Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Dec 3/10

Copy_of_001

Okay Kids…! It’s Friday AGAIN. Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together , snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and a link to Tootise Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

Again I am here with a blast from the past collection of photos. The weather has been fairly mild but it is still winter in Alberta so there’s nothing to show! I found myself overwhelmed last week with everything going on around here, and didn’t have the energy to read and comment on posts. I am just about ready for the weekend- that is until something else pops up that I need to do. I will be a way for a few days and hope to have time in the early part of the week to get commenting…should I miss out on that again, I would like to thank all who have joined in the linky this week, and previous weeks. I will eventually get all around as I have to get busy and start planning for the new spring landscape here in my yard and I always gleen a little inspiration from my very special gardening friends! Until then, I will be thinking of you gardening away while I sit freezing my bum in a hockey rink losing my voice cheering my son on as he plays!

I have scrounged up some photos from 2009 that inspire and remind me of some of the seeds I MUST order for this new season that will be upon me soon…(but not soon enough!)

image

I can hardly wait to see the green…of the vines, trees, grass and all the wonderful flowers just filled with the promise of blooming! I miss wandering around the yard with my garden hose admiring all the different colors and types of plants!

image

I MUST order LOTS AND LOTS of Pansy seeds this year. I didn’t have many last year and I really missed them.

image

I always order Dahlias. One year I didn’t plant any…and was disappointed that I missed out on the beautiful display they never fail to create.

image

Wave Petunias…Silver Tidal Wave to be exact…this color gets the biggest of any of the colors I have ever planted…They are very pretty too…white with streaks of purple in them…they are wonderful container displays.

image

Lantana…Mine didn’t survive the winter…and who wouldn’t want these bright colors?

image

The last one I will share today is Swedish Ivy…this is such a pretty silver hanging plant…it is just glorious when it gets big! It helps make all the other colors in the garden just POP! It is also possible to grow this as a houseplant, although I have never managed to get one inside in time to save it from the killing frosts. Perhaps this year I will simply plant a couple just for that purpose along with LOTS to add to the flower beds and pots outside!

Now…it is your turn. I hope you all flaunt your little hearts content!

Hugs and smiles to you all and wishes for a very happy and safe weekend. I look forward to seeing your name in the linky and on a comment or two!

Until next week! I send very special thoughts out to you all…and to those three special fans who just brighten my day with their visits…*) *) *) I just wish I could find the words to express how I feel about you all! (but alas, I am sure by now you know exactly what I mean! I just wish wishes really did come true!)

Hi Tootsie, you and I are in the cold part of the world, snow this weekend, no flowers poking through until spring.

Hi Tootsie! Thanks for sponsoring Fertilizer Friday. It's winter where I live too but I can travel, I have houseplants, I can go to the Botanical Center, etc...gotta get my flower fix. Here's wishing you a great Christmas and a joyful New Year.
Blessings, Beth
