Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers July 19/13

Copy_of_001
WELCOME!

Do you know what day it is???

It’s Friday !!!!
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol)  It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.

The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted.

So?????....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

The weather has been hot and dry in our area, but other areas of Alberta have seen substantial amounts of rain.  My garden would be suffering if not for the tap and hose!

Things are looking rather pretty in some parts of the gardens this week…Take a look:

In spite of the high heat and burning sunshine it has to cope with, my Hydrangea is getting set to bloom in the back yard!

The bed against the back of the house is looking full!!!
BeFunky_038.jpg
I added that garden arch as a support for a plant I have been ACHING to try growing in my gardens…
When I found some of this particular plant I was VERY excited!
BeFunky_040.jpg
Yep…it’s a Wisteria!   Supposedly a hardy Wisteria…We shall be testing that hardiness this winter…I sure hope it survives!
BeFunky_079.jpg
So far, the newly planted Wisteria is happy as a clam.  Overnight it grabbed onto the trellis side and that is something that makes me VERY happy!

My dinner plate Dahlia is blooming like a maniac.  I am a little sad that her blooms are not as large as the one I had in past years, but I didn’t plant it into the ground…it is in a pot…perhaps that is why there are smaller blooms.   Either way, it’s been putting on a great show!

That brings us to the end of my flaunt.  I will be sharing more in the coming days.  The photos you are seeing are some that I took a few days ago.  At this moment I am not at home…I am actually out of the country doing a little junkin….so stay tuned…I can’t wait to get started on some of the project pieces we found, and to share a couple fun stories with you all!

Well…what are you waiting for???

GO!!!

Get your flaunt on!!!

I wish all of you hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans!

Thank you all so much for dropping in today, and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to FINALLY visit you…I am having LOTS of issues with pinched nerves and it is difficult to type or move the mouse right now.  If I do a little at a time I get by with only a little pain, but too much and I am OUT of commission for a long time!…also…it seems there are not enough hours in a day anymore...THANK YOU!

Again, I feel just terrible that I haven’t had time to get around to everyone lately…I miss seeing your shares!
Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

Love the area around the pump - it looks great! You are an artist!!! Your dahlias are lovely. You are lucky to have a wisteria, and I wish you good luck with it. They sure are beautiful.

Oh your dahlias are gorgeous...I don't have any luck with them here in OKC. Wisteria is such a great vine...hope yours is indeed hardy. Mine has the best aroma when it blooms!

Tootsie, I'm sorry to hear you've been having some trouble with pinched nerves. Ouch! Your garden is as glorious as ever, those dahlias are electric. If anyone can get a wisteria to grow, it would be you. I love how you have transformed your new home into a blooming paradise.

Wow your Dahlia is incredible. It is definitely putting on a show. Can't imagine what last years looked like if it was bigger. Thanks for hosting this weekly party. It has been a fun thing to look forward to each week. Happy Gardening!

Hope your Wisteria does well! Thanks for hosting.

How exciting that the wisteria is starting to settle in already....and your dahlias are stunning...mine that started as tubers in the ground in May are still barely growing even with heat and lots of rain...they are hit or miss and late summer/fall bloomers here.

Yay for Fertilizer Friday. I actually got my act together enough to submit a post!!

Tootsie - your garden looks incredible. My goal is eventually have a place that even remotely resemble how amazing your yard looks. As always, thanks for the encouragement to get out there and the forum to share our pictures.

Good Morning Glenda
I sure hope you get the pinched nerves taken care of soon.. I broke my back six weeks before Christopher Reeves doing three day eventing over in Germany.. Pain is something I live with too! Your gardens as always are looking beautiful. Your love of Wisteria is another common interest. Wisteria is a plant that I planted at every home I lived in as an Army wife.... I usually moved before I ever got to see the results.. I've recently blogged about my Wisteria.. I did have four of them winter over while I lived out at Irricana..so good luck! keep in mind that Wisteria will only bloom on horizontal branches... Something I only learnt last year as my Wisteria had to grow a good 8 or 9 feet before trailing alog the deck railings so I moved it this year to the other size where it goes four feet and then out! yippeeee...
Have a great trip and I can't wait to see what you get up to next.

Tootsie, what have you got growing in the cinder block holes?

Hi there Ms Tootsie! My hydrangeas want to say hello to yours :) I have an Annabelle. ~ Your wisteria is certainly finding its way, mine is not quite a grabber yet...and still meanders, perhaps next year.

As always, the colors with which you embrace your home echo your beauty and personality ~ all ever so lovely!

I like Dahlias, but you have to dig them up in winter.. Thank Canada for sending a cool front to Maine.
I am back to normal after a hellish 5 days of 90 degrees..
Stay cool Tootsie
