Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Feb. 15/13

Copy_of_001
PSSSST!

Hey YOU!

Ya YOU!

Do you know what day it is???

It’s Friday !!!!

Wow this week sure flew by!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing! You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or abut if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly! link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

Well…the warm weather continues this month…and I am LOVING every second of it!  We are having days that are hovering just around the freezing mark!   YAY!  Feels so good to see the sun shine…and knowing that it is not 40 below freezing makes a girl feel like spring just might show up!
There is a little matter that needs dealing with outside though:

051

Ya….there is an A$$ load of SNOW!   It is gonna take FOREVER for this stuff to melt!

060

There is a flower bed under there somewhere!

054

What a mess there will be when this all starts to melt.   It has been melting and freezing off and on all week, and that has caused it to compact down and get very solid…I can walk across the mounds of snow…they are hard as rocks…lol   It can’t go away fast enough for me!

005

In the greenhouse, I have a lot of pretty to look at…My orchids are still blooming…

008

They almost look arrogant compared to the snow outside…Ha-ha!

010

My newly seeded Geraniums are doing great!

019

They are getting their second set of leaves already!!!  YAY!

022

Soon they will be in full bloom just like this one…it is a few years old…and blooms all the time!

021

I even had a little surprise…my Boston Fern…I thought had bit the bucket…is sprouting back into action!   Good thing I didn’t throw it away already!  She’s not gorgeous yet…but hopefully it will forget that this Tootsie can’t grow a fern very well, and get all wonderful for us!

027

My Christmas Cactus is once again having time issues…ha ha …she’s blooming again!

043

I had this baby dug up last fall, it is a virginia Creeper/ Engleman’s Ivy.  I gave it a little rest and then added a little water…there is a lot of happy that this plant is doing so well!

039

And …I have been nursing my Passion Flower Vine for over a year now.  It did not like the move across the province and was struggling really badly for a long time…BUT…it looks like things are getting a little grow on!  I am crossing my fingers for some of the gorgeous blooms that it makes to be in the near future!

There is one “WEEDLIKE” Character that I have been growing and feeding now for 8 full years…and I am so sad to say that she is getting SOOOOO big!

This is my youngest Baby …who is so little anymore!  sniff sniff.

I was hoping that this particular weed would stay little forever…HAPPY BIRTHDAY “BUSY”!

You were the best Valentine’s Day Gift this Tootsie ever got!   Love you!

Well kids…that is all for me for this week…now it is your turn…What are you waiting for???
Get flaunting!

I wish all of you hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans!
Thank you all so much for dropping in today, and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to FINALLY visit you…it seems there are not enough hours in a day anymore...THANK YOU!

Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

Hello Glenda, I don't have anything to share this week, but just wanted to drop in and say hi! Your greenhouse and all the geraniums and ferns and orchids is amazing, I can almost smell the growing goodness from here. We've got a lot of snow too, another 4 inches today, but one of these days, it will be Spring again. Happy Birthday to your sweet little girl, too!

Hi Tootsie, your orchids really look so arrogant because remaining good for a tropical orchid in that very cold environment is something to be proud of! It is more difficult for them to live there than the natives. And those flowers which came from you are really the most beautiful.

Hi Glenda,

Thanks for hostessing this blog party. You have quite a load of snow in your back yard. Quite a contract to the lovely things growing in your greenhouse. Your orchids are doing well. We just got one about the same color as your magenta one on Valentines day. I do love orchids and they seem to love my bathroom. Hope you have a great weekend.

Got my post all ready and then forgot to link it here and leave a comment. I wonder who the sweet lady is to whom I commented about geraniums? I need to plant some seed.

That fern looks as if it would like you to pull it out of that basket, put fresh soil underneath to bring it nearly to the level of the top of the basket and give it a little fish emulsion fertilizer. Then it would like to be in a shadier location until it gets going, it thinks. It wants to be watered well only rarely and misted the rest of the time. It doesn't ask much of a busy person, does it?

That young lady is growing up. Precious. Hope she had a Happy Birthday and has a bodaciously wonderful year.
