Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers April 13/12

Copy_of_001

IT’S FRIDAY AGAIN!!!! I am SO glad to see you!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.
The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

It was a busy week in my yard and greenhouse. I spent the majority of my time outside trying my best to get this yard starting to look more like a gardener lives in it, than anything. I worked my “Tootsie” off…(to put it gently!)

DSCN2946

Pay close attention to all the bricks in this photo…I know I sure did. If you remember…

DSCN2107

…The greenhouse is built on a skid…and therefore the wind and every cat in town could get in underneath it…

DSCN3037

…NOT ANYMORE!!! I picked almost all of the bricks up and put them around the outside of my greenhouse! I have always wanted my greenhouse to look like it has a stone foundation…and I decided to make this happen! I am so happy with the outcome! It didn’t just give the unwanted bricks a new use, it helped the appearance of my garden just a bit…(ok…a lot!)

DSCN3036

I moved all the mulch from the flower beds to in front of the greenhouse door and along the back side…and positioned my old ladder by the post that is in the ground where the gas and power lines are located. That round black ring is the power line cables that still need to be used…they are for the greenhouse/garage power source.

I made a whole lot of other changes to the yard, but that is all I am sharing for now. I meant to share it earlier in the week, but didn’t get a chance to post! (Next week…I hope…hahaha…)

DSCN3038

Inside the greenhouse, things are growing like weeds! I am sort of sad that I didn’t plant as much as I usually do this year, but, since my gardens are not ready yet…or even started yet…I am sure I will have enough to put out as it is. I more than likely won’t be putting a lot in right away as there is work to be done to the outside of my house yet….so…this is just a start for me.

DSCN3039

All of the hanging baskets are getting ready to spill over the rims of their pots! I am so happy to see them when I walk into the greenhouse each day!

DSCN3040

Everything is growing nicely…

DSCN3041

I can hardly wait to get them all into containers and set them all outside!

DSCN3042

DSCN3043

The Hen and Chicks are growing great!

DSCN3049

I just adore my little piece of heaven. I wish I could spend more time in there. I always feel so relaxed, and happy.

I am sure I will be relieved that I didn’t have more planted when the time comes to set them all in the ground…

DSCN3050

…because even with all the progress I have made to clean up this yard so far, I still have a LONG way to go before it is beautiful! I admit, I am really missing my beautiful garden that I left behind…hopefully soon, this one will be a nice retreat too.

I have to plan for the fence to be put in, and a garage to be built…this makes it difficult to start building flower beds and plantings. I am excited to get this show on the road!

DSCN3056

Home is starting to look a little better every week…Now…if spring would hurry up and warm the ground, I could try to green this place up a bit!

This is the end of my flaunt…I hope to see lots of inspiration from you guys this week…I am depending on lots of pretties in your posts!

What are you waiting for??? Get your flaunt ON!

Hugs , smiles and wishes for a safe and happy weekend with friends and family from Tootsie and her gang in Zone 2 Alberta Canada!!! HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Until Next Time…Happy gardening!

I really need to come see your greenhouse. I always think I have lots growing until I see yours. Still haven't figured out how to hang baskets without the frame bending. Looking forward to seeing your garden transform this summer. I know it will be beautiful!

Your garden is so huge and your greenhouses are so full of great plants. I am still cleaning up from the windstorms and getting things ready for planting in my area of the country. Thanks for hosting.

Hi Tootsie! It's been a while since I posted for FF. Your new garden is looking so bare, but knowing how much energy you have, it will be full of flowers soon! Looking forward to seeing the transformation!

Do you sleep??? Dang you've gotten a lot done. Love the "rocks" around the greenhouse.
The garden will come.

It is amazing how fast all your seeds have grown and those hanging baskets..amazing. What a great idea to use those bricks around the greenhouse..what plans do you have for the driveway now or was that a sidewalk where you removed the bricks from? How do you find time to work in the store and do all you get done? You must have boundless energy!

Glenda, what do you use for seed starting mix for all your stuff that you grow in the GH? Is it a specific brand or do mix up your own?

Looking fabulous as usual, girl!

I so love your greenhouse and what you did with the bricks. I can't wait to see what you do in the yard. At least you have a clean slate to work with. Looks like you have more room than the other place? Have a good weekend and happy gardening.

Love the brick foundation...such a classy Tootsie touch! We are still covered with snow but I'm thankful for the added moisture it will provide this spring.

I'm so impressed by the way you just grab up things like the bricks, reuse them in such an attractive way and move on to the next task leaving everything so organized.
