Fertilizer Friday/Flaunt Your Flowers!! June17/11

Copy_of_001

WELCOME!!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.
So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

It has been a busy week…full of decisions, drama and hustle and bustle in my house. I spent a lot of time at my children’s school this week, as I have had to deal with a bully issue that my oldest daughter has been having for quite some time. This has been ongoing, and I have been trying to work with the school all year long regarding my daughter and the issues she has been having. Today…Tootsie had enough. My oldest daughter has been pulled from school and will not be attending one more minute of grade 5 this year. The police are now involved as is the newspaper and the school board. I don’t plan to be a total stink maker, but I do plan to see some results!

The rest of the week has been equally as dramatic and busy here in Tootsie’s World…but that is just a regular thing these days…lol

I was originally planning to take some photos of the vine on the front of my house when it was dusk, so that we could “ooh” and “awe” at how nice the lights look in there…as well as the other places in the garden that I have added some lighting…but…it was pouring rain most of the evening and into the wee hours of the morning this morning, and that is not my idea of a fun time in the garden…so…you will have to settle for these instead…and wait with baited breath to see those photos next time! ha-ha-ha!

Here’s what you will have to settle for this week:

DSCN0359

A very windy overcast day…and it’s started to sprinkle…so the photos are taken in a rush…lol

This pansy/marigold pot is doing great! These are left over Pansy’s from the planting I did with my youngest daughter’s kindergarten class this year for Mother’s day…

DSCN0360

This seems to be my favorite photo spot this year…I am loving the way the perennials all came in and are doing so well.

DSCN0363

These colors pop in the light at dusk…almost glowing…

DSCN0379

Here is a daytime shot of the vine I wanted to share in the evening!!! Oh it looks very pretty when it’s dark!

DSCN0388

I love how all the colors and types of flowers seem to live in harmony in my gardens…I so wish people could be that way…we are so complicated sometimes!

DSCN0341

…but such is life…if it were all black and white…how boring would that be!

I close with hugs, smiles and wishes for you all to have a safe and happy weekend. Thanks to all who have linked in, commented and visited me this week. I am sure that some of you already know, I have been trying to get around and through the list of comments to answer and ooh and awe at your posts too!!!

I consider myself a fortunate gardener to have so many wonderful followers…so if you are not familiar with some of my blog list blogs…check them out…you won’t be disappointed!

Until Next time…happy gardening!

Sorry to hear your daughter is having such trouble at her school. As a teacher myself, I know how difficult it is handling bullying issues. I hope there's a happier time for her in the near future.

Things are looking terrific in your garden ... loved the perennial garden bed. Your vine looked gorgeous in the daytime, but I will be looking out for the night-time shot!

That perennial bed is looking good! Sorry to hear you are having bullying problems, that is always so worrying. I had similar problems with my son, but at the time there was very little we could do about it.

I finally have enough flowers to warrant a FF post!

I feel for you dealing with the school. Good luck, hope your district is much better than ours. Ours seems to want the one being bullied to change classes..huh! I will never understand how they think. Our Dr finally had to get involved and he pulled my son out of the school. I won't bore you with all the details, but we had to hire an Advocate and fought from 5th until he graduated from High School. We got alot of their policies changed, so the future ones will benefit.

Your flowers are gorgeous even on an overcast day! Love your porch! Anxious to seee it at night ♥

Really sorry to hear about bulling troubles, hat's off to you for saying enough is enough! Hoping for a positive outcome for all.

Your perennials beds are so charming. Hope the rain and wind settles down, it's been wet and damp here as well. Cheers, Jenni

Sorry about your daughter, that will pass with lessons also for the bully. Your pansies are great, my favorite, however they dont seem to be growing in our climate. Thanks again for hosting.

Middle school girls are so clickish and can be such bullies. I have two daughters and my youngest was bullied from 4th-9th grade. I finally ended up pulling her out for a year. Sorry yours is experiencing it, too. Good for you for taking it seriously.

Your flowers look beautiful. I love your perenniel border.

I am glad to see you take such a stance with bullying. It is such a difficult situation, I am sure. Your flowers are lovely and I am looking forward to seeing this vine (what kind is it? I am thinking Virginia Creeper?) lit up and some of your other evening photos. Our tornado watch passed without event. How's the weather there?

Your daughter must be feeling so much better now that she isn't in that environment that caused her so much pain. You did the right thing.
Good thing you had your lovely garden to get away to... what a haven.

Good morning!! Love your color combos. I agree, we could learn alot if we just listened to Mother Nature, like our flowers do. A whole lot.

Hi Tootsie,

Sorry I didn't get around for FF today, can't seem to get everything done lately. Your garden is looking great, my pansies are frying in the heat.

One of my sons had a bully problem in high school that didn't end until one of my son's "bigger" friends told this older creep to back off. I had been involved somewhat but the school did nothing and my son didn't want it to be public. Frustrating.
I think it is even worse with girls as they make it very personal. Good for you for taking control of the situation. Be on the lookout for the Facebook bashing that can go on too. Even if they are too young for the FB accounts they still have them.
