Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Nov. 4/11

Copy_of_001

WELCOME FRIENDS!!!

I am so happy you stopped by!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and
Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

This week…I have no flowers or plants that are worth sharing. In fact this area of Alberta saw a little snow this week!

Halloween was a busy event in my house, and the rest of the days seemed a flurry of activity for me. I am still behind in my catch up commenting project…lol…but I am making progress!!! I can’t remember a day where I just had time to sit and relax…I will not bore you with the details of the hurry up and run situations but instead lets get flaunting!

I thought I’d take today’s post to show you the one and only annual that I have still got growing and in my possession!

DSCN2036

In the early part of the spring Proven Winners sent me a tray of annuals to trial for them. This is the Calibrachoa that they sent me! I didn’t dump it when I dumped all the others as it still looked pretty good…so I set it in the greenhouse. She is now living in my sun-room. It isn’t looking as nice as it once did…but …the weather is not warm…and the days are shorter…and …and…and…ha-ha-ha. Enough with the excuses…I LOVE Calibrachoa and I am keeping this one as long as I can!

DSCN2032

This is one of the three colors that I have.

DSCN2029

I think this terra cotta colored one is my favorite. I love the deep reds and browns in there!

DSCN2034

This is a cheery one with the bright pink and yellow…I hope they all stay blooming for a long time!

That is all I have to share! Nothing else to show! So? What are you waiting for??? Get your flaunt ON!!!

Wishing you hugs, smiles and a safe and happy weekend…thanks to all who have taken the time to visit, comment and flaunt with me! It is an honor and a privilege to have the chance to host this party!

Until Next time…Happy Gardening!

*)*)*) to my fabulous three…and remember: ~ Know your worth, stand your ground and NEVER settle for less than you deserve!! ~

Hi Glenda,
This is my first time linking, all the way from Australia! I love those bright and cheery flowers you have showcased today! I hope your move goes well, you are a real inspiration!

I love callies and these look like many of the ones I had growing all over in containers...can't beat them for a reliable annual that takes all kinds of weather..

Oh, Tootsie! I hope you get kind of caught up this weekend. So much to do. One task at a time. Thanks for getting the Friday meme together.

I have my greenhouse questionnaire completed but I'm holding it until you've settled a bit. It will wait and plants will grow meantime. We're working on the doors -- always some maintenance in every garden project.

Hi Glenda
Your calibrachoa lasted much longer than mine from PW but the colours were vivid. I even put some in the ground and they were happy.
Our temperatures have been mild the last couple of days, I wonder if there is such a thing as a second Indian summer? :-)

That's a lovely selection of colours. I've only tried Calibrachoas once before and I think I might have to give them another go now that I've seen these fabulous colours.

Glenda, So busy, and yet time to put the party together, you amaze me! The calibrochoa amazes me, too. What a beautiful plant. All three colors are luscious. I'll be looking forward to see if it blooms all winter for you.

I hope you can take some time to relax just a little...worried about you, dear lady.

I wish I had thought to bring mine in....yours is still gorgeous. It would certainly brighten up the place. I wonder if those can be cut back severly to really get it going again in spring??

You are a busy Lady. I am going to buy that tiny petunia in the spring. They look so beautiful in window boxes. Yvonne

I love them to pieces to Glenda. The ones they gave you have such pretty colors. I hope they stay around for the winter to go into your new garden.
You and the kiddos have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs.

I have a small pot of those still on my steps and still blooming even after the frost. I still have a few annuals on my front porch that are looking pretty good. You always help us to enjoy God's beautiful blooms not matter what season we are in. Blessings!

Hi Tootsie... I really love calibrachoas... tried them in the ground a few years back... 100 plants... and it was far from a success. They do well in baskets for me, however. The rest of the gardens will be cleaned out this weekend and that will be it for almost six months... seems hard to believe that we can get through that long a winter, but we've done it before and will do it again!! I love those Calibrachoa ... thank you for sharing them. I don't think I saw those this summer at my local garden centers so you are lucky to have been able to have these in your garden. I would have totally went with the terra cotta in my containers!

Happy Autumn Dear Friend!
