Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Sept. 19/13

Copy_of_001
WELCOME FRIEND!

Do you know what day it is???

It’s Friday !!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol)  It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.

The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted

So?????....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...
Well….another week has come and gone in the garden.  With Fall quickly approaching, I have stopped dead heading and feeding my plants, and have started to pull things that are not looking so wonderful anymore.

I am desperate to hold onto the summer blooms for as long as I possibly can, so I am still watering, and trying to hold off pulling anything for as long as possible.  Last night marked the first frost of the season, and that means the it is only a matter of time before I have nothing left to share but memories.

In between bouts of this flu that has been plaguing me endlessly the last couple of weeks, I have managed to get a few things done in the gardens, and I have removed a lot.   When the frost warning was issued, the kids and I rushed to put a few of the plants that I wanted to keep a bit longer into the greenhouse…

There wasn’t even room to move in there…just barely enough room to close the door!   We managed to save them from the frost though, and that was the point!

If you look close, you can see where I have pulled a few things…can you see what has changed in the back since last we met?
BeFunky_237.jpg
The fence line is looking a little bare since I started getting rid of a few things…lots of the hanging baskets are gone for good…the frost didn’t seem to do too much damage last night, so this bed will be left for now…

Lots missing along the greenhouse.   The warm temps of last week took a toll on some of the plants that were just starting to finish, so I tossed them out.

The hanging baskets on the shed are looking a little on the icky side after the frost, so they are going to be tossed today.  Good thing I tend to plant a lot of pots…I see some fancy re-arrangements coming!  lol
Well….that’s it for me for today…I don’t want to make my post too terribly long…You guys need a chance to share too!!!

What are you waiting for???
GO!!!

Get your flaunt on!!!

You can link as many posts as you like…I don’t mind seeing lots!!!

Thank you all so much for dropping in today, and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to FINALLY visit you…also…I need to re-invent the clock to add a few extra hours…
THANK YOU!

Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

Lots of color and beauty in your yard. It's getting close to fall here (Iowa) too. Many of the perennials are dried out/brown - and ready to be cut off. The annuals are still bright and beautiful. Hope you feel better soon, Glenda.

Still loads of great colour in your garden. That spot outside the garden shed is my favourite. I'd just love to sit and rock a while.

I'm excited to share a bloom that's named after you. I've managed to get a Hemerocallis called 'Tootsie'. How wonderful is that!!

Sorry to hear you have been sick...I am still getting over a nasty virus and no time in the garden....I need to get out there soon. We had a light frost but it did not hit all parts of the garden...

Hope you can shake off this 'bug' that came and got on you and feel better soon.

It's almost time to start bringing in plants here too. I am not sure I can squeeze in everything with 7 times as many Christmas Cactuses as last year and too many bulbs to force as well.

We have our first frost warning tonight, it is different living in zone 3 compared to zone 6, that is for sure!
