Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers June 8/12

Copy_of_001

HAPPY FRIDAY AGAIN!!!! I am SO glad to see you!
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing! You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly! All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.
So....
I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

What a LONG week. I was not around a lot to do much yard work, as I was away dealing with a few other matters of importance, therefore my gardens have not changed at all since last we spoke!

I can say that even if I was home…not too much would have been done, because the winds that were blowing were INSANE! They did a lot of damage to my flowers, breaking them a bit and causing a little wind burn to happen. They will recover…and the rain that we got was welcome.

Today I am going to share a few things from the greenhouse!

DSCN3546

Things in the greenhouse have been changed up for the summer. I didn’t have much time to do a lot…so I just set up a few shelves to put some of the houseplants on for the time being.

I also have a few geraniums in the greenhouse…

DSCN3557

I love the orange of this one.

DSCN3560

My Christmas Cactus is blooming…actually all of them are blooming right now…It isn’t Christmas…or even close to Thanksgiving…so I have no idea why they have started blooming now…seems these ones have a different calendar year than we do…they seem to bloom every three or four months!

DSCN3564

They are very pretty

DSCN3572

The Lipstick plant is blooming…I thought it was a gonner about two months ago…so this is a very good thing.

DSCN3576

Remember when I shared the cactus seeds that I planted? Well…this is one of the seeds that sprouted along with the cacti…Do you know what it might be???

DSCN3575

Yep…you guessed it…A CARROT!!! Go figure…a carrot seed in with a package of cactus seed…I have NEVER purchased carrot seeds…so I don’t know how it got there! ha ha!

That’s it for this Tootsie for today!!!

What do you have growing and blooming in your gardens this week??? I am looking forward to seeing it all!!!

I wish all of my followers hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans! Thanks for dropping in and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to finally visit you…THANK YOU!

Until Next Time….Happy Gardening!

wow you have a lipstick plant in your cold climate? It must be tasty and warm in your greenhouse! I grow it here in my tropical garden in Australia.

Making a note to get geraniums before the summer is over.

Planting out a handful of plants every day hoping to get them all done eventually. You're such an inspiration.

I guess the carrot is a bonus! The macro of the Christmas cactus is gorgeous, love the pink tinges around the edge.

Our Schlumbergeras are blooming here too. We don't call them Christmas Cactus because they bloom in our Winter which, of course, is not our Christmas time. Strange to see yours blooming at the same time.

The little surprises that pop up in our gardens are wonderful aren't they? Hope that carrot proves to be a delicious specimen. Love the gorgeous colour of your Lipstick Plant too, by the way!

Tootsie..some nice looking houseplants there. My friend's Christmas Cactus always bloomed in July, never in Dec. Love that lipstick plant. Have you planted out most of your hanging baskets and other plants..are we only see part of the GH or have you already emptied it out?

Hope the weekend brings great weather for you to be able to work outside. It's supposed to be 80 and 90's here. Yeh!

Unbelievable how much you have in your greenhouse. The orange geranium is lit up. This year, I drive with cerisa tulips. I alternate. You may rename the Christmas cactus to cactus summer. My cactus is outside on the patio. The cold makes them good. What surprised you have been when looking out for cactus and got a carrot. I wish you a wonderful weekend! Zinnia

Everything is looking great in your greenhouse. We have some very hot weather coming this weekend, not good for most of my plants.

Girl let me tell you about a pack of seeds I received from Park. It was grass seed. The area where I thought maybe that's where I planted the dianthus - you know the leaves can appear to be similar but it was grass. Really ticked me off.

Beautiful bloom on the Christmas Cactus. Lucky you to get more than one season of blooming on it. Hope things are calming down for you.

That is so funny about the carrot seed in wit h a cactus seed packet! Maybe he didn't like being a carrot as they get eaten and decided to hide and disguise as a cactus to live a safe and uneaten life!

Would you have any suggestions for plants for my front. It is mostly shade but then they area gets the hot afternoon sun for several hours.

What became of your bees? Did you keep them?
