Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Feb.18/11

Copy_of_001

Good Day! Happy Friday!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

Before we begin I feel that I need to re-state the pre-requisites for this little party. There isn’t that much, but it seems there has been some confusion amongst a few participants.

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootise Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

It has been another crazy week here in my household…I have planted the Geraniums and they are almost all up by now, but they are not going to be flaunted for a few more days. The greenhouse has been cleaned and organized a bit more for the upcoming plantings…AND things inside the house are coming along nicely. I have been putting in long hours each day trying to get everything done that needs to be done…some days I go 18 or more hours before I finally get to just relax!

A very fun renovation is almost ready to begin here. I am still in the planning stages so I am not going to share the details yet. If and when the transformation is complete, I will absolutely be sharing it with you!

For This week, I will be sharing a warm thank you to all who supported and participated in the giveaway, and Fertilizer Friday last week as well as a couple of photos…both current and past.

034

I can’t wait to get my hands on some sweet potato vine…the bright green always sends thoughts of spring running through my mind!

033

I am loving the blooms on my Orchids that Costa farms sent me last week…

030

The intricate blooms are so enchanting!

026

I can’t wait to put my bird bath back together…or make another one…this one has sustained some damage over the winter…so may need to be replaced…

029

I am excited to work with the bright colors of the snap dragons again this year…such a cheerful bunch!

061

I can’t wait to see if I can get the Lavatera to get taller than this!

065

They did so well in 2009. It ‘s always a challenge to get taller than the years past for me. haha

008

I am also tossing around the idea of building my flower tower again this year. I kind of missed it last year.

044

I just need to find a way to make sure the wind doesn’t knock the pots off this year. No worries…I will figure it out!

I am also tossing around the idea of using morning glory again…kind of like I did here in 2006 to hide the sides of the tiny greenhouse that used to sit where my current one stands tall. I might use it this year to make some ‘walls’ on the tree house…or whatever…they are pretty when they bloom!

What are you planning this year? Do you have changes in mind for your gardens? Additions? I know I always start dreaming about the season to come as soon as I get my seeds!

Stay tuned for next week, when I share some more with you all…hugs and smiles and wishes for a safe and happy weekend! Thanks to all who popped over to visit and who linked in this week!

Until then…happy gardening!

*)*)*) to my very special three…You know who you are! xoxo

Lavatera on steroids maybe? :-) There sure don't get that tall here in Ontario.
I have plans to remove the rest of the grass from the backyard, and there isn't much left now. I've also contacted a landscaper that specializes in hardscaping to come and give us some expert advice.
6 C here today, boy was that nice.

Happy Fertilizer Friday, Tootsie!
Wow, you have so many garden plans for this year. I also plan to have morning glory this year (I never had it before). Also the new additions to my garden are lily-of-the-valley and a peony. I can't wait for them to grow.

So many lovely colors and blooms...Truly inspiring me to want lots and lots of big full flower beds...So lets cross our fingers I can get it right this year.

Love the morning glory wall btw, maybe you could try a wisteria one this yr *wink*

Best of luck with all your wonderful plans.

All this orchid talk got me looking through photos. Although I have not been brave enough to grow them, I do admire from afar. It was 50 degrees today but it will bottom out after tomorrow. Just a teaser, sigh....

I promise I haven't forgotten FF. I just haven't had much happening in the garden, but it won't be too long before there are more blooms. I've already dug up and moved a bed around with more digging to go. We're in the middle of a big front yard project.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you get started in your greenhouse again this year.

I see you have been dreaming about what to put in your garden. I too have been thinking about flowers and colour combinations. Great idea using the morning glories, I use them to grow up our two story deck. Have a great weekend.

Wow! I have never seen such tall Lavatera! Looking forward to seeing what you do in your garden this year. I've been doing a lot of seed sowing lately too.

Like your idea of morning glory vines looking so nicely controlled not like mine, growing wild all over the fence! Looking forward to gorgeous blooms from your garden soon!

Lovely dreams that you will see soon...I have dreams of no snow and green and brown ground...that is a start!!

Our snow is slowly melting but we are predicted to get more next week. It is so nice to see a little green in the garden even if only for a short time.

All these lovely flowers are what I always dream to have in my garden too. They are breathtakingly beautiful!

I have been asked to be a garden on a garden tour so that makes me very nervous. I have many areas that will need some clean up and rearranging to be presentable. I don't grow many annuals because they never seem to look like yours. Hmmm.

Your flowers are amazing! They look like the ones seed and flower catalogs take photos of! What do you use for fertilizer? We keep back yard hens and use our own home made cock a doodle do in our gardens. I am a North Eastern Gardner and today I'm introducing a special friend of our garden and a sneak peak at 2010's spring blooms.. We are still buried in snow here!
Fun idea... I look forward to seeing more gardens today!

I've got some succulents to replace, and since they're my favorite that's first on the "to do" list. I was excited to have my first Amaryliss this year and today picked up my first Orchid. I love them, but have been afraid to try them...threw caution to the wind tonight and picked one up! Love, love, love your flower tower!! That is definitely something I want to try this year.
