Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers April, 5/13

Copy_of_001
WELCOME!

Do you know what day it is???

It’s Friday !!!!

Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol)  It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”

Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.

The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So?????....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

Spring has arrived in Alberta…SLOW, but sure, the snow is melting away!   Yay!   We are eventually going to see some spring flowers blooming in our gardens!   Just….Not tonight I’m afraid…my areas is under a freezing rain warning with a chance for a few centimeters of snow to follow!   UGH…Mother Nature is sure being coy this year!

In spite of the slow start to the spring in the gardens, my greenhouse is in full force right now, and I had to make some more room in there for the annuals to do their thing!   That means I had to bring ALL of the houseplants that live in the perfect conditions in the greenhouse, into the house.  I am loving being surrounded by lots of plants all the time, but sadly my plants don’t love it in this house.  It isn’t quite bright enough for them in here.   They will survive the short visit to the main house, and will move back to the greenhouse when the risk of frost outside has passed!

Not including the several that I have at the Cowboys’ house and the ones that I have waiting to go to the farm for Grammie and Grampie….These are my few measly houseplants that I have right now.   Take a look:
When I was young and single, if I had a little money, I buy plants. If there was any left over, I would buy food and clothing.  I have always LOVED my plants.  Some of the plants in this post are among those I purchased all those years ago!

There are 9 houseplants in this photo!   They are all over the living room window!   I love sitting in the Queen Chair and just being surrounded!   Ya…I know…but that’s me!

This is the area beside the fireplace between the living room and the dining room.  There are 5 plants here.   Again, I love this part of the room too!   I wonder why? ha ha!

This is the Dining Room window area.  I still need to move the two pots on the dining table into better places, but for the most part, I am enjoying that view  that these 5 plants gives while we eat!

This wood crate of plants lives on the kitchen counter right now…I quite love it there above the dishwasher.

026

I am quite sure that My “Busy” will be ever so happy to get Mom’s houseplants out of her room….but until then, she has lots of light…and I need it!  ha ha!

Please try to ignore the other items in this mess of a bedroom.  I am in the middle of a re-make of this room, and things are just a little messy right now!

027

I would have preferred to keep these two in the greenhouse to finish recovering from whatever it was that made them look so icky, but they are for now going to be in “Busy’s pigpen…er..I mean room until the greenhouse has a vacancy.

In total I have 27 plants inside my house right now.  If you ask me…that is not near enough…I LOVE my plants…and they make my house feel just right.   I am excited for the spring planting in my gardens, because that means I have plenty of room to grow even more beautiful tropicals in the greenhouse all summer, fall and winter long!
This brings us to the end of my flaunt for this week…and YOU know what that means!!!

That means…I can’t wait to see what you have!
Well…what are you waiting for???

GO!!!

Get your flaunt on!!!

I wish all of you hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans!

Thank you all so much for dropping in today, and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to FINALLY visit you…it seems there are not enough hours in a day anymore...THANK YOU!

Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

Ah I remember the days I had a house full of plants! But thru the years "someone" decided they were in the way. You've given me the itch to possibly start again. Your home looks so warm and full of OXYGEN!! LOL

Happy weekend!
*hugs*deb

I love the look of the lush jungle in your house. I used to have lovely houseplants especially when I did not have a garden, but these days I only have a few houseplants.

Yes Tootsie, they are all doing well in your care, even if i am sure they prefer to be in their normal home in our tropics, haha! That variegated plant at the middle of the 3rd photo (i am not very interested knowing its name) is spreading so fast at some areas in our property, so we try to cut and throw away. If only they can be fed to livestock, we will be much happier. Getting them in control is a bit difficult, and there in your place it is given special attention.

Your houseplants are fabulous, Glenda! I'm sure your loving care will make up for the slightly diminished light they have to endure for awhile :)
