Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers April 1/11

Copy_of_001

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

Before we begin I feel that I need to re-state the pre-requisites for this little party. There isn’t that much, but it seems there has been some confusion amongst a few participants.

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?” Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must be garden related, and include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted. I don’t mean to be harsh, but there have been a lot of people linking in and when the participants graciously click over to their blogs, there is no sign of Fertilizer Friday anywhere to be found. This is not fair to those who do follow the rules, therefore…well you know!

So? what are you waiting for? Get outside, feed, water, snap and post!

This is once again a very busy week here in my house…the kids are off for spring break until Monday morning…and I have been so busy I haven’t had much time left to blog or run around blog land! I can honestly say I can’t wait for a slower week around here…I am POOPED! lol

I am so glad to have had the chance to share my bedroom posts this week…and thankful for all that have linked in, or commented this week!

I have some very good news to share with you:

I think that spring has finally arrived in central Alberta Canada!!!

We finally got to see the sun come out and some of the snow melt away. Last year at this time, I had the lawnmower out and was getting ready to power rake the grass….funny how different this year looks here…

016

I can see my patio stones that I made for the front of the greenhouse…and even some grass- so at least it has started to melt away!!!

001

The plants in the greenhouse are loving that we finally got some sunshine! Yesterday these were very small…not much different than last week’s flaunt…but when I walked in today… BOOM! They had grown a LOT!

002

Looks like spring to me!

004

I had not just one…but TWO banana seeds sprout!!! YIPPIE!!!

006

I managed to get about 1/2 of the hanging baskets planted…they too have taken right off!

005

Just look at all the spring in this pot!

010

Everything seems to be happy about the sun shining!!

009

Got my shade hung…(sheer curtains…which may not be enough…will see…) and about 35 trays planted…look at the little forest that is coming along over there…

008

The Marigolds always remind me of a little forest when they are in trays. They were sown last Thursday…and Friday morning there were some already growing!

Things are doing very well in my greenhouse…I can’t wait to get planting the rest of the hanging baskets…and container gardens!

011

So? What are you flaunting this week? I hope spring has arrived in your area too! I just can’t wait to see!

I am going on a little road trip this weekend…Grammie and Grampie are going to go junkin’ with me!!! I am so excited…you have NO idea. It’s been a long while since I got to junk- much less get Grampie to share his goodies with me! *)

Until next time…hugs, smiles and wishes of a safe and happy weekend…see you next week when I share my junkin’ fun…happy gardening!

*)*)*) to my special three…I love to see you think of me so very often!

Hi Glenda, Happy April Fools' Day! Just wondering...I have filled in the linky but it is not appearing. It's not an April joke, is it?

It always amazes me when you look at them one day and then over night it seems like they've doubled in size! Everything seems to comming up inside your greenhouse. You have such good luck with seeds.

I've gotten the itch to get outside but have been so busy, I must get out there tomorrow!! Or else!

*hugs*Deb

Hi Tootsie! Happy Fertilizer Friday! Your plants look very happy. I really love seeing the green in your greenhouse.
Last week I had linked and when I came back to Tootsie Time, my link was gone. I re-linked.
This same thing happened this week. I'm not sure what the issue is. Something wrong with Mr. Linky, or something I'm doing?
Have a nice week and thanks for sponsoring.
Beth

Beth! I just looked and thank goodness that your link is there right now! I don't know what happened to the linky for last week...it seems that all of it is gone! I am going to have to email Mr.Linky and find out what is going on. I pay for the linky tool....so they should make sure it works! I am so sorry!

Your greenhouse is full of plants now, all ready to go out as soon as the temperature rises. I have a banana flower that looks like a lotus today. Happy FF!

All your seedlings are growing bigger and healthier. Its a bit weird when I see the banana seedlings grown from seeds because here we can get 2 feet high seedlings from some nurseries!

So nice to see grass around your greenhouse!! The contents in your greenhouse look amazing!! Love that sunshine. Hey, thanks for mentioning links being garden related, I haven't wanted to complain, it does drive me nuts when I click to visit and there is nothing garden related.

I just love looking at the progress of your greenhouse... I'm growing right along with your seedlings!

Like I said earlier, you'll have enough plants to supply your neighbouring garden nursery. Can't wait to see how you lay the plants out in their beds.

Hi, I'm a new follower from Boost My Blog Friday hop. Hope over and say hi if you get a chance http://wedemeyerfamily.blogspot.com/

I love all your plants, I don't really have a green thumb but would love to. I'm hoping to take a gardening class in the next couple of weeks (I signed up for one). How fun to have 2 banana seeds sprout!!!

Thanks for the invitation Tootsie, I am now following you back and joining the party. It will be interesting to learn about gardening in Canada, quite a greenhouse you have there.

Tootsie dear, I DID it! I said I would do it and I did. Why it is so difficult for me to get a flower post done is because I don't really have special blooms to show off...but...hey, I try! :)

Now..if I could just have a green house..I keep looking at them..but..so far..I guess all I do is wait for Spring...no great need for one here..it's just that they are sooo cute! LOVE them little houses...

I am already taking my hose and outlining where I want my patio extension to be...just like you showed us.
Love and hugs..
Mona
I am off to look closely and see what thou has growing, oh GREAT FLOWER GODDESS! :)

Got here a little late, Glenda, and I just linked. Your plants in the green house are looking so good and healthy....Christine

Hey Glenda! I posted a link & a comment earlier but neither one showed up, so don't know if I was deleted or what. I did link in both with a direct mention link and with your graphic, but at the bottom of my post. That's how I usually link in on hops - is that not okay?

Tootsie said...

It takes a couple minutes to show up..everyone is freaking out today about it...lol
don't worry...if it isn't there...I'll add you in

Kristin said...

Wow, your seedlings are really growing since last week! I would have never tried banana seeds. I can't wait to see the baskets in bloom. Got some more seeds planted yesterday but it's liquid sunshine here. No needing to shade anything in greenhouse.:(

Thanks for visiting me at Nanniepannie's. I got home from work and say your note about the Friday party...sounds like fun, I will keep it in mind for next Friday.
Thanks ever so for becoming a follower. I'm so envious of you and your greenhouse. I'll be back to nose around.

Thank you so much for inviting me to your party! I love it...your greenhouse is enviable and trust me, I am envious. I think I can finally get started in mine, I tried a couple weeks ago and it turned cold and snowy again stunting everything. I will be back next week!
