Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Feb. 21/14

Copy_of_001
Welcome!!!

I am so glad you stopped by today.   I love Friday’s…it is the start of the weekend…and…
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me really…there is no one else here…lol)  It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”

Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.

The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted

I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

Another crazy busy week has come and gone already and here we are…embarking on the weekend again!   I am amazed at how fast the weeks are going by…and how much I always have on my list to do!  I will be in shock if the day ever comes that I have nothing to do…and will more than likely end up in a funk because I don’t know how to NOT be busy!

I am happy to be able to join the party again this week!   I got to spend a few hours in the greenhouse, and have managed to clean up the huge mess that I had going in there…and I planted the Petunias!   Well…most of them anyways.   It takes a long time to make space in a very messy, crowded little room…a lot of my tropical plants had to be walked from the greenhouse to the house so that I have space to plant the annuals!   Lucky for me, the weather had taken a turn for more milder temps this week, and I could bring a few more inside until the spring comes and I plant all the gardens.  Needless to say, my house looks like a jungle right now.   (not that I mind)   I need to find a way to give all the plants enough light until they go back to the greenhouse…this house is NOT plant friendly!

Here’s what’s going on in the greenhouse right now:

I still have a few tropical plants in the greenhouse…but not too many…just enough to make a tropical feel…which is a MUST when you live in a winter wonderland!

SOME of the plants need a serious hair cut before they get to come to the house…this one is very happy I here…and is almost touching the floor!

My old geranium is blooming again…yay!

I love how healthy most of the leaves are on my plants right now.   I did have some damage happen to a few things when the temps dipped very low in here a few weeks back…I don’t ever want to have that happen again!

This guy…well I am going to hold out as long as I can before I bring it into the house.   It hates it in the house…and is looking so good right now…it would be a shame to set it back!

I planted quite a few trays so far!   Not even close to being done…but it certainly is a good start!

My babies are having babies!   yay!   I am planning to put spider plants into my annual pots again this year.  I loved how nicely they all looked mixed with the annuals last summer!   I am glad it turned out so well.   I have a hard time throwing out cuttings if I know they would be able to grow…so now I have a good reason to root them all!  hee hee!!!

Well…That’s all for this Toots for this week.  Maybe…just maybe…if I get lucky, I will have something to share with you guys next week too!

It’s your turn now…So GO….FLAUNT!

You know you wanna!

Until Next Time....Happy Gardening!

Spider Plants in combination -- I do that too. Mine are with Wax Begonias and Foxtail Fern.

I made two links this week: Greenhouse Breakfast inside, Camellias in the Garden.

Thanks for the greenhouse tips in the previous post.

Hi Tootsie, I always love to see your flowers here. I didn't link up but my current post shows our camellias blooming now. Happy Friday.

Hi Glenda,

Happy Friday. Your greenhouse looks like it is getting going now. How nice it will be to see your sprouts.

Looking great! It's one of my dreams to get a greenhouse, especially now that I've moved up north. In the next couple of years, hopefully! I'm still in seed ordering stage, though I've winter sowed some. This gives me motivation to get on it!

What kind of heater do you use when it's this cold out?
