’s flaunt is not one of my gardens…but instead of something that I saw yesterday that totally inspired me! Let me show you!

The kids and I took a little day trip to a nearby town and visited a corn maze! It is super fun to walk around in the maze…and try to find your way out! While we were there I saw something that I would love to try!!!

!cid_0810011603a

No…this is not it…haha…I would add arm holes and shackles…maybe a chain or two…haha…just kidding! This is just a fun pic…haha.

!cid_0810011629

This is what I am inspired to share! It’s a flower barn!!! How cute is this!!!

It is a barn shaped structure…loaded with flower pots and window boxes!!!

!cid_0810011629a

In my garden…this would be solid blooms…I think this is just about the cutest idea…and it doesn’t need to be a barn…it could be a play house…or anything!!!

!cid_0810011629b

Can you just imagine it DRIPPING with flowers???

!cid_0810011629c

It could also be a covered bridge!!

!cid_0810011630

I’m thinking that the possibilities are endless for this little gem!!! I really really need one!!!

I think maybe Grampie and Grammie should have one too…*)

What inspires you? Do you have future projects you are looking forward to building?? What’s growing in your gardens today???

Get busy…flaunt your flowers with me! I just can’t wait to see!

On this note…I send you hugs and smiles, and wishes for a safe and happy weekend with those you find most enjoyable! Thanks to all who linked in last week and to those who leave such sweet comments that make me smile. I am looking forward to getting around and seeing you all in the coming days!

Until next time…Happy Gardening!

*)*)*) to those special three that never cease to amaze me!!! Remember…when you choose the action, you also choose the consequences…so always choose wisely!!!

Oh Tootsie, you definitely need and deserve a flower barn; how sweet the photos are. I am not an official member of your Friday flaunts but I have posted 2 photos of my red and orange cannas that are blooming now.

Hi Tootsie, I'm sorry to hear about all the bad storms and the damage they caused. Nature can be freaky sometimes. The flower barn idea is pretty cute. A flower covered bridge would be perfect in the Maritimes as we have so many covered bridges here. I hope you have a lovely weather weekend! Pamela

Tootsie, I really like the flower barn. Even more than that I like the wisdom that you share each and every week. You are one wise woman, Glenda, and your kids will continue to benefit greatly from your advice.

Glad to see you have another challenge for yourself. You're such a handy person, I can totally see you constructing something similar for your garden! Thanks for linking me in this week. As predicted, nothing new, really, I am still shampooing carpets and trying to put everything back together for the weekend. Have a great weekend!

How cute! I'm wondering how it would work as a veggie barn!

Hi Tootsie. I haven't been to see you for a while as I've been a tad busy, but I've just had a lovely time catching up on your old posts!

That flower barn is something else! I'm betting you have one by next summer :)
