Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers! Jan. 21/11

Copy_of_001

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together , snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and a link to Tootise Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

This week I am sharing some views of the gardens in their current state…and some photos of what’s growing in my greenhouse! Yes…I said GROWING! weeeeee!!!!083

Not much to share here unless you count the three feet of snow in the backyard!

080

My poor little fountain is almost hidden!

079

There are times when a girl just wishes she didn’t have this much sidewalk to shovel! lol

074

It is going to take FOREVER for all this snow to melt off and dry up enough for me to dig in my gardens…

073

…and there definitely WON’T be any tea parties in the garden room!!! Not for a while anyways! *)

HOWEVER:

071

It’s warm in the greenhouse…and things are getting along just nicely.

056

Those ferns seem to like it on top of the bales of soil…

059

Remember this? Yep! This is the cacti that I planted from seed a few years ago. Over the summer I decided to transplant it and broke the two tall ones off a little bit…remember???

065

I am just so fascinated to see them grow…but they do grow slowly!

063

Those two pieces that I broke off the mother cactus….well I popped them into some soil…and walked away. Watering here and there when I get the inspiration…do you see???

064

Yep!!! They rooted!!! AND….one of them is getting an offset! wooo hooo!

057

My Jade is doing well.

054

The Loofa…well…best I can say is that I haven’t yet killed it! Give me time…this too shall come…Just because I want them so badly.

051

The Grape Ivy that was almost dead…is growing like crazy! I think she likes it in the greenhouse!

067

I like it in the greenhouse too. I like it so much that I plan to spend every spare moment in here that I can from now until the day comes that I can plant in my gardens! I have prepared for Petunias, Dahlias and Geraniums so far. I am just dying to get planting…and the WAITING is killing me!

My seed order went in on Tuesday…and I even tried to go to the local garden shops etc to see if I couldn’t get even just ONE package of seeds to hold me over until the mother load arrives…and well you probably can figure out what that result was…ugh. *(

Okay…well if I can’t see sprouts and blooms in my own gardens and greenhouse…then I am coming to yours! Get out there and get snapping those photos!! This Tootsie wants her weekly fix of the most beautiful gardens in blogland! I’ll meet you there!

Don’t forget to fill the linky box in and join me!

One more thing before I go. If you follow Tootsie Time…and I am not yet following you…Please let me know…I WANT to follow you! If I am not yet…I am sorry…sometimes being a good mother, causes this Tootsie to be a Bad Blogger! *)

Until next time…when I announce a huge and very exciting garden event…I wish you all hugs and smiles..and a safe and happy weekend!

and to those absolutely amazing three…*) *) *) I just feel a tickle in my tummy when I think of you all! MWUAH!

Hi Tootsie, You definitely have a green thumb! I love your greenhouse as I'm sure you do too. It must help keep a northern gardner sane, huh? I think I need one! lol
Hugs and blessings, Beth

I am so ready for the winter to come to a close. I actually found seeds the other day at home depot. I couldn't leave without a couple of packs, morning glories and moon flowers. It made me feel better to pretend it was time to plant them. Have a great weekend!

Your plants in the greenhouse look healthier and lovelier than those I have out in the sun. You must have been radiating lots of love to them.

This is my first link to Fertilizer Friday.

Glenda, I sure don't have the operation you have but I am going to use plant lights again this year. We will see how I do!

That's a lot of freakin' snow girl! When will it begin to melt? Your greenhouse looks good, really good. Soon you will be able to move the loofah outside on a STRONG support, the gourds are heavy until they begin to dry....:)

When you said you were going to grow loofa I thought "oh yeah sure" - I cant believe you have loofah growing in your green house with snow outside! You definitely must have green fingers!

Hi Tootsie,
I was surprise to see that the greenhouse look so warm when you have so many snow outside. You are very organise with all the pots looks like a nursery over there. This is my first time joining in your meme. I hope you can join us for seed week and share your experience with us.

Hi Glenda
I don't think the comment I left this morning registered some how.
It was interesting to see your greenhouse, what a nice place to play when the weather's cold outside.
I used to have a tiered grow light system in the basement but donated it to a youth group garden club a couple of years ago along with my heat mats, pots and everything else I could help them out with.
Thanks for hosting.

With the exception of your budding greenhouse, your backyard looks much like mine - white!!!
Love your posts, keep it up!

Hi Tootsie! Well it looks like your 'enjoying' the same type of weather that we are! Good to see the greenhouse is open and you have stuff growing! Amazing!

Your snow-covered garden photos certainly cooled down my day! How long does it take for your garden to dry out when the thaw is over?

Such lovely things flourishing in your greenhouse. The ferns are terrific and how wonderful to see the cactus take off! It's nice to see your Jade doing so well ... and you've managed to keep the Loofa going very well!
