A Piece of Cake

This is about the best thing I've ever read as an explanation.
We all wonder many many many times over WHY? (I know I have been asking this a lot lately)

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?"
Here is a wonderful explanation!
A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she ' s failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."
"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers.
"Yuck" says her daughter.
"How about a couple raw eggs?"
"Gross, Mom!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?"
"Mom, those are all yucky!"
To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! "

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times.
But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!
God is crazy about you.
He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He ' ll listen.
He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

So very true. It's too bad though when we're going through the storm we can't always see the rainbow on the other side. All we see is the storm. Great Post!

Yes that is a good explanation. God is good and sometimes we don't see the good, but we do have to trust. Great post. God Bless. Hugs, Marty

My daughter went through a terrible break up of her 11 month marriage in November. I asked that question too. I was heartbroken to see her so devastated. I kept telling her things would get better and she kept saying when?
I told her things take time and to take one minuet at a time.
Things have brightened for her just like I knew they would(-: It is hard to imagine that at the time though!
Thanks for the story.
I hope you have a great day!!!

This was a wonderful explanation! Didn't think you'd be posting the last few days so haven't stopped by to check. Glad I did so I could catch up! I've got daffodils sprouting and the trees are starting to bud, but little else is happening here, so don't feel bad! We're supposed to have a rainy week, so probably no outside cleanup! nancy

As humans we're so fragile. If only we came into the world equipped to fend off pain easily. And to make it worse, should our experiences in our young life not ready us...then what? Some are doled more than others, too, so it seems. The bottom line...we have to trust in our Savior. Maybe that was him knocking on the door and I was too busy to answer.

What a wonderful post! Just great, I think we all can use a piece of this cake. I love the part where we should dance. For I always say: Dance like no one is watching. I done it so many times, with a little glass of wine. Doc took away my white wine, and I am to drink red everyday. That was a year ago, I can' find a red I like. lol

Hi Tootsie,

Just a little visit to see what you are up to today. Some trees are starting to get flowers here, so I was thinking about you when I saw them. Looking forward to seeing what you do in your garden this year.

Take care....

Checking in on my angel that has carried me for a week now. Hope your week-end was great and I think about you everday. I am with dad until next Sunday. It's lonely here without mother. So many reminders. Dad doesn't want anything moved. I maded mother a huge grapevine wreath to take tomorrow to her grave. It will be the first time we have been there since she has been gone. But I have all spring items until I return again for mothers day and then her birthday. Tootsie how do I thank you for all you have done for me! I just don't know how!
What can I do for you!
I want be on her too much for there is a lot to keep me busy and my sissy is here too.
Love you
Anita
