Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers March 4/11

Copy_of_001

Good Day! Happy Friday!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

Before we begin I feel that I need to re-state the pre-requisites for this little party. There isn’t that much, but it seems there has been some confusion amongst a few participants.

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

It has been a productive week here in my house/greenhouse! I have been plugging away on the little ‘change’ project that I mentioned last week. It is taking a little longer than I wanted it to…but hey…that’s what happens when a girl is busy.

My Internet has been sporadic at best…the provider is having some change or something and I haven’t been able to get around to everyone that linked in yet. I do apologize…and I will be there…be patient with me. I am just one Toots.

The greenhouse is coming along quite well…take a look:

043

These pots hold Wave Petunia seed…and they are starting to pop up!

046

Look!!! This is a very young petunia!

050

Here’s another! There are several of them popping up all over! I was so excited to see that they were sprouting just in time to share today!

063

Boy are they ever hard to photograph!

044

The sun is out today…so it is harder to snap good photos of the plants in the greenhouse…it seems the sun wants center stage! The Geraniums are getting bigger by the day! I am so excited for spring to finally come!

066

My Hydrangea is getting a bloom or two…

069

…Better yet…the Mandevilla is blooming!!! I thought I was going to lose her this winter!

070

It looks a little sparse…but it is coming right back!

It has been VERY cold here this week. No nice warm temps for this gardener. The sub zero temps and dreary snowy days, have made it challenging to keep the greenhouse. I have been taking a couple hours each day to fill containers, and prep for the rest of the seeds to be sown.

What are you doing this week? Did you plant any seeds? What’s going on in your area? I can’t wait to hear/ see!

Until next time…hugs and smiles…and wishes for a safe and happy weekend with friends and family. Thanks for popping over this week and a special smile for those who have linked in!

*)*)*) to those special three who just love to pop by and see me! You know who you are!

I have always loved seeing seeds pop into small little leaves.. it's fascinating when you can watch them germinate overnight!

Your greenhouse is working overtime ... how wonderful to see all those lovely little seedlings. I'm looking forward to seeing them all planted out in your garden and on display.

It's marvellous to see your pretty Mandevilla made it through and bloomed for you. Well done!

Hi Glenda, Now it's no longer waiting for the seeds to arrive but for the seeds to germinate. :)

The tiny seeds look so vulnerable. I have accidentally pulled of some of my vegies thinking them as weeds. You have a superhero hydrangea that blooms when so young! This week I have butterflies to show, so please, please don't kick me out, yeah.

look at all that is growing in that greenhouse....Still under a blanket of snow here, but will be starting seeds this weekend for a few flowers and veggies

I hate that it seems like the winter is dragging on. I know it has been really harsh on you guys this year. Hopefully that is about to change. Like last year you have so much activity going on in your little greenhouse and they are coming along. Love the mandevilla. Have a nice weekend.

Oh by the way I spread out dozens of different seeds this past weekend. I just failed to mention that in my post. Crazy me.

Hi Tootsie!
I'm back for another visit!
Looks like you have wonderful things happening in your garden today!I've been thinking about researching a small green house for my garden too... something to let those seeds get a head start.. I hadn't thought of the wave petunia starts before... no wonder your garden looks like a nursery!
I'mm off to visit the others!

Thanks for following and leaving such a nice comment.

Your plants are amazing....I too love to garden. Here in southern NJ it's still pretty cold and things are slowly starting to pop out of the ground. I'm jealous of you, wish I had a greenhouse.

Did you leave your mandevilla (sorry for spelling) in a pot all winter? What zone are you in??? I'm in 7 and would love to get one of those for Mother's Day.

I am your newest follower, have a great weekend.

Yeah for baby seedlings! I love watching what's going on in your greenhouse this time of year. We've got below normal temps too, but not quite as cold as yours. At least you've got a little sun.

Oh those tiny seedlings -- so cute! It's hard to imagine how fast they will grow, and that in a few months they will be bursting with bloom.

You amaze me with your industry and your seed skills. I LOVE watching your garden come together; for a hit-and-miss gardener like me, watching your progress is an education.
thanks!

Girl, thanks for coming over and giving me a slap upside the head and tell me to get my tush over here and link up! LOL I have been so taken over with Spring fever, I can't think straight. all I can think bout is planting, flowers, dirt, weeding...etc! LOL I don't know if you remember, but, I talked about a "moon garden" last summer. I am going to attempt a small potted version this year. I have some seeds planted in our little indoor greenhouse already.

You're making me really wish there wasn't a fresh layer of snow outside my window right now! Sigh... spring will get here eventually, right? :)

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great weekend!

Found you on For the Love of Blog's Link Party page. I'm a new follower! My blog focuses on fashion, but I do love to garden! We took up our lawn seven years ago so it could be all garden. I am no expert by any means. I'll try to remember to link up next Friday. I have a Friday feature, so I'll just have to do double duty!

I like your new format. And you already have plants coming up!? Wow!! We have lots of snow and the temp this morning was 8, so not much planting going on here. I'm having trouble keeping the houseplants happy lol. Look forward to watching your new series of planning your garden. I mean my garden lol. I'll be watching :)
