Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Oct. 14/11

Copy_of_001

WELCOME FRIENDS!!!

I am so happy you stopped by!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

I have been on the run …even more than usual this week…seems that the schedule is getting tighter and tighter lately, and I haven’t even had the computer on, much less post anything…BUT…I have made progress with plans for the move and things are soon to be posted on. Stay Tuned…

It’s fall in Alberta…and that means the temps are cooling off more each day. I have seen several frosts come and go…it is surprising how warm it still has been…and even more surprising is my gardens…Let me show you what I mean.

DSCN1958

The leaves are turned…and falling like crazy now…

DSCN1959

All of the usual sights and smells of fall have arrived to delight the senses…

DSCN1960

I have removed all the garden decor…and all the container plantings have been discarded….Fall has arrived…and things appear to have wound down in my gardens…right????…………………WRONG.

DSCN1961

The craziest thing about this season in my garden…is that the flowers seem to have escaped the frost!!! I stopped watering at the end of September…and yet…….All of the flower beds are still doing great!! There has been a bit of frost damage…and things are a bit overgrown, and not as lush and pretty as they were a month or more ago…BUT…

DSCN1957

This Tootsie still has flowers in her gardens…and that is all that matters. I am grateful for this extended time in my gardens…it seems almost like the garden is having as much trouble saying goodbye to me…as I am.

Thank you all…for faithfully stopping in to say hello…and for the sweet supportive comments…and most of all…for hanging in there beside me in this crazy and difficult time. I feel so bad that I have not been around to thank or comment much…or at all…and am grateful that you all have not abandoned ship because of it. I WILL be there…with bells on…as soon as I get a few minutes to myself…with which I can dance the internet with glee!

Hugs and smiles and wishes for a safe and happy weekend to you all…

Until Next Time…Happy Gardening!

*)*)*) to my very special three…in time people don't really change they just show who they have always been. I can honestly say I am proud to be me. It is not how many times you have been brought to your knees, but how you brush the dirt off your knees that makes you successful.

I can't believe you are moving. I hope you are able to take many of your plants with you so that you can enjoy them in your new home which I am sure you will have gorgeous in no time! Our fall is very warm so far too. It's weird seeing spring plants reblooming and summer plants enduring into the end of october. i like it though. every day it's warm is one less day of winter to live through. have a great weekend!

I agree ... I think your garden definitely appears to know you're moving and it's showing off as long as possible for you. Loads of great colour! We're all hanging in because we all love your company, so no apologies are needed for being so busy at this difficult time.
I wasn't watering either and my garden kept growing and blooming too!
Thanks for hosting!

I can't believe how good your gardens still look!! I think they love you as much as you love them and are sending you loads of good bye blooming hugs.
No worries about being busy..we all are at one time or another. We love you and will be here when you get a nano second to yourself! LOL
*hugs*deb
It was 101 degree's yesterday and today. My poor flowers are cooking and turning brown with the heat.
I didn't know you were going to move! That makes me very sad..

They say that when one door closes, another opens and I swear to you it is true. Fantastic things are ahead of you..you will see. I thought I would die of hurt and pain..but my life now is lovely. Warm, safe and lovely. Yours will be too. Many hugs as you move forward..

The poem in my post is dedicated to you you...after the rain, you'll emerge refreshed, and stronger.

You do indeed still have some beautiful flowers--I'm glad yours have escaped the frosts. My gardens are already put to sleep for the winter--for over 3 weeks already, so it's a treat to come here and see your pretties!
Have a great weekend, Tootsie!

I have been commenting to everyone but forgot to put some here. I actually thought you have moved and maybe you'll just be posting some new beginnings of a garden, so am amazed seeing the old plants. I guess they really dont want to part with you. Don't worry, we will watch you re-make another garden in the new surroundings. Have fun, enjoy and take care!

Funny how plants seem to know your still there and want to stay with you as long as possible . It all looks so pretty . I know your next garden will be just as pretty even prettier .With your talent how could it be any less .I'll be exited to see it next spring . LU Friend , Mary
Hi Glenda
You're leaving the place neat and tidy with still lots of colour for the new people. If I moved into a place like yours, I'd be so happy to see all the plants. Both of our houses had nothing though, so I had to start from scratch but sometimes a clean slate is a good thing.
Visit when, and if you can - we should all think like this.

Your garden is lovely any time of the year. Fall is always a favorite time of the year for me because of the colors, smells, amazing sunsets and your garden looks even more beautiful in the Fall.

I can't believe how beautiful your gardens look! All the pinks, mauves and blues along with the yellow and orange of fall. Wow. All my annuals got hit by frost last week so those containers are empty. The perennials are done too. However, the glorious fall colours on the trees are keeping things bright around these parts for now. Have a great weekend! Blessings to you, Pamela

I just found your blog today and I will definitely be back to find out more about you. I live in upstate New York, United States, and have been to several parts of Canada - but not Alberta.

Hey there Glenda! Don't you just love the intensity of the colours of autumn? I will be joining you this coming week with a few photos of my favourite maple.
The only things still blooming in my garden are the hydrangea (Pink Diamond) and my clematis (Jackmanii). Your garden still looks vibrant in bloom! Hope all is going well.

Tootsie, your garden looks just wonderful, so great to see flowers so late in the season. I think of you often, always with a smile, and hope things are going well.
