Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Oct.28/11

Copy_of_001

WELCOME FRIENDS!!!

I am so happy you stopped by!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

I have a post composed in my head to share with you on Monday, I would share it today, but it really has nothing to do with flower flaunting…in fact it isn’t a flaunt at all! So stay tuned…as soon as I get it out of my head and into the computer…it will be all yours! haha

This week it was a lot cooler in Alberta Canada. Frost and even a little snow has touched our province. The snow didn’t stick around…and only fell for a brief moment or two, but still it fell…and I can say it wasn’t a welcome sight!

Running my heels raw again has left me tired and run down. I am feeling a little overwhelmed these days with all the activity that I seem to be obligated to be involved in. I just can’t wait till the days are less hectic and I have time to be me!

I don’t have anything worth flaunting around me these days…it is all gone for the time being…so I am sharing a couple photos from the past…of a time when I had lots to look forward to…and to flaunt!

016

I can’t wait to put my seed order in…so that I can fill my greenhouse with all things green again…I love the days when the greenhouse is filled to the brim!

008

Just walking inside a packed greenhouse is a delightful experience. Makes all feel right in the world…and all the stresses of life seem to momentarily melt away…

049

I am dreaming of the day when I will be inside my greenhouse again…

013

…dreaming of planting and growing.

023

This is the one place in the world…where I can go and just be me.

098 - Copy

This is my place…my favorite- special -safe place.

That is my flaunt/ flashback/daydream for this week! Hope you all have great weather and good things to share!

So? What are you waiting for??? Inspire me! Dazzle us all…and get your flaunt on!

Thank you all…for faithfully stopping in to say hello…and for the sweet supportive comments…and most of all…for hanging in there beside me in this crazy and difficult time. I feel so bad that I have not been around to thank or comment much…or at all…and am grateful that you all have not abandoned ship because of it. I WILL be there…with bells on…as soon as I get a few minutes to myself…with which I can dance the internet with glee!

Hugs and smiles and wishes for a safe and happy weekend to you all…

Until Next Time…Happy Gardening!

Hi Tootsie, i've been waiting for the FF to be up, and when i did some are already ahead of me. Take your time in sailing, we will not abandon ship as long as our captain is still there. If only I am nearby i will offer my time and hands in repacking and starting the garden. I can help you haul the soil and all those materials, I just need a cup of coffee! Haha. Be happy. As we always say here in our conditions with only 2 seasons, 'there is always sunshine after a rainy day'. In yours, spring always follow winter! Take care.

Sharing with you some tropical sunshine and orchids galore. Again, when I see your photos, I feel inspired to beautify my garden. Thank you for sharing.

Glenda, I'm so happy to see you still hosting FF even with all the work you have to do at this time. You are such an inspiration to me, and though I stayed up half the night (ok, almost all night) writing my post, it was with you in mind. Thank you for being you!

Hi Tootsie, You are such a talented woman, Tootsie. It is amazing to me how you take all of those tiny seeds and plant them and nurture them in your greenhouse and make such lush, full, colorful gardens! Loved the shot of all the green in your greenhouse. I can see why it's your haven. Thanks for hosting FF.

I'd never go in the house if my yard looked like that last shot.

Have a great weekend!

We had snow and a killing frost last night. So sad...your photos of memories of your garden are wonderful and something to cherish...

I lived in Calgary for 11 of my 55 years on the planet. I left when I was 22 and moved to Vancouver island. I've been in solid clay...and I do mean solid...and only had one garden. A perennial bed along the house. We bought it new in 1979 and when they filled in around the house, it wasn't clay. The past year I had a lightbulb moment and started gardening using what is now called lasagna gardening. So with that technique much modified, cuz I'd never heard of it and was just gardening 'way up above grass level' and very deep raised beds, I am finally gardening. My point is...I have so much respect for what you do. Your garden is so infinitely more beautiful than mine and I'm in zone 9a and have no excuse whatever. Congratulations on creating the impossible. In my 11 years there I never saw anything close to what you've done.

Hi Glenda, Every time I visit I am always amazed at the wide range of colorful annuals you have. I am sure your greenhouse is your secret weapon. I would love to have one just like it!
