Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers March 8/13

PSSSST!

Hey YOU!
Ya YOU!
Do you know what day it is???
It’s Friday !!!!
Wow this week sure flew by!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.
The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.
So?????....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

I have been lucky enough to have a few hours each day this week to devote to my greenhouse and the spring crop of annuals!   Things are going great in there, room is of the  utmost importance and I am running out of seeds!   I am happy to say that there are a few things already popping out of the soil and that makes me VERY happy!

001

Things in the greenhouse are glorious!   Everything is starting to wake up from Winter dormancy, and it shows!

011

I….well…I am having a blast planting everything I can get my hot little hands on!  I am filling up in here!

013

I actually have a little more space left in the greenhouse…but …I am ashamed to say…
I ran out of seeds!  I planted everything I have!  I need to go pick up some more…SOON!

sun_gro_family logo

I have had several inquiries into my soil brand…
I am a loyal old thing …and I have been using the Sunshine Products for YEARS.   They have never let me down…click the photos above to visit their site and see what they have that can make you smile!

014

Now…back to the greenhouse…of the seeds that I have already planted, there are a few that make me very happy!

008

My Geraniums are doing great!

002

The Petunias are popping up….

004
…So are the Bacopa seeds!!!!   I can’t wait!  There are lots of little bitty plants in my greenhouse right now.   Soon…they will be flowering and growing to make people smile in my garden!

009

This Banana will be a sure fire head turner in my garden!  I love Banana plants…I only have one seed sprouting out of all that I sowed…I am hoping for more than one…but if not, I at least have this guy.   They grow so fast, and so pretty it’s hard to not to look!   They do get VERY big, so sometimes more than one is not an option! right?  (I don’t know…I think I could find a spot for a few…maybe one kid could move to my mother’s and the plants could have her room?)  :)

020

Not everything in my greenhouse right now is a new seedling!   I have several things BLOOMING and being all fabulous right now!   This Geranium is a couple of years old…Pretty pretty!

021

Remember my old lady?   Yep!  This is the Geranium my kids gave me for Mother’s day 10+ years ago!   I always smile when I see her blooming…there have been so many close calls for this plant…that I am just amazed that it is still alive…much less blooming!

023

Take a look at this!!!  Once again, my Christmas Cacti are blooming….they are almost in constant bloom this last while!

025

There is a LOT of buds on them this time too…It is amazing to watch a plant bloom like this….it almost makes me think I know what I am doing!  hahahaha!

026

Another two year old geranium blooming…this one is such a pretty red!

027

Of course I have to share the Orchids…they are still blooming up a storm!

041

I still have a few blooms on my purple wandering Jew plant, but look at that coleus bloom!  Yep…I was cutting them off all winter long, and finally gave up….bloom baby bloom!  lol   If it dies after it blooms, I have it covered…I planted a whole tray of Coleus yesterday!  hahaha

032

This Begonia is one that I planted from a seed about 6 years ago.  It has been blooming and growing and blooming and growing, and the leaves seemed very small…so did the blooms…Then last month the original plant died off and this one popped up on the side of the pot.   The leaves are much larger and the bloom is too!   I will see where this takes me, but so far…I like it!
That’s all I have in bloom right now…so that is the end of my flaunt for this week…That means…I can’t wait to see what you have!

Well…what are you waiting for???
GO!!!
Get your flaunt on!!!

I wish all of you hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans!
Thank you all so much for dropping in today, and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to FINALLY visit you…it seems there are not enough hours in a day anymore...THANK YOU!

Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

*)*)*)  And if in the end you can look back, not with regret, but with appreciation for the good there was and what it meant to you, then you can know peace and forgive

Hi, thanks for hosting. Right now I am working way up north and dreaming about my garden. Every third week I have a week at home and I've been doing any winter clean up and doing some more prep digging for the garden to come. I am an organic gardener and work year round (when I am home) on my beds, new beds, moving, constructing and preparing as well as planting. Deer remain an issue, they love my tender plants. Have a great week, sure a great visit to your greenhouses.

You help me believe that Spring is coming lol You're so lucky to have a greenhouse, but then again I'm not sure I'd want to take on that work so I'll just enjoy yours. Thanks again for hosting and sharing... you're the best!

Things are really colorful in your greenhouse. Love the Begonia.

After you enjoy those little Coleus blooms for a bit, pinch them off so the plant can continue to grow rather than completing its life cycle.

Hi Tootsie,
My gosh, it's been such a long time since I joined your link party. Thank you for stopping by today and inviting me over.
I see that your hands are full with all the lovely things you are growing in your greenhouse. I love the pictures of your Christmas Cacti.

Thanks for hosting the link party, and I hope to join it more often as the gardening season begins.

Have a wonderful weekend.

It's a pleasure to read updates about your garden. I've had the Christmas Cactus (Magenta and White) bloom this season. Currently, I have four colors in Geranium. And guess what... one of my orchid plants bloomed three times this season. However, the terrace garden is not bereft of pests; taking me a lot of time to get rid of them. Happy Women's Day!

Oohh, I can smell the soil and the sweet fragrance of the greenhouse, just looking at your photos! Everything is coming along nicely and I appreciate you sharing the brand of soil you use.

On an aside, I've been trying to comment on Clipped Wings' blog but cannot seem to do so. Perhaps it's because I am on a MAC without an RSS feeder? I see she follows your blog too, so I hope she knows I am trying.

Having recently moved, nothing is growing and, in fact, my palm seems to have suffered terribly from moving during the winter. Poor thing. Come spring, though, I shall be sure to join you once again for Fertilizer Friday. Thanks a bunch.... a florist's bunch!

Take care!
