I hope you will excuse the less than quality writing in this post, but this Tootsie is more than a little emotional right now. I have been distracted for months worrying about my Dad (a.k.a Grampie). He is not well at the moment and I am just sick with concern about it. So…Before you all scroll down and take your place in the spotlight on the Fertilizer Friday post, I am asking …no …I am begging for you to stop for just a moment and Please pray for my Mom and Dad.
The Fertilizer Friday post is already up...just scroll down.
A few months ago my Dad (Grampie) was diagnosed with Barrett's Disease. Today my Dad (Grampie) is having a procedure done in his esophagus, to treat the problems caused by it. While they are in his throat, they are looking for cancer, and should they find anything, they will have to do some surgery. My Mom (a.k.a. Grammie) is with him, and I have been charged with the task of filling her shoes and running the store while they are away for the duration of the surgical business and some recovery. I wish I could be there with them, but alas they need me to be where I am instead.
My Dad, as you know, underwent some emergency surgery a couple of years ago…we nearly lost his skinny self to what they thought was a burst appendix, but turned out to be a whole other issue with his secum. He had Major surgery and nearly passed on the table as he has a weak heart, and sleep apnea. He stopped breathing several times and the simple surgery that should have taken only an hour, took several hours instead. We are so fortunate that your prayers, the grace of God and the skills of the hospital staff gave us our Grampie back to torture us and boss us all around….and now we are asking you all to help out again.
Please, if you are so inclined, pray for Grampie’s speedy recovery and that they find NO cancer in his throat. While you are praying, please add a little mention in there for Grammie…who will have to take care of this difficult old poop while he recovers….she is worried sick, AND he is not an easy patient to care for! Grammie also could use a couple of prayers that the stress of all of this won’t make the shingles that torture her flare up and cause her to fall ill as well.
Please dear friends, keep my little family in your prayers if you can. My family is very small ( it is just me, my kids and my mom and dad) and we all need him to be okay. I am very worried…no…lets be honest I am scared. I am not ready to lose my Dad yet…I still need him to torture me and the kids for many years to come.
My parents, my kids and I appreciate it more than you will ever know.
Until Next Time…Thank You for the support. I will post an update as soon as I have one!
*)*)*) Be kind to everyone you meet… you never know when it's an Angel in disguise.
