Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers July 6/12

Copy_of_001

IT’S FRIDAY AGAIN!!!! I am SO glad you stopped by!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.
The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing! You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly! All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.
So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

I have been the busiest Tootsie in these parts this week. My kids left on Sunday for a full month!!! Getting them ready to go was a big undertaking. Seeing them off was …well…entertaining. *) tsk tsk. *) Look out Arizona!!! Tootsie’s gang is coming for a visit! ha ha

With the kids gone, I decided to DEEP clean my house and get a lot of junk out…so my house is spic and span! Just as I was about to turn my attention to the yard work that awaits me…a huge storm front rolled in and ended all of my good intentions. Heavy rainfall and dangerous winds put me right back inside…and I don’t see me getting out there any time soon to do any of the weeding or mowing…or anything!

I know what you are thinking…”in a couple of days Toots…you will be out there just working like a maniac…” Well…that is not going to happen…because for the first time, this Tootsie is going on a holiday!

The original plan was to head to California and visit a dear friend. Alas, as the departure date grew close, I received word that the plan must change. So…a very disappointed Tootsie is forced to use a back up plan.

I can’t wait to share all the photos I am taking! I am going to be away for a couple of weeks, so if you don’t hear from me…that is why.

Now, with Mother Nature hammering us with her wrath, I haven’t gotten outside to take any photos to share…as everything that was blooming that I had planned to share with you today has become waterlogged…and wind whipped into a state of SAD. So…I am taking a “time out” so to speak. For this week and next, I will not be flaunting anything new. This Tootsie is on vacation!

Today I am sharing the garden I miss so much. It has only been about 8 months since I moved away from it.

I still have this rocking chair. I should really find a place to use it in my new garden…once I get it all built!

Last year was a good year for this area.

I have planted a vine at the new place…I can’t wait until it is as lush as this one was!

I need to find my cement form…I miss my cobble stones!

Can you see the bike in this photo? ha ha

I do hope one day that my current gardens are as successful as these were!

It makes me so sad to hear from my old neighbors, that the new owners did NOTHING to keep up the yard so far…and it looks like a mess. I hear that you couldn’t even tell I had ever lived there right now. I can’t bring my self to drive past there…I would be heartbroken to see all my hard work gone to waste! The neighbors say they miss me!

This brings us to the end of my flaunt for the week. Now it is your turn…bring it on! (keep in mind, I will be away from my computer…and that I moderate all my comments, so with that being said, be patient with me…I will do my best to get online and publish what comments you leave as often as possible…but I will more than likely not be around to drool over your flaunts until I get home.)

What are you waiting for??? Get flaunting!

I wish all of you hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans! Thank you all so much for dropping in today, and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to finally visit you…THANK YOU!

Until Next Time….Happy Gardening!

*)*)*) to my three special winks….People shouldn't burn bridges and then turn around and ask for help across.

Hi Tootsie, I know you miss that beautiful garden. Your new one has the makings of a beautiful one, too. I am sorry though for the loss of the home and garden that meant so much to you. Enjoy your vacation! It's well-deserved, Tootsie.

Wonderful photos from everyone, but especially our host. All the colors were so vivid that they looked photoshopped. Sorry to hear that you miss the gardens so much...

You are on the way there Tootsie. Your last post from your garden now is already showing a great promise. I can see you still miss the old one, but maybe you shouldn't compare. They could be just like kids, one is different from the other. Whatever the new one becomes, we will love it too because you put a lot of love and energy on it. Take care.

Hi Tootsie!
Always nice to see your pictures of your garden! I know your new place will look just like your other garden in no time!! You are the energizer bunny of gardening! Thanks for being hostess of one of my favorite memes!
Miss Bloomers
This time I'm flaunting my fruit and cool treats you can make from them.

I really like the photos of your previous home. You had a wonderful garden. It is too bad it was not maintained. I know how saddening that can be, as something similar happened to me after I moved from my previous home. I know that your new home will become just as beautiful.

Sorry to hear about your old garden...I had the same thing happen except the new owners tore everything out, cut down trees and put in grass....I have never been by it since we sold it 7 yrs ago and I will never go there. Just keep focuses on your new garden...it does help

Hey Toots hope you have a wonderful vacy! Get some rest and come back refreshed! I feel your pain about leaving a garden behind-I have done that about 3 times now and it never gets easy. Especially when they folks don't keep it up! Have fun-Hugs-Carol

Glenda,

I couldn't even imagine trying to start my gardens over again. At least now you know what plants work and which ones don't :-) I was so sad to read about the new owners of your old home and how they let the gardens go. People don't realize it is a lot of work. Thank you for hosting. I'm sharing a rose with you today.

Hi Glenda. I do not have a doubt in my mind that you will have the garden at your new place looking even more beautiful than from your former garden. It just takes time. Have a wonderful weekend. Where is the gnome now? LOL!

Good morning!! I guess I missed your move, I know how hard it is to leave your babies behind. Especially to those who don't love them like you do. Time to bloom somewhere else. I look forward to seeing your NEW creations:). Have a super great MONTH off. Wow.

Hi Glenda: Your photos of the old garden are lovely. I have really enjoyed seeing the process of creating your new garden, however, and what I have seen has been just gorgeous! Unfortunately, some people don't appreciate gardening and the effort that goes into building an amazing garden from scratch like you did (Some of my neighbors are like that--their idea of a garden is lawn maintained with pesticides, and emulating the landscaping that they see at the local mall's parking lot--yuck.) My garden, even though it's not perfect, makes me smile, and that's one of the best things I like about it. Take care, and have a great weekend!

The same thing happened to my Mom's place and also a friend of mine. One should never go back to see what the new owners have done. Their values and love or dislike of gardens can be so different from ours. Best to remember the good times you had there and leave it at that. In time, I know your new gardens will be even more spectacular.

Your rocking chair is nice and it looks nice out to sit in. Your last garden is lovely once you get that you have that you want it. Even now, you have so many beautiful places. I wish you a nice weekend! Zinnia
Tootsie,
I can only imagine how you must feel to hear that from your old neighbors.
BUT..
you know your old garden wasn't built in a year and your new garden will be just as magnificent in time...
Thanks for hosting!

Hugs,
Debbie

You've just had so much going on and you've accomplished so much in such a short time. Just wait until next year!

I have to ask, what happened to Gardening 4 Seasons? I know you hardly had time to keep even one blog, but is it coming back? I am so fond of glimpses into someone else's greenhouse and seeing how they treat their climate to grow year 'round.
