Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers August 15/14

WELCOME!

I am so glad you stopped by today.   I love Friday’s…it is the start of the weekend…and…Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me really…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”

Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.

The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted

I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

You will have to bare with me…I know you have seen most of my garden already a dozen times…but I don’t have a lot of new views to share!   So…in spite of looking repetitive…I am sharing what I get to look at every day.   I am happy to go out and water each day…otherwise I would not get to see too much of my gardens.   Life is WAY too hectic anymore…and I am on the fast train to the land of the burned right out.

I cannot post as often as I would like…so I share what I can, when it’s possible.   I will explain the reasons in a future post.   Today is about flaunting…and that is what I am going to do!

My garden has a few things going on…

In spite of the absolute neglect it has suffered with us being away so much this summer…

I still have a few blooms left to show.

When you look at my photos…

I beg you to overlook the weeds you might see.

You see…there is a major complication that causes my garden to have challenges like nothing I have ever had to deal with in the past.

On the other side of the fence you see behind the hydrangea in this photo…Holds a vegetable garden with a serious issue…
BeFunky_049.jpg
You see…this yard is a nightmare.   It is right next door to mine.

Yes….Yes …what you are looking at …
BeFunky_051.jpg
....is a garden the same size as my back yard….that holds weeds as tall as my fence…and so thick one can’t see the soil below.

Last year, I faced a challenge from the man who lives here…we affectionately referred to him as the “king of (the weed spray)  round up”     He would spray his yard and the wind would carry it to my garden…lol

….This year…Not so much.

Ugh…

I seem to be dammed if I do and dammed if I don’t.   I either have plants dying by accidental over spray…or I spend the entire summer trying to keep some sort of handle on the weeds that are encroaching on my gardens.   That old fart next door is lucky we like him…or this could get ugly fast!   I offered to help him with the situation in his back yard and he flatly refused to allow me to touch even one leaf….so I might have to deal with it when he goes away one day.  I can’t stand it any longer.

It’s a really good thing…

That I have little things like this to look at in the mean time!

This is the end of the flaunting from my Alberta garden…I hope you will flaunt your gardens, and wow me with your blooms!

Until Next Time…Happy Gardening!

*)*)*)… I'd rather be rejected for being who I am than accepted for being someone I'm not.  At least I don't have to keep track of my act...I can just be me!  Can you? Just sayin'

I have two posts, one is linked at the bottom of the other because I have so many Bloom Day flowers to show.

Looking forward to see your August flowers.

I am so sorry that someone is trying to ruin your fun on this site. I, personally love your site and the great photos and information you provide for the rest of us. Chalk it up to jealousy and never give in. It will get boring for this, person eventually and I hope they ride off into the sunset leaving you unscathed.
Sincerely a loyal reader, Pat

I guess the good thing about your neighbor is soon the frost will kill of the weeds and you won't have to see them growing? (-:
Other then that everything on your side of the fence looks beautiful. I understand how you feel. I feel the same way here too. Looking forward to fall.

In case you need a translation for the German post: Your garden is incredibly beautiful. I love your greenhouse.

Your neighbor's yard looks like my raspberry patch--no rain, the sage has to be dug out, and it's been too hot to work outside for long. Wanna come to my place? I wouldn't interfere with you eliminating some weeds.
