Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Nov. 1/13

Copy_of_001
Do you know what day it is???

It’s Friday !!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol)  It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”

Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.

The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted

I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

We made it another week in my area of Alberta with not even one flake of snow!   YAY!!!  I has been cold outside…but no snow is no snow!!!  hee hee!

I have been a busy girl again, and today I decided to share the neglected greenhouse in my back yard.   I will be busy finishing getting it all fixed up for winter next week…so today you are going to see a mess!

Right now, my greenhouse is doing fine.  It needs a winterized ceiling…(plastic sheet to hold the warm air in) and needs to be organized.  I started to do this when it decided to get cold at night…so I just have the walls done and the floor in…There are a LOT of big plants in here right now.  I have got 4 Banana plants…that are doing VERY well…One is only 2 feet tall, one three feet, and one 4 feet…They normally don’t last too long in this area…so I was confident that I would not have to worry about making a lot of room for them.   WELL…joke’s on ME!

This Banana is going to take over soon.  It is now over 5 feet tall and pretty much just as wide!!   When I brought it inside, it was only about 3 feet tall!  It is certainly happy in the greenhouse right now!

My 12 year old Geranium is blooming happily in the greenhouse right now.  I didn’t bring her outside this year at all…I have had her way too long to risk her dying on me!

My Christmas Cactus is about to bloom again for the 4th time this year…I love the blooms on this plant…so vibrant…they cheer a gardener up when it’s dreary and cold outside!

It is just LOADED with buds!

I have a feeling that we will be seeing THIS lovely being flaunted again.

Well….that’s it for me for today…

SO?   What are you waiting for???

GO!!!

Get your flaunt on!!!

You can link as many posts as you like…I don’t mind seeing lots!!!

Thank you all so much for all the wonderful comments  this week... and WELCOME to all my new followers…and to those that loyally follow me and faithfully link in to this party…AND who are patient while waiting for me to FINALLY visit you…
THANK YOU!

I appreciate you more than you know.

Stay tuned Sunday/Monday for the next installment of “The 108 Year Old House” There is a LOT to share!   If you missed some…you can find the links to chapter 1, 2,3,4 and a post about a piece of furniture I made just for the place… by clicking on their numbers!
Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

I decided to not carry over my passion vine and Tibouchina. They just weren't worth the effort as they spend more time in the greenhouse than blooming. Love the cactus. it will be loaded with flowers very soon.

Hi Glenda

Oh how I would love to spend some time doing christmas crafts with you!
by the way... last fall I put a three foot tall banana tree in my house.. and its now at least 7 feet tall! Its a very good thing I have cathedral ceilings... I have also kept its roots very restricted. It really does need to be planted up into a bigger pot but Im afraid I wouldn't get it outside next year.
I hope to see you Monday.

My banana plants have grown crazy (at our land garden). On our terrace garden, a tiny banana plant is growing. I love the Christmas Cactus blooms; my plant has flowers too. However, the White-colored Christmas Cactus plant has just managed to survive the affect from our kittens.

It's festival of lamps at India, and for this week's Fertilizer Friday, I have shared article from my handicraft blog because the artwork is inspired by the plants at our garden.

Happy Friday!

You have enough Christmas Cactus to root a tiny one for everybody on your list. I'm excited about every little bud that appears. They're slower to emerge here because of longer, stronger daylight.

I must remember Geraniums next spring.
