Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Oct. 15/10

Copy_of_001

Once again I am here to say WELCOME to all you Bloggers!/ Gardeners!/ Friends!!!! It’s Friday again already and that means it’s time to flaunt our flowers, gardens and all things green!

Now if you are not familiar with the rules of this little party…here they are;

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and a link to Tootise Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

Another crazy crazy week here in my house…run run run…seems to be the thing that I do best lately…and I am so glad that the week is almost over. The busiest part of the fall season is finally coming to a close for me…just as hockey season for my son fires up! (go figure) I am looking forward to a simple quiet week next week for the most part…and some serious blogging time! I still need to share Thanksgiving…oh and I will…and it will be a magical post! haha…(one of you know what I mean!!!) hahaha

anyways……

It is fall here…and that means cooler weather most of the time. This year, it seems that the killing frosts showed up early, and then moved on after forcing me to pull my flowers. The weather for the most part has been warm and mild this week. (nights and early mornings have a cool bite) The leaves have fallen, and things are looking very plain in my gardens.

Today I am sharing my adopted little sister’s garden. I think the best way to describe her garden this year is “au natural” (who care if I spelled it wrong…you get the point!”

Grammie and Grampie took me and the kids out there one cloudy Sunday for a little visit in the rain. They adopted Bobbi shortly after she became an employee in their store…and almost immediately she and I became fast friends. Grampie has someone else to tease and pick on…and Grammie has someone to take the heat off of me in the ‘giriling ‘ up department… Yes…I said girling up…and I am sure you get the idea… She is the very best little sister I could have asked for, – cuz she is wearing skirts that Grammie talks her into…and I don’t have to!!!!! hee hee!!!! (she’s such a GIRL!!!!) hahahaha! We get along like best buds…and we have a lot of fun when we are together.

I love this garden because it has a cottage feel.

Hi Bobo! Oops! I mean Bobbi…I took your picture!!! (she didn’t know I am sure…’cuz she’s not hiding her face-or making a gesture of any kind….)

Bobbi commented that this spring her heart just was not in the garden feeling, and she did not do anything except maybe mow the grass…nothing at all. This pretty little bit of garden path is all volunteer.

The weather blew them around a little bit…and they are beginning to get pods at this point…but I thought it worthy of a quick flaunt…especially since I robbed her of some seeds when she wasn’t lookin’….and then she sent a full bag with Grampie a short while later…silly girl.

I didn’t get any shots of the dry river bed that she built around the deck. It is loaded with driftwood and rocks and accessorized with wagon wheels and other little relics…next year I will get some more for sure!

These are soooo pretty!!! simple and almost plain…they innocently seed themselves and just bloom their little pods off!

!cid_0808001407abobbi

Bobbi has a nice big acreage…this is the view from the front of her house. If not for the power lines and telephone poles…it would be a picture perfect view. The kids drove the quads all over the farm to their little hearts content that day…in the rain.

Bobbi and I are soul sisters in many many ways...not only do we share Grammie and Grampie…we are both single moms of lots of kids... (I have 3 she has 4 –she’s just that much crazier than I am…lol) each a son named Brayden, we are hockey moms, and have similar situations in our lives all the way around. Grampie and Grammie are never at a loss for a grandchild to snuggle or play with.

It is nice to have someone so sweet and silly in my life…(even if she is just a little twerp of a sister…and is lots younger than old Toots here) …we seem to take turns feeling like….

THIS…but when we do…we always know we have each other to lean on!

Thanks for the wonderful Sunday at your farm Bobbi…I did enjoy the day!

Okay guys…now it is your turn…flaunt for us!!! Remember…there is no such thing as an ugly garden!

Until next time…hugs and smiles, wishes for a wonderful safe and happy weekend…and to those very special three…I just wink and shake my head…’cuz there’s just no words to describe what I am thinkin’….at least not words that wouldn’t need a censor button!!! haha… *) *) *)

What a lovely garden your sister has. Just love the 'volunteer' path! How lucky you both are to have each other ... having never had a sister myself, I think anyone who has that relationship is so lucky.

How wonderful that you both have so much in common ... meant to be! Enjoy the rest of your Autumn.

What fun you and your adopted lil sis have together, and all of your similarities makes it cute too. I like your phrase "girling up".

I thought I'd better update you on the state of the greenhouses. Poinsettias are coming into color already.

Sorry about the cold weather killing off your plants and then doing an about face with warm weather again. Too bad because I still have some amazing color out in my back yard. The frost has stayed away so far!

Hi Tootsie, your adopted sister has a beautiful garden, too. How fun to have her in your lives! Isn't that just the way the weather is, though, just has to freeze to kill everything and then turn warm for a bit, but at least you have yours 'put to bed' for the season, you were smart! Wish I could say the same. Thanks for hosting!

Hi Tootsie,
Your sister has a really lovely garden and such space, great for the children to play in!
HI Tootsie! I haven't had a chance to join in for awhile, and I've missed your posts.
Sounds like you and Bobbi have a great friendship, how lucky!
She does have a pretty place, I'm jealous of all that open space. The poppies look perfect where they came up.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time at Bobbies farm! It looks so peaceful there. A great place to get away to!
