It Is What It Is…

I thought I’d take today’s post to show you the current state of my greenhouse!

Caution…the contents of this post caused this Tootsie a lot of anxiety and some tears. (I’m ok now though! Ha-ha)

DSCN1986

The move is inevitable…and a greenhouse is a must in my world. There are restrictions in the new house, and things are running a bit behind. Thus, a decision was made. I will take as much of this greenhouse as I possibly can…and use it again until the time comes when I can build a bigger one.

The yard at the house where I am moving is not as large as this one is, so a bigger greenhouse is really not an option. The season has changed to winter, and time is of the essence…so I think that doing just what I have been for now is a good idea. I also am not living there yet…and it is three hours away from me…so being there to oversee a new style go up would be difficult!

So…we take the greenhouse down.

DSCN1990

First I emptied it all out…took the blinds and all the shade screen down.

DSCN1992

YOU BOYS BE CAREFUL WITH MY GREENHOUSE!!!!!!

Then the ‘men’ got to work on the plexi walls and all the screws that are holding it together…My 12 year old son was so excited to help out. He really is is mom’s boy…Loves his power tools too! hahaha

DSCN1996

Before long…the bare frame was all that remained…the roof beams are already gone and the plexi was all moved aside to make room for more dismantling to get done.

DSCN2000

It was not a good day in this Tootsie’s world…I was very emotional about taking my space apart. Seeing it all laying on the grass was so hard to look at. Even though I know it will all be back up in a few weeks…it was still a difficult thing to say goodbye to it standing where it was.

BUT…Tootsie put her big girl panties on…and worked up quite a sweat…

DSCN2024

The greenhouse doesn’t seem quite so big when you put it all in the trailer now does it? I am actually kind of surprised it took up less than 1/2 of the trailer. hahaha…

It’s all loaded up…and ready to head to the new place…I just hope we remember what goes where! haha..

DSCN2009

The yard will now have just a patio that is 12x20 feet big…and a gas line that the new people can put a heater on if they want to. It is a nice big space for a party!

DSCN2011

My yard sure does look big and lonely without the greenhouse now doesn’t it?

Just is NOT Tootsie’s Space anymore.

I already miss my greenhouse. It is my safe place…where I go to take the edge off all of the stresses in life…I can’t wait to get the next one up!

I better get going…that greenhouse is not going to build itself you know! Off to better things…new challenges and a lot of work!

I will be able to begin to share photos of everything very soon!!!

I hope I will see you all on Friday for the Big Flaunt!!!

Until Next Time…Happy Gardening!

*)*)*) to my three!!! I am learning that if you truly desire a change in your life, you have to be willing to let go of what you know and sometimes go outside of your comfort zone!

I figured you'd get a bigger yard so there would be MORE flowers!

The new people can put a gas grill on their patio. I'm glad you can take your greenhouse with you and use it until the new plan works.

Way to go girl! Use what you already have and that has worked for you in the past. Later on down the road, you can make another one.

Love and hugs to you and your kids as you make the move.

Oh, I would have cried. I'm practically in tears now just having read this. Soon you'll have it up and running again. Hang in there, Tootsie!! One door doesn't close without a window opening up somewhere.

True words Glenda, we only grow when we move out of our comfort zones kicking and screaming all the way.

The greenhouse will arise again, still wish I had room for one.

Know it must have been hard seeing your pride and joy being taken apart. I am so glad that you are able to take it with you though!I know you will have your new place looking so very Tootsie before long!

Sorry for not being around much- have had company for almost a month and my computer or blogspot is giving me fits with posting and such so haven't been on much.

Don't work too hard getting your new home all dolled up.

Who was helping you besides your son? You'll find that he will start being your protector now, even though he's still so young. Great post although I know it was very emotional for you. Wished I could have been there to help you. Thanks for sharing this post with your fans/followers. We feel like you are a part of our families.

All your followers/fans wish you the very best and we are here to support you emotionally. You will come out stronger but I think you're already stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Looks like you have changed a few things so I can post here,. Thanks!

Glenda, I would have cried during this job, too. (Gads, this has been a rough Fall!!) I am happy to see your son helping and I just know you will have a greenhouse up and running at the new house very soon. Leaving things and places we have loved is so difficult; my heart goes out to you. What a wonderful patio you have left behind for the new tenants, I'm sure they will appreciate it.

I can already see your new garden blooming in my mind's eye. I know how comforting a greenhouse is, even though mine is only up from April to June, it is my favorite place to be during that time with the smell of soil and green things growing.

This will all work out, my friend.

Wow it does look very bare... I have had to start over before. My children were only 3 and 5 when I got divorced. It was not easy, but we did it! We used to sing uplifting songs when times got tough. My children are now adults (28 and 30) I was sure I would never get married again but I did and I have been happily married now for 19 years! There is a light at the end of the tunnel and sometimes it is really good... It just hard to see it now. I wish you the best!

Glenda, you're leaving the floor of your greenhouse there? Is there a reason you can't take it with you? How long have you lived there? Was that deck already there when you moved and maybe you constructed the GH over it? You mentioned something about gas grill availability for new owners.
