Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Oct. 5/12

Copy_of_001
HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEKEND CANDADA!!!!
GET READY!!!! IT IS FRIDAY!!! FRIDAY IS FLAUNTING DAY!!! I am so glad you stopped by!
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!! Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like. The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing! You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly! All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.
So....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...
I spent this week running around getting lots and lots done.  I even managed to finally get my winter floor installed in my greenhouse.  I still need to tidy it up and maybe add some plastic to insulate it…but at least the floor is in…and it will hold heat!  It wasn’t the nicest week in this area…lots of wind and rainy cold weather for us.  I am amazed that I still have flowers…but I know that their days are numbered.  We reached a high of +7C  two days in a row…that’s chilly!
This is what things look like in my garden this week…I am glad I took the photos when I did…a big wind came and loaded things down with fallen leaved right afterwards!

My volunteer Hollyhock…still blooming and still looking quite nice under the tree beside the greenhouse.
DSCN5385
I love the deep burgundy color.
DSCN5381
I think maybe … just maybe…that the big spruce tree might be sheltering a few things from the night frosts!  (at least it is good for one thing!  ha ha)
DSCN5380
Things still look fairly good back there…at least the weeds are slowing down for me!
DSCN5407
A couple pots left by the shed…the hanging baskets are already finished for this year.
DSCN5406
Much of the pots are on the down slide now…the dahlias seem to be hanging in there the longest I have ever seen them before…I already pulled the trailing plants (alyssum and lobelia) out of the window box weeks ago…I never expected the Dahlias to last so long in the pots!  Even the bacopa in the little pot on the side is still doing well!
DSCN5419
The bed beside the steps looks fairly good …I had to cut down a lot of the Malva already…I saved a lot of seeds for next year.
DSCN5519
Soon I will be looking at ALL of the icky hardware on the back of the house again.  I am NOT looking forward to the winter “look” of this area.
DSCN5480
I managed to catch a shot of a busy little bee working hard in the Dahlia blooms…
DSCN5478
…and I thought I would share another pretty color combination ….I just love the way Dahlias color themselves!
Okay kids…that is all for me for this week…now it is your turn.,,,
What are you waiting for??? Get flaunting!
I wish all of you hugs and smiles, and safe and happy Thanksgiving weekend plans! Thank you all so much for dropping in today, and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to finally visit you…THANK YOU!

Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

Hi Glenda,

Happy Thanksgiving to you! Your gardens are still looking fabulous. The gardens have slowed down here so I don't know if I will be able to participate much longer. Thank you for hosting.

Your dahlias are just gorgeous. I am amazed by what beauty you have created at your new home in such a short time! You should be very proud of yourself.

here and I need to get out and
re do everything in the garden for

OK Girl....your garden just looks soo darn awesome!! My poor plants look like some one went around with a blow torch!
It's so refreshing to see your gardens, beautiful!
I've just been so busy, they need a drink so badly. Hoping to get some water out to them Saturday.
Have a good one sweetie!

Love the Dahlias. I will send you some of my orange cactus dahlia next spring. My hanging baskets are done since we dropped to 5C at night. It's all about the greenhouse now. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow, wow, wow. The flower hedges look very Tootsie-ish already, very beautiful and luxuriantly vibrant. I miss posting this time, as my computer did not support me last night, it was rebellious!
