Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers Aug. 23/13

Copy_of_001

WELL HELLO THERE!
WELCOME FRIEND!

Do you know what day it is???

It’s Friday !!!!
Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me…there is no one else here…lol)  It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!

If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:

If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.

The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!

You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!

All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted

So?????....I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...

Frost has threatened Alberta this week…it is WAY too early if you ask me, but Mother Nature has her mind made up that our winter is more than likely going to be another LONG one.  Sad smile

I made it into the greenhouse…and FINALLY got my baby cleaned up a bit.  I still need to go in and pressure spray everything down and make sure it is all clean and sparkling for the winter, but that will wait till I am ready to put the insulated floor back in.

The plants in there didn’t seem to mind that it was in a state of disarray for the last while…they are doing very well.   It seems that they love the new fan that I put in there last month.  Take a look:
BeFunky_085.jpg
Things are a little bit like a nice little jungle in there…I love being surrounded by plants…don’t you?
All my tropicals seem to be enjoying life…inside and outside the greenhouse.
BeFunky_084.jpg
This is the new fan. It is doing a much better job of cooling the greenhouse in the midst of the warm afternoons…When turned onto HI… This baby will blow your skin right off!  (well not quite…but it is strong)
BeFunky_073.jpg
My Banana that I started from seed is getting nice and big!!!  Yay!!!
BeFunky_076.jpg
That Swedish Ivy Nicco is all full and lush…I have had it for years, and always worry about it getting old…I might need to start a few new ones from cuttings just for insurance.
BeFunky_081.jpg
Lots of hanging plants…some which need to go to new homes…any takers??   Aunty Laura?????
BeFunky_089.jpg
My pony tail palm got a little bigger pot and didn’t skip a beat…it’s happy!
BeFunky_091.jpg
I am happy to see that the fiddle leaf fig is FINALLY over her tantrum…and is going to decide to live.  I had threatened to toss it out if it didn’t start to grow..lol
BeFunky_093.jpg
I added some tropicals to the garden this year…the spider plants seem happy growing in the petunia pots…
BeFunky_096.jpg
…I also added some to the bacopa pots in some places.
BeFunky_012.jpg
Even the seed Banana that I started for outside is happy…in spite of it’s “bestie” that hangs out under it all the time!   That’s Ginger…she is one of our household pets…
BeFunky_027.jpg
She has SUCH a hard life.   (I often have to lift her out of the way so I can water!)

Well….that’s it for me!   It’s your turn!

What are you waiting for???

GO!!!

Get your flaunt on!!!

I wish all of you hugs and smiles, and safe and happy weekend plans!

Thank you all so much for dropping in today, and to those that faithfully link in to this party…and who are patient while waiting for me to FINALLY visit you…also…it seems there are not enough hours in a day anymore...THANK YOU!

Until Next Time... Happy Gardening!

*)*)*) People that spread rumors are really just sad lame boring individuals who don't want to focus on their own pathetic lives.  Don’t forget that people talk!!!
You can look like a million bucks on the outside…but if you have an ugly heart, that is all that anyone will remember…  Just sayin’!

Everything is so healthy and big in your greenhouse. I like the idea of incorporating spider plants into outdoor planters, they provide a nice leaf contrast.
Your garden helper is rather laid back, literally!

Hi Glenda, Love your Swedish ivy and your gorgeous Ginger. Your greenhouse looks so pretty. I like your ponytail palm. Larry Conrad has one that's probably 7 feet tall. Of course, it has to be carried inside over the winter. Sorry to hear that summer is on the way out very quickly in your neck of the woods. We're in a hot spell (90s). Have a blessed day! Beth

Wow! What a lush group of plants in your green house! Let's hope we don't get frost toooo early this year...I want to enjoy the garden for a long while yet.

Hi Glenda, i am sure you get an extra doze of pure oxygen when you are inside your greenhouse, as they all look healthy and contented. The tropical plants are even nicer looking there than here in their normal habitat. I wonder what will happen eventually with the banana, if you sustain it to fruit, that is a great achievement there!

Gorgeous as usual! Your plants look so healthy and happy :) Things have seem to be moving here so doing that "hurry up and wait thing". Interspousal Transfer Deed was hand delivered by me to the recorder on Monday, takes 6 wks to get the new Grant Deed with just my name on it. I haven't received a copy of the final settlement yet, found out that takes 8 wks. I didn't know these waiting times when I started to refi the house. All seems to be a go and should close on Oct 15th. Fingers crossed I receive those 2 NEEDED papers prior to that. Ran around the last 2 days like a chicken with my head cut off getting all other paperwork gathered and ready to FAX to the bank. Then hit the snag when I called and tried to get copies of the others. Grrr
Needless to say my yard and house is a mess, looks like it ben hit by a hurricane. Everything needs to be pruned or pulled (no patience left). Poor front garden hasn't been watered in I don't know how long. It's full of weeds too. Hoping to get to them tomorrow, then water well.
Send some of your cooler weather this way! In order to work outside I get up at 5 when it's still fairly cool.
Your greenhouse fan looks like a good one. I could use it in my house directed right at me! LOL
Wishing you a great weekend
*hugs*deb

As always, I love your plants! The fig tree that I bought had dried up. We thought the sapling died, but because of the rains, the sapling sprung back to life. :)

I remember when you planted that banana tree! Glad to see it doing so well.

Frost oh my...I can't even imagine it. I have been in the garden one hour a week all summer due to work...I am sorely needed in the garden. But look at your tropical paradise in the greenhouse. I also threaten plants and they seem to respond....some are so fussy but they need a firm hand :)

Glenda, this has not been a good year for me. My Fig died, Banana too.
Most my Swedish Ivy. I think I have to much on my plate. You do such a fantastic job.

Think I'll get a spider plant this winter.

Ginger is adorable! I'm certain she's helping - in her own mind! ;) Your greenhouse looks so lush, and everything looks so happy and healthy. I bet the air in there is invigorating!

Glad to see you flaunting your own flowers this week, everything is lush and wonderful.

I even plant spider plants directly in the ground here. They play very well with others, yes. I like the variegated because the white stripes show from a distance.

You have a lovely green house and darling cat. My banana plants have presented me with some baby bananas. I must do a post about them.
