Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Aug21/09

Hey all!!! It is Friday and that means it is Fertilizer Friday....and we get to feed and Flaunt our Flowers!!!
Grab your feeders...and get busy feeding your houseplants and gardens. After you are done ...grab your camera and take some photos to flaunt with me! Link yourself up to the mister linky below...grab the photo above and link that back to my blog...share your garden with the rest of the beautiful and talented gardeners out there!
I missed sharing last week...but made up for it this week with a boat load of photos! I was away all week...so please pretend there are no weeds in these photos!!! Here's my offering...
My header bed...
Begonia from seed...and calibrachoa...
Look at the progress on this Beta Grape (I thought it was dead)!
Got one of my Mums in place. ( I don't think they are perennial here for some reason)
That garbage pot again....not so trashy now at all!
Big bike bed...wish I had gotten a better angle!
The Lavatera under the garage windows finally took off ....AND is blooming!!!!
Heliotrope is finally showing itself off!!!
Just laughing at the dichondra emerald falls that finally showed a leaf or two! lol
Had to raise up my big pots...they were dragging on the ground. The wind from last week's storms has done some damage to the shape of them...but they are still alive!
The bench is sure filling out nicely too.
Nicotana, marigold, snap dragons....and what's that I see?????
Yep! It's a Rudbeckia ! It is called chocolate orange....
A hosta in the corner of the outdoor room behind that bench...pretty purple blooms
A Banana plant that I started from seed...
Monkshood making his big grand entrance!!!
I love the color of it!
Side garden....that Malva is sure a healthy volunteer!!!
The honeysuckle is getting ready to bloom for me again...
Dahlia
Dahlia
Beside the treehouse....
another view of the big pots...see the damage from the wind? Oh well....they still rock!!!
While I am trying to do anything....this weed-like terror stalks and helps me. He loves the keyboard of my laptop. He's growing like weeds...and even knows how to walk on a harness with a leash now!!! He's a regular bug!
Finally, I would like to thank you all for the kind comments and prayers for my Parents and my family this week...Keep them coming! (the prayers that is..okay and the comments..I love hearing from you! lol)
Okay....link up ladies and gents!!! I wanna see what you have to flaunt this week!!!! Remember ...there is no such thing as an ugly bloom...garden or plant!!!!
Please do share with us! I will do my best to get around to see everyone...internet is sporadic here the last few days!

Oh my your place just keeps getting more beautiful all the time!! I don't have any pics to share as my gardens are so lacking flowers- I did make up some cow poop tea a few weeks ago and fertilized this week but I don't think you want to see pictures of that- you really don't want to smell it- phew wee!! But it is a cheap and good fertilizer - we have all kinds of cow pies at our land- plus am trying to get away from the chemical fertlizer.

I love that monkshood- would you be able to share a little about it- annual? What regions does it grow? It is a gorgeous plant!

You are such a cockeyed optimist. There is such a thing as an ugly garden and if I wasn't so ashamed at how bad mine looks right now, I'd show you! Do you hand water everything???
I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers and I know God will hold you all in His mighty hands. Blessings on you and yours.

Oh My goodness do you have great flowers or what? Your gardens are awesome! That monkshood is such a pretty color but not as pretty as your kitten is adorable. I can see the mischevious spirit in her eyes. Hope your dad is doing well. Have a great Friday.
I may just retract my entry after seeing your beautiful post...everything you touch is gorgeous...APPLAUSE!!!!!

Oh how I could only dream of having flowerbed like yours.. How do you maintain the stone walk.. just mow it? I love it, would love to do something like it.. do you have a post on how to do it?

Wow, Tootsie-your stuff is looking great! How come your things don't have that "nearing the end of summer rattiness"???? I've been deadheading, etc, but so many of my pots look TIRED! Help?

Tootsie,
Everything looks lush and colorful as can be. I don’t know how in the world you keep those planters looking so good. We never have much luck with them, either the rain beats them down or the sun burns them. --Randy

I don't know how you do it! Your yard is FABULOUS! I have decided that I am re-doing all of my beds next year, live and learn! I absolutely LOVE the bike with the mums!

Gooooo Tootsie - your flowers are amazing! They just get better and better. Love your tricycle - lots cuter than mine. What are you feeding those Malvas? They look like mine but about 3 times the size. Maybe they are a different kind.
Glad to hear your Dad is doing good - I'm sorry I haven't been around and didn't know he was in the hospital. We'll sure be keeping him in our prayers.
Mine was back in the hospital too and got out yesterday. Maybe he's going to fool us all and stick around a lot longer.
It's looking so great there, my garden seems to be winding down a bit and yours seems to be getting better and better every week. That Monkshood is huge, mine has been in place for almost three years and is about half that big! I also love the big pot of mums in the bike.
Glad to see your Dad made it through the procedure well.

Sorry to hear that your Dad has been in the hospital. He will feel so much better when they get the blockages cleared out. My Mom is feeling so much better after hers.

I always get so jealous when I look at your beautiful flower beds. ;-) Your pots are always so full and pretty. Mine are about a mess now at this time of year. Even your grass is greener. Just not right I tell ya girl ;-)
Tootsie, your flowers look awesome! Totally. Awesome. Mine seem to be getting tired of looking beautiful. I guess you & I can relate to that, huh???? I think we just need more sunshine & heat. Maybe next summer will be perfect!
Am glad to hear your Dad is doing so well.

Oopsie, so sorry, I linked in twice. If you have to delete one, please delete the first.

I'm sorry to hear your dad has been having some health issues, but it's great to hear that he'll be on his way home shortly.

Your yard is looking great! So neat! And still so colourful too. Mine is very lush and full but also messy ... I tend to give up on weeding in early August and just let nature take its course. I'm too busy trying to get all the veggies canned/frozen/eaten before they go bad or the frost comes.

Thanks for hosting FF again! It's always a joy to tour everyone's gardens.

No pictures from me this week - too busy - leaving for vacation today after work. Love all your plants and flowers. Okay, how do you start a banana plant from seed? Do bananas have seeds?

I just called the hospital where my Dad was being treated!!!! HE WAS RELEASED----DISCHARGED...and they say he is doing well!!!
Thanks for all your prayers, emails and well wishes for my family!

Glad to see the note that your Dad is discharged!

What a magnificent garden you have. You can be super proud.
Look at that sweet innocent face. :-) That doesn't look like the face of a terrorist to me...all sweetness and innocense. :-) LOL He is a cutie. I think Max needs a little buddy like that around here.
Tootsie, I sure hope your garden is on the local garden tours...it's amazing! I know your growing season may not be as long as we have here...but wow, things down here just don't stay so lush in the heat. Your gardens are just beautiful!

We've had no internet service all day (ours comes via satellite and it got knocked out with the storms of yesterday). So no chance for me to participate this week. We were under tornado watch last evening as well. Luckily for us there was no damage, but others to the north west didn't get off so lightly.

I know, I know, it's Sunday and not Friday. I totally forgot to post here. But, this Friday, I've got Casa Blanca Lilies, Seafoam Roses w/Queen Ann's Lace, and as always petunias!
