Another Fertilizer Friday...and some proof!

Okay ladies and gents- listen up! It is time to stop pussy footing around this greenhouse and houseplant issue....it is time to give those plants a kick in the roots! Get your big boots on guys....grab your hose (watering can) and some fertilizer....and lets get busy! No more lazy daisy's...make them do what plants are supposed to do!!! GROW.
Have a great weekend...happy fertilizing!
Now..without further adieu....I thought I'd give a little proof that I have not been on vacation...and that I actually do follow my own Tootsie Tips...This ugly mess is my grass and back yard BEFORE I touched them.

Remember when I did that post about Waking up the grass? If you don't....click here I got the thatch blade mower out....and did some very intensive exercise!
Look at all that thatch! It took me 9 large yard waste garbage cans and two large garbage bags to pull off all of that after I fluffed it up! Yes...yes I was filthy and could hardly walk after...even had grass clippings in places best left un-described....(in case Picket drops by) lol
The other day I found out that it takes Two men (grown strong men) to hang a shelf....
And it takes these same two men as many minutes to hang said shelf as it does for one Tootsie to power rake and pick up the thatch from two yards (front and back) this size! I did mine and the guy next door....just to be nice!
Then.....I fertilized the grass too! If you want to know more about the fertilizer we use on our grass and other little tid bits about greening it up...click here for a post called The greener the Better . Don't you just love it when you can link to your own stuff?

First!!

Tootsie, I fertilized on Wednesday because I transplanted on Saturday last and did not have an MG at the time, I fed them in the morning and my super helpful son decided to water them in the evening! how soon should I fertilize again?

And I mean he REALLY watered them!

Oh Tootsie, I can commiserate we just did the same thing to our lawn and hauled just as many huge bags of thatch away last weekend. Jacob strapped on the pokey shoe thingys and we scattered seed. But I can say that the brown patches are starting to fill in nicely, even the spots that Miles helped to water over the winter. You deserve a medal for doing your neighbor's yard as well. ~ Robyn

I wish, I wish upon a star that I was tooties neighbor and not so far (away). You sweet little neighbor you. I did water this morning all the plants that don't get wet (under the front and back porches). I use the already fertlized bags; does that count.
You are just so amazing you need your own landscaping company girl.
I have never thacked this yard. I have seen farms come in and do the neighbors yard; maybe I should look into this. Thanks for the tips toots. Have a wonderful Mother's day my friend.
I fertilized yesterday. I also planted some more in the vegetable garden. Love the spring!

Everything looks lovely there!
I ran out of fertilizer and since I was sick last week I never got to the store this week to get more. So it will have to be a Fertilizer Saturday for me(-:
Have a happy Friday!!!!!

Are you crazy woman? With a yard that size you don't have a ride-on? Don't you think you owe it to yourself to get one so your work will be soooooooooooooooo much easier?
I can definitely see the yard transforming. This is fun! Only 'cause I don't have to do any of the work.

Justine :o )
I promise I'll fertilize as soon as i get a chance to plant!! I bought some fleurs but it's been raining here so much! I'm impressed with your stamina! You go girl! God Bless! Lauralu
Yay for Fertilizer Fridays!

Why do I not have your energy??!!?? And the neighbor's yard too??

We are surrounded by oak trees, and have to rake so much in the spring that there isn't much left to "thatch" once the leaves finally quit fallin'.

Besides the annual bug fight to keep the bugs from devouring my flowers, plants, and veggies, I have the annual weed fight with the backyard, so I've been killing the multitude of weeds and trying to fill in the patches with some Bermuda. Maybe one day I'll have a pretty lawn like yours.

Anxious to see all your hard work come to fruition!! I know it's gonna be beautiful. I'm like Jennifer - by the time you get your gardens all up and goin' good, the heat and humidity will have done mine in!
Got hubby to agree on the fertilizing thing and will start this Sat since we new at this ;) French
Wow I bet you slept good...... the yard is a lot of work.... but it will be magnificent in a short while.....
