Do you know what day it is???
It’s Friday !!!!
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!
Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.
The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted
So?????....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...
This week, I finally had to admit defeat and let summer go. I pulled the last of my yard, and put things to bed for the LONG Alberta winter that is looming above our heads.
Industrial drum liners are just big enough to protect my rocking chairs from the elements a bit…I also covered a few other things for the winter.
The front yard is drastically different from last week…it is so empty! I am thinking about putting some Christmas greens in the window boxes…but need an idea to slap me in the face to motivate me! lol
I hate how dreary an messy and ugly everything is at this time of year…winter is WAY too long!
I wish we lived in a climate that it got cool out…but that I could still grow things outside…That would be okay for me…but this 8 or 9 months of dreary cold dead winter is just too much! Since there is nothing I can do to change things…
I need to come up with an idea to spruce up this view just a little…any suggestions???
I am open to suggestions…those window boxes need to be filled with something…so let me have it!
Well….that’s it for me for today…
SO? What are you waiting for???
GO!!!
Get your flaunt on!!!
You can link as many posts as you like…I don’t mind seeing lots!!!
Thank you all so much for all the wonderful comments this week... and WELCOME to all my new followers…and to those that loyally follow me and faithfully link in to this party…AND who are patient while waiting for me to FINALLY visit you…
THANK YOU!
I appreciate you more than you know.
Stay tuned Sunday/Monday for the next installment of “The 108 Year Old House” There is a LOT to share!
Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

I always feel a little depressed when plants in temperate countries or my blogger friends succumb to winter, just like yours. I remember the lush, colorful, happy flowers and the time and work that went in producing them. Oh if i am in your conditions, i might not be gardening anymore, as it is always so sad when they go. If only you are in a subtropical setting, maybe your efforts will be better rewarded of longer lives of your plants. Oh....if only!!!
From where I come, we've never seen snowfall. It's always sunny and beautiful. Winter gets chilly but plants love that climate too especially winter vegetables. Planting nothing is also needed for the land to revive.
Medium??
Doing a happy Dance this week weather is wonderfyl and the colors are awesome.
Haven't heard from you in so long. Have a great day...

I found some conifers that are claimed to be hardy in zone 3 that you might plant in more sheltered areas. Snow will break up evergreens but if you had a little bit of shelter like a pergola?
Even here the dead of winter can be kind of dreary when the deciduous trees lose their leaves, but it's a short winter. We still plant evergreens for color. I would have to have something or go live in the greenhouse.
I would be tempted to use faux evergreens in the window boxes. People here do it all the time.
I know you'll find a way.
