HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together , snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and a link to Tootise Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!
So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!
In my neck of the woods, it is snowing, chilly outside and kinda cloudy. Nothing growing, except maybe the snow piles from the sidewalk. On the inside of my little greenhouse, it is tropical and warm.
I have a few houseplants in here for the winter…okay…I have lots. haha
My Loofa is growing along nicely…I am so worried I will kill it…that I don’t even look at it much. It seems to be loving that…so I’ll just keep doing what I have been…so far so good! :)
Most of these plants in the greenhouse have to be moved back into my house when I start the planting of the annual seeds here in a few weeks. Some will stay in the garage for a bit.
I have been cleaning, organizing and pruning…trying to get everyone in shape to go in the house…where the light is not as good, and the air is much drier.
My big old Geranium is blooming again…
…so is the purple Nico Swedish Ivy…remember a couple of months ago when I cut it right back? I love how this plant can grow!
The blooms are not showy…but they are a nice surprise when it’s winter outside.
My cacti that I started from seed is growing slowly, but surely…
Everything is happy in here…
The Begonia in the middle was cut right back last month, and is now blooming and looking like a nice round ball. I planted it two years ago from a seed.
Philodendron is very happy in the greenhouse this year…I took a cutting from my large one in the house last May and this is how great it is doing!
One of two Banana plants that I started from seed. This one is two years old now. I can’t believe how large it is getting…especially since last year there were bugs like spider mites, aphids…you name it on here…I had to cut it back several times. I just cut it back last month as it was getting much to large for the house…and the greenhouse!
I have been busy setting the scene for the spring plant…sorting out trays, liners and pots. I purchased some bales of soil, and am just waiting for them to thaw so I can get dirty!
A final shot from the window of the greenhouse door, as I close it tight for the afternoon…Oh how I wish I could just stay all day long in my little haven!
Now…it’s your turn…show me what you’ve got! I hope you are all ready for the holidays!!! I am almost done, still there are last minute things, and one more gift to buy. The kids finish school for the semester tomorrow…and it’s GAME ON!!! They are so pumped up for Christmas, and excited to share in the Christmas Concert at school tonight!
Until next time…hugs and smiles…and wishes for a warm, safe and happy weekend to you all! Many thanks to all who are linking in this time, it is such a busy time of year, and for many of us, there is nothing to flaunt!!! To those who just visit…big hugs!!! I will see you all very soon with a seed list for this year! I am soooo excited! See you soon!
oh…and to those three very special winks who visit so often, and who just love to love little old me…MWUAH! *) *) *) You know who you are…:) Good luck with your holiday endeavours!

Hi Tootsie, I don’t think I’ve told you this but one of our dear family friends is named Tootsie and we love her dearly. It’s a GREAT name. Ok--I LOVE your greenhouse. I would so love to have one here. We are covered in snow and I don’t have anything to link up with you right now but I so enjoy looking at everyone else’s. Did you buy a kit and put this in and was it somewhat reasonable? Did you order it from a company I could look up?
Thank you gardening guru,
Amy from Verde Farm
Hi Tootsie, I think your greenhouse is like a tropical paradise and I imagine you enjoy spending time in it. Do you ever sit there and read?
Hi Tootsie, You are amazing. Your plants look so vibrant and green. I wish I had your green thumb. I do have quite a few African Violets in my house and a Dollar Tree that is growing like a weed but outside I struggle to get things to grow. I love your greenhouse too. My poor potted plants are outside in the cold, rainy weather. They manage to hang on til the summer though. Enjoy your weekend.
Wonderful sights in your green house. that would be where you would find me always. Love those banana plants. from seed? you are amazing!
Your greenhouse plants look very happy and healthy tucked away in that warm cosy spot!
I've just posted for GBBD on my Bush Bernie blog, so today I thought I'd add a post from my other blog ... a look at some lovely tropical flowers. You can still find your way to Bush Bernie's Garden Blog through the sidebar if you wish to look at lots more blooms.
Sending wishes for a fabulous festive season ... I do hope you and yours have a great one!
I'm not participating today. I do enjoy looking in your greenhouse and learning from you. Remember the loofah has to have a strong support to climb on, it will flower, some flowers will fall off and some will have little loofahs right behind them...looking forward to watching it grow with you.
I so envy you that greenhouse! How do you heat it? I would love one, but I'm afraid I would have to sell a kidney to pay the darn electric bill in winter!!
Merry Christmas!
Hi Tootsie, Your greenhouse looks like an oasis - an instant trip to the tropics in the middle of winter! Does it cost a lot to heat a greenhouse? How warm do you keep it? Do you put your banana tree in the ground in the summer? Is it one of those "hardy" banana plants, or a regular tropical banana?
You are such a busy lady and a fabulous gardener. I do enjoy visiting!
Come see me today. I'm showing one of the largest, if not THE largest coleus collections in the midwest. (No, not at my place! lol)
Merry Christmas Tootsie! Thanks for hosting!

I am still so jealous of that greenhouse but I also realize you have a lot of work ahead of you.

Wonderful tour of your greenhouse. What a lucky girl you are!

Your greenhouse is so nice. Everything looks happy in there. Enjoy it's warmth.
Hi Tootsie,
This is my maiden voyage into your realm of Fertilizer Friday. I'm so happy to embark on this journey.
Your greenhouse is so well-organized and neat. No wonder the plants are flourishing! Great job!
See you at the next flaunting'
