Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers August 8/2014
WELCOME!
I am so glad you stopped by today. I love Friday’s…it is the start of the weekend…and…Friday is a BIG day for us here at Tootsie Time…(ok, just me really…there is no one else here…lol) It’s a big deal because it means it’s PARTY TIME!!!!
Fertilizer Friday is the day of the week than an ELITE group of gardeners from all around the world get together, snap photos, link up and Flaunt Their Flowers!!!
If you are new to Tootsie Time and Fertilizer Friday, I just know you are asking yourself…”How do I join?”
Well…it’s easy really. Here’s all you need to know to become a part of this great group of gardeners, bloggers and friends:
If it is spring or summer where you live, you need to snap a few photos of what you have growing, blooming or just love to look at that is of the plant variety…if it is winter where you live, you may post past favorite photos…or indoor plants…whatever you like.
The only criteria is that it is a plant or something growing!
You do not need to use fertilizer to participate in this party, but if you do, this is the reminder to fertilize weekly!
All I ask is that: Your post must include the logo above and/or a link to Tootsie Time, or the linky will be deleted
I would like to invite each and every one of you to join in and share your photos...
Do you ever get the feeling that time is getting shorter and your list of obligations is getting longer? Well…that is exactly how I have been feeling lately. I seem to run at top speed all day long…every day of the week and the list is reproducing faster than I can get things done!
Over the last three weeks, I have put on over 6000 km, been the maid of honor at my best friend’s wedding, and progressed significantly with my little business that I started a few months back. The kids have been to camp, been to see family, and been busy with work, friends and projects…Yes…time is flying by, and the summer is sort of looking like a blur.
My flaunt today is sort of a showing of how neglected my gardens have been over the last few weeks…I have had to do a little damage control this week, as communities in bloom are supposed to come visit my yard.
Some things are growing like as if I have been tending to them faithfully…
…Others, have taken the opportunity to get a little crazy!
Weeds and spent blooms have become more noticeable this week…I need to get out there and spend a few good days just primping my gardens!
I am so pleased at how big this baby has gotten…it is now standing 30 inches off the ground! I wish the blooms were thicker…but that will come…again.
I see weeds…and weeds…and weeds…and a few flowers…lol
I literally had to yank out the entire bulk of this bed yesterday. All that I left were the perennials and the dusty miller. The rest…well…those are pots from the back yard. Have I ever mentioned how much I detest chick weed??????
I think that next year I am going to plant a whole bunch of the ostrich ferns…and maybe another hosta or two…This bed is a disaster every year. The yard had been neglected for YEARS prior to us owning it. I feel like I am fighting a losing battle with the weeds in the front yard.
This area is not too bad…the fern needs to get tossed out…it isn’t healthy at all.
With a little deadheading, I think this area will be just fine!
I mentioned earlier that I needed to spend some time in my yard…and hopefully I will get to do that over the weekend or early next week. It has been HOT outside the last month…and that is not a fun thing to work in. Yesterday I nearly passed out while I was pulling weeds…I just got WAY too hot!
This is the end of the flaunting from my Alberta garden…I hope you will flaunt your gardens, and wow me with your blooms!
Until Next Time…Happy Gardening!
*)*)*)…(to one “special” reader who likes to lurk or leave ignorant comments) The difference between me and you is that you can kiss my ass and I can't. <3

love your bike filled with flowers. You have absolutely incredible petunias. Warm regars Zinnia
Your flowers are so beautiful and colorful! I linked up my garden, with a back link, although I got a message saying there was no back link!
Everything looks beautiful!
Nothing to share here. It is so dry and hot. I think about all that is still has blooms are the Supertunia, hibiscus and the crepe myrtle. LOL
Be sure to drink plenty of fluids and take frequent breaks to cool off. Preventing heat exhaustion is much easier and better on your body than trying to repair the damage.
We won't even discuss heat stroke -- if that happens, your garden will really get weedy. Just take care of yourself.
Everything looks pretty dang lovely to me! So nice to see all the blooms. Love the purple and blue in the front window boxes. Take care!
I bet when people stop in, their jaw must drop at the beauty of your garden. I created a monster, planted
too many flowers and plants. I can't keep up with them.. yvonne
