Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers! Nov 12/10

Copy_of_001

Okay Kids…! It’s Friday AGAIN. Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together , snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and a link to Tootise Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

Today I have nothing new to share…so I am going to reflect on 2008’s garden. For me it is a bitter sweet reflection.

017

This was the year when my life changed 100%.

008

The year that I began to learn a lot about what I was made of.

003

I'm a whole new me today from who I was then. I've said goodbyes that I've never thought I'd ever say, I've cried tears that I never should have been made to cry. Lived a horror that no one will know completely.

BUT…

In spite of all that was happening in my life that summer…I pulled an absolutely gorgeous display off…

001

…if I do say so myself! This photo became my header bed shot. I look at it to remind myself how just being a little determined can get a girl through even the most difficult of times! I am proud of this journey I have been forced to take. I have followed my heart…and held my integrity, dignity and found strength in spite of every obstacle I faced…those who underestimated me, have just begun to see what I am made of, and I can’t wait to share! *)*)*)

This week coming up, I am working in the greenhouse a little bit…and placing the seed order for next year’s crop! Maybe I should take you guys on a tour of the seed sites and the greenhouse as it is now! (time between other obligations permitting)

I can say that I am excited about the crop for next year…I have some very good ideas…and am anxious to see the seeds…get them planted and start planning! I am also excited about my newest adventure…but I can’t share it until I finish it….(soon…very soon)

Until next week…I wish all of my followers hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans! Thanks for dropping in and to those that faithfully link in to this party…THANK YOU!

To my special three…who spend a lot of time on my blog checking in…I send you some winks *) *) *) … it really is refreshing to see that your passion has not faded for me!…

and to one of you in particular: Have fun and be safe while playing with your “toys” this weekend! (and …when you cast others aside, remember this: One day you, too, will be cast aside, and those you left behind may not be there waiting for you.*) )

I became a follower. and a link. Now about those Cigs . It was the hardest thing I have ever done. They
told me I could smoke through the radation and chemo. I promised I would stop. It took three tries. You have to be ready to stop. I got that from the doctors. I was under
real stress thinking I might live with a bag, God let me have a second chance.. yvonne.

Toots, I think when life hands us bitter, bitter lemons it's to make sure we finally find out just what fabulous lemonade-makers we truly are!

Sounds like you've discovered just how amazingly strong you can be ... a hard lesson to learn (speaking from my own experience!) but well worth it. I'm sure your comments will resonate with so many, like myself, who've come out the other end stronger and wiser.

I found the garden such a refuge during horrid times, just like yourself, and it's definitely the place to restore and soothe.

Very inspiring that you have had so much going on and still accomplished so much gardenwise. Sometimes I find that when things are poopy in life, the best place to be is digging a hole for a plant and sitting back after and taking in the whole process. blanks my mind of troubles. Glad to hear you are overcoming whatever has dragged you down. You can't keep a good woman down! and sometimes it takes tough times to find out just what strength you really have.

Tootsie, you have such a beautiful garden which is truly a reflection of you, the gardener! What would we do without our gardens, what a source of solace and strength they can be during good times and bad. I haven't linked up the last two weeks due to posting retrospective flashbacks, but I look forward to when I can link again. Hope you have a great weekend.

You are a strong woman Glenda. I never could say you wouldn't go through pain but I knew you would get through if you kept your eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel.
And you know I always picture you in that greenhouse, in that wonderful refuge.

I think sometimes our garden get more of our attention when times are bad. Gardens are delightful and there is such a good feeling about growing things. Glad you can look back and see the beauty of your garden.

Keep on keeping on Tootsie. I think we amaze are own selves sometime after we look back and see what we were able to stand and come through in the hard and heart breaking times in that come into our lives.
Looking at these pictures of your garden I am always dumbstruck by the beauty of your flowers.I just love looking at all of the color in your garden beds. I could only wish I could get my petunias to grow like yours do.
I am a little late getting in on FF, but this has been a day of running around for me.
Have a wonderful weekend with the kiddos.

I missed this Friday..but I will NOT miss next Friday! I cannot tell you how many times I have dragged the hose out and messed with how I want my extended patio to go. And I pulled up all the red apple and planted it with fern and flowers. So much better but they already need to be "deadheaded"..
The mum's I mean.
I love that you reprinted the photo's of your yard. GORGEOUS! I hope you had a wonderful, peaceful Sunday!!
