Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers June 29/12

Copy_of_001
HAPPY FRIDAY AGAIN!!!! I am SO glad to see you!
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing! You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly! All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.
So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...
I don’t have a lot to share this week…it is all waterlogged and wind whipped!!!  We have had a week of rain, wind and storms!  It was a good week to get a lot of things done in time for the kids to be out of school for the summer!  Today marks their last day, and tomorrow we begin summer holidays!   I always thought that life would be easier and not quite so busy once my kids got a little older…but MAN was I mistaken!  The bigger they are the more running I seem to do!
My kiddies are going to be away from me for the entire month of July, and I am sure I am going to be lost without them…I have never been apart from them for that long…so this could be interesting!
I managed to get around and see all the gorgeous posts you all shared last week…and am eager to take a peek or two at this week’s shares!
Lets get this party started!!!!
In and amongst the weeds in my flower beds right now there are a few pretty things blooming.

Tiger Lily…A favorite of mine.

tootsie peony

My Peony is not my favorite color…but still pretty…pink with white touches is quite delicate.  I wish it was a deep red or burgundy one…8-)

I am not sure what this bush in my garden is called.  It was already growing when I moved in.  It is blooming!

There was two of them…but one did not survive the winter.   It is quite delicate with it’s little balls of flowers and dark foliage.

Portulaca…

Osteospermum…

…is one of my favorites…I love how the different colors are all in perfect tune on the blooms!

Verbena is always a treat in my gardens…I just love the way many things seem to be just as pretty as can be in spite of the adverse weather we have been having.
Well…that’s my share…now it’s YOUR turn!!!  I can’t wait to see!
I wish all of you hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans! Thanks for dropping in and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to finally visit you…THANK YOU!
Until Next Time….Happy Gardening!
*)*)*) to my three special winks….don't get mad when circumstances in your life are a result of decisions you made.  One lie ruins a thousand truths. HUGS!

Love the Osteospermum with the hints of blue in the yellow blooms. Your mystery shrub is Ninebark or Physocarpus. A good choice for the garden and great foliage.
Yep you have 2 Diablo Ninebark bushes...I love them and they are a native plant here...lovely blooms amongst your weeds :) My blooms are peeking through the tall weeds too

Hi Tootsie!! I am finally remember to join you! Thursdays are always a bit hectic and I totally forgot to link up last week- I had a giveaway for iris too- darn Oh well this week it is my fairy garden I am showing off.

Hope all is well with you friend. It is terribly hot here in Colorado so the gardens are not up to par.
Hi Glenda,

Your blooms are lovely. I do indeed believe that you have a Pacific Ninebark....a very lovely Northwest native. I wish I had room for one of them.

Thank you for featuring my blog post on your Facebook page.

Oh, love your peony! A gardening friend gave me a pink one back in May so I can't wait until next Spring/summer for it to bloom. Had to leave my Sarah Bernhardt in the frozen ground when we moved 7 yrs. ago..broke my heart, because my dear MIL had passed it on to me many years ago. Now I don't have MIL or my beautiful peony..I miss them both!

Hi Tootsie, it is nice that you'll be less busy this school break. I've been busy too, and missed joining in a few Fridays. The love verbena too, but the plants don't last in our tropical heat. And your peony is a sweet colour.Glad to be able to join in this week, and I'll be flaunting the plants in the RBG Melbourne whicch I visited last month.

I know it's hard to be away from the kidos for a whole month, but just use the time to re-charge your batteries, do something nice for yourself--eat good food, buy the best ice cream, take long naps and bubble baths read good books, watch chick flicks and anything else you can think of. They will come back full of energy to be sure! Where in Cali. are you going? Hugs Carol
Hi Glenda: Thank you once again for hosting the garden party! I love your Tiger lily--gorgeous, and always reminds me of Peter Pan! Weather was hot one day this week, and completely downpoured rain and was cold for several days. I only just dared plant cukes and pumpkin outside, and even then under hoops and plastic. We'll see. Going into a rainy but fairly warm weekend, which is not so bad. Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm working on my Friday Flaunt right now... I've been tweeting a bunch on Twitter using #FlauntFlowers as well. I had a few people re-tweet the mention to go to TootsieTime.com to join in your linky event today! YEAHHHH

OK - NINEBARK is my favorite in my Ohio garden and I love what is doing in yours!

Happy Growing - your friend in Ohio!

Hi Glenda,

The Ninebarks are wonderful shrubs. I have Summer Wine which is a smaller variety.
