Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
Before we begin I feel that I need to re-state the pre-requisites for this little party. There isn’t that much, but it seems there has been some confusion amongst a few participants.
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!
So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!
wee!!!! look!!!
Yes sir!!! Those are Petunias!!! Wave Petunias to be specific! I am so glad they are starting to come up. I love going to the greenhouse…opening the door and seeing the green plants that fill the space!
The smell in my greenhouse right now is just glorious! It is starting to smell like plant life. I don’t know how to describe it any other way. The atmosphere in there is so calming, that once you are there…even if you have nothing to do …you just want to stay!
The whole house is almost planted. What is planted so far, is all that I want to put in for a week or two. For example, the Marigolds will go in around the 15th or 20th of this month.
I have more seeds…don’t get me wrong…but if I sow some of them too early…they won’t look good for long! If I had a larger greenhouse, I could use larger containers to plant in, or have the option of transplanting to larger pots…but unfortunately (for this year anyways) I have to carry on in my current habit.
Have you started any seeds yet? Is spring showing in your area yet? It isn’t here…but we are hopeful!
I wish you all a happy and save weekend…thanks to all who have commented and participated in Fertilizer Friday for the past couple weeks. I am behind with so much, and unfortunately, being a good single mom of three sometimes makes Tootsie a bad blogger! You get the idea…right?
Next week…I hope to share the finished project I have been working on a few minutes at a time…kids and work are keeping me very busy!
Until next time…happy gardening!

Your little ones are coming along beautifully. No seeds started here yet ... it's still too wet and dreary to get out and do very much at all.
Tootsie, the plants in your greenhouse look so glorious to me! I can just about smell that earthy, ALIVE smell from here. I am so awed by your greenhouse and the organization, it looks so professional. What a beautiful sight.
Hello Tootsie, hope all is well with you! I had to laugh at the thought of you and larger greenhouse! Girl..*when* you get one..you going to need to get a new job..town flower container planter because you won't have enough room in your beautiful yard! Cheers to you..I love your green house growing..it's inspirational! Best, Jenni in Oregon
Yes, I started seeds for some veges but it has been raining since yesterday night, some of my 'chay sum' seedlings has been uprooted. How I wish I have a shelthered green house like yours. Good job on your little babies!
Hi Tootsie, your sprouts are looking good. If only I could be as organized as you are! Lovely greenhouse.

I finally got petunia seeds to germinate myself Tootsie!! I now know what smell you are speaking of in the greenhouse...it is delightful!
Hi Toots~
I can't wait to see your gardens....I've been working furiously the last 3 weekends in ours. Replacing, trimming, sweet talking....my only true survivors were my knockout roses. I'll be taking pics this week so I can link up next week. =)
Love ya~ J
Can't wait till April I will start planting my seed then. My house sitter will not water them.

You and your greenhouse are amazing!!! The sheer number of plants you can grow is awesome. Love seeing the little sprouts in there.
Oh your seeds look as if they are coming along nicely! The Herb seeds I planted are coming up too, but nothing photo worthy yet so today I posted my Peonies in Bloom from my 2010 garden... enjoy!

So exciting to see those first glimpse of green leaves peeking thru the soil...I know you are going to have another amazing garden this year.
Blessings Kelsie
Your petunias are popping up all over. It is such a good feeling to see things grow. I check mine every morning to see how much they have grown over night.LOL! You know what they say about the watched kettle. :-) Your geraniums are really looking great. Happy FF.
I envy you your greenhouse. I do pot up a few trays of vegetables but have no room for much more. Tomatoes and peppers will go in by the end of March. Next week I will get my fix of smelling soil and flowers at Canada Blooms. Yeh. V
Nice!
No, planted several Fall Gold raspberries I picked up at Tractor Supply.
Almost forgot about the garlic and shallots I planted. They are sprouting now.
Hi Tootsie,
I got your message and will watch for the package.
I have started some seeds under lights but nothing to match your plantings. I am just hoping most of them survive.
Eileen
Can't wait to see your place all bloomed out. It'll be so pretty Tootsie.
There is nothing in this world that compares to that smell...glorious!
*hugs*deb
Your greenhouse is so cool! I worked on a new hanging basket this week...and used styrofoam in the bottom like you suggested in your pots. Thanks, Mumzie
Thanks for buzzing by my blog! I'm here to return the love! Is that your garden in the header?? Gorgeous!!
