Have you ever walked into a garden and taken a look- no…I mean taken a REALLY GOOD look?
With a quick glance you will notice various colors and plantings around the garden…
…but get just a little closer and you will notice all sorts of things that you don’t see if you aren’t looking! The details on the bloom petals is just so precise…every little petal, or stamen, exactly perfect.
There are some blooms that are simple…and pretty. They boast just the basics. Then there are the intricate and complicated blooms. These are the drama queens of the garden.
When a gardener plants all the different types of flowers. fragrance and foliage, it makes a very nice mix…and a huge statement. Different leaves, colors and textures all mingling together to create a paradise for the senses…
There are variations in foliage plants…solid leaves,
variegated leaves, long/large/small leaves, fuzzy or smooth leaves and ferns.
For me, it is the mixture of the foliage against the pop of color that the blooms offer that grabs my eye.
Different or unique plantings or containers are a huge attraction for me. The old coal cans, cream strainers and cream cans hold a special place in my gardens.
Every planting is special to me. I create my corners, beds and containers from things that mean just a little to me. Some beds have a special plant that a friend gave me, some containers hold a memory of the day I discovered it…and still other areas of my garden have a piece of art in them that adds just a touch of sentimentality to them.
I do so enjoy wandering my gardens on a sunny afternoon, snapping photos to share with you all…I am excited to show all that is growing and changing in my private oasis each day.
Until next time…happy gardening

Your gardens are so amazing and you should take great pride in them..Thanks so much for your email. I figured with your greenhouse that you grew your annuals from seed. Did you ever sell them like maybe at a farmer's market? I know you plant them in your own yard but I was just thinking that since you are such an amazing gardener that you could make some extra money on your fantastic talents!!
Have a great week!!
Hugs,
Debbie
