Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Sept. 14/12

Copy_of_001

IS EVERYBOY READY!!!! IT IS FRIDAY!!! FRIDAY IS FLAUNTING DAY!!! I am so glad you stopped by!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing! You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.
So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

Today I am going to flaunt some photos of Canada with you. The following photos are from the trip across Alberta and B.C. that I took this summer.

Welcome to the Ancient Forest. This amazing inland rainforest is located east of Prince George B.C. It is not a very easy to find place. The signage is rather small, and unless you are looking for it…you might just miss this amazing place which is one of BC's best kept secrets.

Just park your vehicle and take a stroll along the trail…

DSCN4043

…and into the ancient past!

Some of the trees in this area are between 1000 and 2000 years old! That is a LOT of history !

DSCN4045

As we walked along the path into this beautiful forest…time seemed to feel very different. With the huge cedar trees towering …and I mean TOWERING over us, we almost had a feeling of timelessness!

DSCN4051

Even the air smelled different…almost a sweet smell.

DSCN4052

This magnificent place was almost overwhelming to take in. Just the sheer size of the trees that stand majestically was hard to believe!

DSCN4057

The intense beauty of the simplest things in the ancient forest was hard to describe. It was difficult to take a photo that would share the girth of the base of the trees…

DSCN4058

…or the height of them.

DSCN4064

The foliage is just breathtaking to look at. The entire location is so peaceful and serene.

DSCN4053

This is an attempt to show the massive size of the trees…(I wish I had a better shot)

DSCN4054

(well…at least I smiled in this photo ha ha )

DSCN4060

We spent almost a full hour just looking around and taking in this beautiful place…It was like walking into another world.

I am glad I have the opportunity to share a few photos of this ancient forest…and give a little glimpse into the things Canada has to offer!

Okay kids…that is all for me for this week…now it is your turn.,,,

What are you waiting for??? Get flaunting!

I wish all of you hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans! Thank you all so much for dropping in today, and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to finally visit you…THANK YOU!

Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

Wow I didn't know they had ancient forestry there like that! That's really fabulous! I need to get over to Canada more often and see a few places I've read about. It's been years since I've been there. Thanks for showing it and giving a tour!

You are so privileged to experience the ancient environment. I haven't been to such places yet, not even seen the giant trees in the US. We only have centuries old trees but not in an ancient forest. Thanks for touring us too!

Hi Tootsie... beautiful! This puts me in mind of Joyce Kilmer's poem 'Trees', except I seem to recall it a bit differently in this 'modern' age.... "I think that I shall never see, a billboard lovely as a tree... indeed, unless the billboards fall.... I'll never see a tree at all!"
Have a great weekend, Larry

Glenda,

It is so wonderful to see such old trees. They must have been amazing. What things they must have seen in 1000-2000 years.

Simply gorgeous! I love places like this. It reminds me of Alaska. There are just no words that describe this beauty. Thanks for sharing these pics, truly enjoyed them. And I know what you mean about the smell of the air...so fresh and clean. If I had to pick a happy place it would be in the forest ;)
