Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers May 4/12

Copy_of_001

HAPPY FRIDAY AGAIN!!!! I am SO glad to see you!
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.
The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing! You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly! All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.
So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

I have had a wonderful week in my gardens!!! However, it is a bit discouraging to be working in this yard, as I am not sure what is going to work for me in this area and what is not! I have spent the better part of my week renovating my space to try to Tootsify the place!

I was out in the yard for three days this week!!! It wasn’t as much fun as I had hoped it would have been, as it was dreary and even rained on me while I worked! In the true spirit of who I am, I ignored the wet…and got good and dirty!!!

I always started out looking like this:

mail.google.com2

Yep…that’s me…driving to the farm to get some of the good stuff that my gardens will need! I am squeaky clean!!!

mail.google.com4

This is me…1/2 way through the day!! I will spare you the horror of the rest of my attire!!! ha ha!

mail.google.com3

This is the view you would have gotten AFTER I came in and got cleaned up a bit!!! ha ha!!! You can only imagine the horror that is under that hat…! I had mud EVERYWHERE! My face is still dirty even after I cleaned up! ha ha ha!!! In my hair,…from adjusting my hat…in my pants…from sitting in the grass to pull sod…and even in my shirt…for reasons we still don’t understand! I won't even show you my fingers!!! In the famous words of Grammie…”the only thing white on me was my teeth!” Needless to say…I am happiest when I am just a little on the dirty side!

I had my well deserved shower and got busy to share the view from inside the greenhouse! I am saving the slight transformation to the yard for another day…so you will just have to wait!

DSCN3216

In spite of the dreary weather, the greenhouse is growing like crazy!!! I have blooms everywhere I look!

DSCN3217

You would not believe how wonderful it smells in there right now!

DSCN3222

All of the containers I have planted are doing well.

DSCN3219

The Marigolds finally started to bloom!

DSCN3223

I am finally getting excited…it is actually spring!!!

DSCN3220

DSCN3221

My greenhouse is starting to look the way I like to see it!!! FULL!

DSCN3224

I am anxious to start bringing this year’s crop outside to harden off and get planting!!! I still have a few weeks to wait, as the last frost hasn’t come yet!

DSCN3225

Until then, I will enjoy the view! (except for the bikes…it’s perfect!) Until the garage is built, there isn’t room in my shed for the kid’s bikes…so they stay in the greenhouse when they are not in use. I am looking forward to the garage!! ha ha!

That’s my flaunt…now…how about yours???? I can’t wait to see!

What are you waiting for??? Go!!! Flaunt!!!

Hugs , smiles and wishes for a safe and happy weekend with friends and family from Tootsie and her gang in Zone 2 Alberta Canada!!! I am going to be around to see all of the party participants as soon as I can, and the rest of you too!!

Until Next time…Happy Gardening!

*)*)*) to my three winks, it sure is good to see you haven’t run out of ways to amuse me and make me giggle!!! While I was out and about this week, I was thinking : We all make mistakes ... I am not perfect, I don't always know what to do, but at least I keep trying and never give up. It sure seems that the one who gets so upset when they are confronted with the facts is ALWAYS ...The one who was guilty.

First of all, you have the bluest eyes! You got dirty but the blue of your eyes showed your smile still. :-)

Everything is looking awesome in the greenhouse.

The best part of the greenhouse is always the smell--I love that rich earthy scent.
And getting dirty is fun too-especially if it brings a beautiful garden. Have a great weekend, Tootsie!

Hi Tootsie, You are such a professional - your greenhouse flowers look as good as any in the local greenhouses/nurseries I've visited. You're amazingly talented, Tootsie! Have a wonderful wknd. Looking forward to watching the development and growth of your new home and gardens.

Busy time of year. Your growing season differs drastically from ours, but the end result is wonderful in both cases. I'm starting to see voluteer seedlings, always a thrill.

Glenda,

The greenhouse looks great, so many blooms almost ready to go outside. I spent the day in the dirt trying to get some things in before they die in the flats and pots.

''It sure seems that the one who gets so upset when they are confronted with the facts is ALWAYS ...The one who was guilty.'' Ain't it the truth!!

Your greenhouse looks wonderful--so much in bloom already! My marigolds are blooming indoors, too, and like you, I need to get on it and start hardening off flowers to get them planted outside. I'm in the middle of a lot of garden projects right now, but hope to have some fun before and after pictures to show in the next few weeks--if the weather cooperates, and it's supposed to, starting this weekend! Take care!

I can see a lot of work was done in planting before the greenhouse looked like this! Just gorgeous, full of colour and lots of flowers for your new home.
