Well friends, a new year is upon us, and it is cold cold cold here in Alberta Canada. We have had freezing rains, frigidly cold weather and snow snow snow! Myself…I am desperate for spring to come, as the winter months seem to drag on at a snail’s pace. I want warm winds, spring rain and SUNSHINE!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and sent 2013 packing with a smile. I wish for you all a great year to come, filled with all the good things life can offer, including love, good health and prosperity.
In spite of the bitter weather…2014 has come in with a smile for me. I am in a good place in my life right now…busy, peaceful and happier than I thought I would ever be. It feels good to be here…as you all know, there was a time that if anyone had told me that I would be even a fraction of this happy 2 years ago, I would have told you that you were insane!
I have taken on a few new challenges this year, and I have been busy as a bee learning some new skills, and planning future projects…all of which I do plan to share with you all as soon as I can! I plan to finish sharing the 108 year old house project (as I go along…and reveal a few changes I have been making inside my own house now. I can’t hardly wait to get things finished up and share them! It seems to take a lot longer to finish a project since I moved from the city to this little rural community. If I don’t have the things I need to complete a project, the chances are pretty good that I will have to wait until I take a little road trip to a larger center to find what I need! Be patient with me…I am working as fast as I can!
Our holiday break is almost over…Fertilizer Friday will resume it’s regular postings next week… The post will be up in the early evening of January 16th!!! I hope to see you all there with bells on!!! I can’t wait to see what you all have to share from your greenhouses and gardens…
I have been snooping around in my seed catalogs at all the glorious flowers and plants that will inspire me to get planting the spring crop of annuals in the greenhouse. Oh how I do love a little dirt therapy any time I can get it!
I have also been looking back at some past posts during our little break…and have made the decision to bring back a little thing that I used to do WAY back when Tootsie Time was young…The Q&A posts! You guys remember them don’t you??? Those were the posts in which I did my best to answer questions that you all sent to me. I really enjoyed those posts…and can’t wait to get started on another one or two!
So…What do you want to know? Let me know!!! You can send me your questions via my email…or you can simply pop them into the comments box at the end of this post…I moderate all comments, so they will not be published until AFTER I put up the post to answer!
So….WELCOME 2014!!! This is going to be an exciting year for us all…and I am just so excited to be able to share it all post by post with all of you….and equally excited to visit your pages and celebrate all of your lives too!
Enjoy the last week of our holiday break kids…we are about to get our Tootsie On very soon!
Until Next Time…Happy New Year!

Glad to hear you are doing well! I;m ready to continue the old house story. Have a great week
Happy New Year to you also. Have been busy taking down all my Christmas decorations and I am anxious to get into the garden while our temperatures are in the high 60's and low 70's. The gardeners are here now doing their thing and I am having them do a heavy deadheading on my roses since we do not get a freeze here. The Huntington Art Gardens came up with a new way for roses. They do not prune way back since we do not have freezing temperatures here. So that means I pretty much get roses all year long.
Looking forward to your parties.
Have a great week.
Sure looking forward to seeing more of that 108 year old house when you get back to it. Loved everything you've done on it. Big challenge.
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year!
Can't wait to see the rest of the homestead!
In Arizona, USA, I'm still growing things in the yard though did have a few days where there was a freeze but I learn to cover things.
Can't wait for the new posts.
Thanks for sharing.
Happy New Year to you too. This year is bringing lots of changes for me too. We're wintering in a warmer climate and I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad about that lol Look forward to catching up with your posts as I get internet connection. That's the part I dislike the most lol Happy New Year
Happy new year to you and yours too. Looking forward to seeing more of that great old house in progress.
I am new looking at your blog. My Mom was the advit gardner. She is now home with the Lord. Her garden and her coking, sewing was her passion. She died at 95. I came across your comment from Pam. Then I last night passed your site to another gal.
My hubbys one sister lives in your county. Now your pictures is cute. You could pass as a sister to my hubbys older sisters daughter. Who is single and lives in California. She is a top notch in a Hospital. She also is a social butterfly with alot of singles. She prefers to not get hitched. She loves to be indepentnded. She has met many stars. Like Gorge Groonie tried to pay for her and friends supper. She said. No thanks. Her friend said do you know who that was. She said nope but he is as far as I am concern. A ladies men so not interested in his type. I can smell them a mile away. She speaks how she feels. So if you had an email. I would send a picture of your look alike. I see you don't have a email so one can contact you. I will see if I can add you next. Your blog is nice and all your postings. I will take a while to go through all. So far I like. Sorry about your st backs to have to be a single Mom of three. Now glad you are doing well and am happy. I have been married 52 years and I am happy but I am blessed as not many marriages do survive.
