Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Sept. 2/11

Copy_of_001

WELCOME!!!! This week's flaunt is up a bit early today because I have other obligations that would make me late in posting! Happy Friday!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

The summer at my house was hectic…but this last couple of weeks have been insane! Back to school was a prep session I was not looking forward to, but we did it! My kids went back on the 1st of September. What a huge undertaking to get them all set up for that! haha.

September is upon us and around these parts that means Fall is just around the corner. We have had some cooler weather and a bit of rain in Alberta, and the evenings and over night temps have fallen dramatically. You can see evidence of the season changing daily.

I have been fortunate enough not to have been in regions of the province that have had the frost warnings… but we all know that it will not be long before I am struggling to keep my gardens fresh and free of frost damage and kill.

It won’t be long until the blooms of summer are just a memory for gardeners in Alberta.

DSCN1784

This is the view that you see when you drive up to my house. The hedge is growing in nicely…and the flowers are filling in for it while we wait! Haha

Rudbeckia is blooming like crazy in all the beds I planted it in.

The Redneck Rosarian would giggle if he could see how excited I was to find blooms on this rose. I bought it a few years ago…it was on the list of garbage plants in the local greenhouse…it wasn’t in a good way…seems happy enough to me!

My trial impatiens from Proven Winners are doing really well. I love the double blooms on this one…and the pop of color is refreshing!

There is nothing like geraniums to cheer a girl….especially in mass planting…they look so wonderful all grouped together in this bed.

I wish is had lots of time to look around at the hummingbirds as they fly from flower to flower… I have 5 or 6 of them here this year. These guys really love hanging out in the gardens.

I am sad to see fall approaching…the summer seems to have flown by, and without warning, the cooler temps are sneaking up on me.

That’s my flaunt for today! I am off to finish my list of 10 million things! I hope to get around to see you all this week…I still have a lot of catch up to play from the last couple weeks…thank you all for being so patient with me!

The details of my big announcement are almost ready to reveal…it is a huge one…so I don’t want to say anything pre-maturely!

so? what are you waiting for…lets get flaunting!

Wishing you hugs, smiles and a safe

and happy weekend…thanks to all who have taken the time to visit, comment and flaunt with me!

Until Next time…Happy Gardening!

Hello Glenda, I'm sorry to see leaves on your lawn already, now, we're just not ready for those shenanigans yet, are we? Seems just yesterday the trees were greening up for Spring and here we go again, back to snow shovels and boots.

Oh, well. It was fun while it lasted. Do you overwinter your geraniums? They sure are beautiful along with everything else in your garden. Have a wonderful weekend.

Your flowers still look sooooo good. Mine are "tired" and I'm really ready for fall. I'm supposed to be low 30's on Monday night, and if that doesn't say Autumn, nothing does! Have a great weekend, Glenda!

Still lots in bloom, but yes Fall is creeping in. Enjoy the long weekend.

Hi Glenda. You sure do have a short growing season. But a much healthier one than here. You get rain and reasonable temps so your plants don't wither and turn brown, like mine. Its always so refreshing to see your vivid colors and rich green, after looking at my drained and struggling gardens. Take care til next week!

Enjoy your flowers while you may! As for me, I'm still in my 'Butterfly on Flower' phase...posting more of butterflies and less on flowers!

Your flowers are so pretty! I am right there with you...not ready for fall yet. I've had such a satisfying growing season and I will be sad to see it end! I think gardeners all share that feeling of satisfaction you get from working on your garden. :) I do think, though, I would never appreciate the spring/summer/fall as much without the long winter!

Tootsie, your garden is beautiful. Fall is my favorite time of year. When the flowers die, God gives color in the trees.
