Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers April 27/12

Copy_of_001

IT’S FRIDAY AGAIN!!!! I am SO glad to see you!
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing! You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.
So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

This week I am happy to say that the flaunt is all my own. I am sharing some photos of the greenhouse!

It has been a very hectic week around my house…work and kids have me hopping! I am so glad that I had today off so that I could get a lot finished up in the greenhouse as well as in the house! Dreary, cold and wet weather has left me longing for some nice days to play out in the yard. I suppose the positive side of the adverse weather is that laundry and house work definitely got done! haha!

Come with me, and I will take you on a tour of the greenhouse!

I finally got the screen door hung this week…not sure I am loving it as that tree…you know the one…ya…the one I despise…is so close to the greenhouse, that it makes it almost awkward to get it open and closed. I just wish that tree would go away! I swear…ONE more issue with the tree and it will be gone!!!!!

I spent the majority of my day cleaning up the HUGE mess that had accumulated in the greenhouse. I removed some of the foam winter floor tiles, planted myself some pots for the garden and did general maintenance and housekeeping. While I was doing this I noticed some VERY flauntable things!

Blue Bacopa is blooming!!!!

White Bacopa is blooming!!! Are they not just the cutest little blooms???

I am also excited to share the purple Wave Petunias in the hanging baskets that are also starting to bloom. Nothing makes this gardener feel proud like seeing blooms on the plants she grew from a seed!

The rest of the greenhouse is still growing right along! I am worried I won’t have enough plants to do my yard this year. I suspect that I got some contaminated potting soil this year, as there were several trays that didn’t even sprout one seed! Those that did are not doing as well as I would have hoped. My greenhouse is only 1/2 as full as it usually is at this time of year. This may be a blessing, as I am just getting started in this yard!

What is growing, is doing fantastic!

Today was a wonderful day for this Tootsie. I am so glad I got to spend some time in my favorite place on earth.

Now…it’s your turn…get your flaunt on and join the fun! I just can’t wait to see!

Hugs , smiles and wishes for a safe and happy weekend with friends and family from Tootsie and her gang in Zone 2 Alberta Canada!!! I am going to be around to see all of the party participants as soon as I can, and the rest of you too!!

*)*)*) to my three winks, who just love to stop by and visit me. Remember, your candle don't shine brighter if you spend all your time trying to blow someone Else's out. xoxo

Things are definitely on the go in your greenhouse. It's a wonderful sight. There may not be as much as in the past, but it's a great start. Slow steps this year, but I bet next year will be a whole different story.

What I see in that greenhouse looks great. You really do a nice job of getting plants started.

I wish I wish I had a greenhouse! I bought one of those miniature ones that is shelves with a plastic cover. Have a few things started but to have a whole room filled with sweet seedlings- heaven!!

Nothing to show you from my yard except the post before the last one is showing the progress on the outside- would love for you to go over and check it out. I will be needing help with ideas for planting that front portico area!

Hope all is well with you friend!

Congratulations Tootsie, they are starting to be wonderful now. I am sure your stress and strained muscles will now be forgotten when all of these plants start to bloom. Even at that stage they are already beautiful. I know what you've been through and I am still smiling from the vision i remember in moving the shed "redneck style". I can visualize your big smile inside your greenhouse, Tootsie energy is now showing again! Happy weekend

Tootsie, You should be very proud of yourself, to have grown such beautiful petunias and bacopa from seed. It's so much easier to start with plants but you are doing great and are an inspiration! This year I started more seeds than ever before (under grow lights - I don't have a greenhouse). Some was good, some not so much. I started primulas, asters, poppies, jewel of Opar, wild foxglove, zinnias, and tomatoes. None are even close to bloom stage yet. Many that I started inside are now being babysat on the porch (hardening off, taking inside when it gets too cold). It's a lot of work but I can see fulfillment when things work out well, and starting seeds is less costly than plants. Plus, some plants I wanted I could only find seeds. Thanks for sponsoring!

It looks so wonderful and I bet it smells divine in that greenhouse. It's a wonder you have this much growing with the move and all! Like I said last post, If Tootsie cant' do it, It can't be done!

This week I am more flaunting my vegetables than flowers, because that is where the action is in my garden right now! However, the deep purple irises have started to bloom--love them. Thank you for hosting such a great link party--I appreciate it. And I am so in love with your greenhouse--all those hanging baskets, so lovely!

I nominate Tootsie as Poster Child for "I Wish I Had a Greenhouse/Potting Shed/Garden House." Pinterest is littered with pins of greenhouses and other such structures labeled 'someday' or 'I wish.' Tootsie got 'er done! Hard work and giving up something else leads to dreams coming true. Blossoms come from sticking a seed in a container in a warm place, whether in a conservatory or a laundry room.
