Fertilizer Friday/ Flaunt Your Flowers! April 9/10

Copy_of_001

Fertilizer Friday is the day when gardeners from all over the world join in and share the blooms of their labors!

If you are new to this party...WELCOME!!! If you are a regular...WELCOME BACK! Anyone can post plants of any kind...you are all welcome...the more the merrier!
Now...if you are not familiar with the winter rules here...you will be...since I have ZERO to share...my gardens are bare...I (and other gardeners in similar climates) are sharing our favorite photos from months, gardens, years gone by, or the current indoor gardens and houseplants that they have. Those who have real live beauty to share are doing just that!
I would like to add, that if you are not a fertilizer...you may still join in. The name Fertilizer Friday actually was coined to remind those of us who like to feed our greens, but forget! Fertilizing is not a must...but the flaunting...IS!
Please Publish the Fertilizer Friday Logo at the top of this post, and link into the mister linky list below. If you do not do this, you may not get as many "tourists" visiting your Friday post.

This week…well lets just say it has been a very good week for me. I spent almost the entire week inside my greenhouse. 10 –12 hours or more each day- planting my little fingers to the happy bone! Oh…it was a wonderful week. My children were away and I could do anything so I chose to go play! I was having a carefree trouble free time…until…HE showed up.001

HE showed up and immediately ripped off his scarf, threw it on the grass…and climbed a tree!!!002

Then he was sad because he could not get down…so I had to rescue him. 003

BILBO!!! WAIT!!!….but it was too late…

043

He found my greenhouse…headed right on in like he owned the place. 004

He is so happy to be almost as tall as a banana tree! (he’s really not so big-4 inches tops- but his personality is HUGE)

011

BILBO! If you plan to be invited back into my house…you will get out of that dirt! Besides…I want to plant that pot up…~~please Bilbo?~~

While he finishes in the pot (which he thinks is a sandbox I’m sure) I will show you around some of what I have going on!

038

I have planted a LOT of hanging pots…for me…my neighbor guy and my friend “Niffer” They are both wise enough to allow me to do what I want in their gardens…that way there is no fighting or crying or hitting! lol Just kidding…I’d never cry! haha036

Pots are everywhere!!! Top shelf, hanging bars…floors…

030

My large planters…There are 8 large ones so far, a two tier, and a couple of smaller ones…along with the ones that go in shelves, bike baskets…etc. Oh yea…don’t forget the window boxes!!!032

Yep…there are some big ones…but..what the heck is that you ask?033

Well…that is my Loofah! Yep..they are mad at me. BIG TIME! Some even got so mad they died! Yep!!! I transplanted them and they now look like this!

034

Apparently they do not like to get their roots disturbed! Well…they got moved…and I hope like crazy they bounce back! This…is a disaster of epic proportions for me…I am very concerned!029

Now that the pots have been planted, I have room for more trays of flowers…I used up almost 15 trays of plants doing this little task! woo hoo!!! more seeds! First I will share what I have left. Trailing lobelia…

012

Bilbo!!! What are you doing in the young Wave Petunias!!! Get out! They were too small to plant yet, so leave them alone!

031

Ever heard of an Easter Egg Plant? Me neither…so when I saw the seeds…I HAD to try them out…the blooms are supposed to look like colored Easter eggs! We shall see…035

My Marigold crop is looking like a tiny little forest…I just love it!042

A view from the doorway. Are you imagining the smell in here??? I bet you are!!! Deep Breaths…deep…FOCUS TOOTSIE!!!!

013

For Crying out loud!!! Bilbo! get out of the Geraniums!!! haha…he looks like he’s happy there! Okay you can stay for a while…just don’t get dirty.

EGAD !!! I turn my back for two little seconds…044

And the little brat is up to no good again! NO! Bilbo! That’s not blue pool water!!!! Its Fertilizer Water! (you know…Fertilizer Friday?) This was the first week…that I got to use Fertilizer on the whole greenhouse!!! woo hoo!!! That means things are growing up…but back to Bilbo here…

045

He thinks he’s pretty fancy standing on my sponge on the side of the water barrel….NO! Stop!!!046

Ya You smile…but wait till you fall in! Hot Shot!!! This is my greenhouse…not a gnome resort!047

….and he fell in…had to drip dry in the watering can….049

And climb the wall into my garden box…

.052

…and try to take credit for the new bigger pot the Jade plant got to have today…and now I am exhausted!!!

It started out such a beautiful day here in Alberta…and then the wind came, brought a few showers…which turned into rain…which turned into extreme high winds, sleet, and……SNOW! I am NOT impressed with Mother Nature…it’s April showers…not April Blizzards!!! So I am going to head into the house to see what you all have to share with me in your gardens!

Tootsie

I am so happy to know who Bilbo is! See, pays to check back! Love your little friend. So sorry you are having winter weather!

Have a good night.

I guess if someone is going to mistake your flowerpots for a sandbox, better a hobbit than the neighbors cat.

I am so worried about your loufahs, I know you had such high hopes for them, I hope they pull through.

As always, thanks for hosting this fun party.

Bilbo sure is a devil. I love your jade plant. I had one years ago. I over watered it and it rotted. I'm so sorry to hear you're getting sleet and snow. We're supposed to get in the 30's tonight, so I brought my ferns in.

I knew I had seen Bilbo out in blogland. Now you have the pleasure of his company!

I know how you feel about the loufah but with everything else looking so fab I'm sure you will refocus on all your successes.

Wow, Tootsie! I think Bilbo thought you were a garden center, and he either wanted to see about getting a job, or else wanted to buy some plants, and got sidetracked.

I usually buy plants to put in my pots, but have been thinking about putting some seeds in them. I don't have a greenhouse, but I could plant some, and just wait for them to get large enough to bloom.

What a fun post! You are certainly going to have lots of blooms!

That Bilbo is a cheeky little man! He is fun though.
I bet you are counting your blessings with that lovely green house of yours while the weather outside has turned wild again.
I am going outside to take some photos so I can participate now. Bye. Love Linda

I love that you are involved in your neighbors garden! Every time we have moved, I have made friends through gardneing. Usually it is because they try to take the insane new lady under their wing and explain that whatever I am trying to grow is not supposed to grow in this environment. I'd like to think it is my sheer stuborness that wins them over, but it is probably because I share the fruits of my labor. ;-)

Oh I love Mr Bilbo. I have three gnomes around my fish pond. They are needing a new coat of paint. Well you have your work all lined up for the spring. Can't wait to see all of those shoots grow into your beautiful landscape. You are something else Tootsie, I think the word is inspirational. Blessings

I do kind of the same thing - on the 15th of every month is 'Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day' and I post pictures of what's growing in my gardens (or around my neighborhood) at the time. Plant and Garden Blog

Is it FRIDAY allready?! Time just flies around the greenhouse.

Why don't you send Bilbo my way? I could use a few more hands in the greenhouse!

Catherine@AGardenerinProgress said...

It looks like a retail nursery in there! It must be so fun to see so much growing. Bilbo seems to be causing trouble already by swimming in the fertilizer, I wonder if it'll make him grow.
Glad you had a fun week in your greenhouse.

Lona said...

That Bilbo is getting really pushy. I think all this world travel is getting to that gnomes head. Yeap he is getting the big head. Either that or he was trying to help Tootsie. He is kind of short and could spot those white flies or aphids better. Maybe he was really trying to help. LOL!

OMG! not the loofah! I hope it snaps out of it but I am glad it has not swallowed you up yet.

Your plants are looking so great in the greenhouse. Crazy April. Mini summer to snow flurries. Go figure. I was so enjoying the summer temps though.
Happy FF Tootsie.

We got just a bit of snow...don't want it and Bobby is not liking that it has turned cold again.
I just love visiting your greenhouse and of the adventures of Bilbo. He is a cutie.
I am doing some spring cleaning...indoors only. Last night hubby had car trouble and I had to meet him in Jackson. This morning some time someone egged my car too which my hubby had drove to work today so I called him when I found the egg shell and put the two pieces together.
Take care my friend.

What a naughty fellow! Perhaps he just needs to burn off some energy after having been in that box for a few weeks! Take him out for a day trip somewhere, that should keep him busy!

Toots I need this little guy. but wait he is too small for the large job I have with all these flower beds that just look awful. How are you doing everything looks great and green. I can't wait to see all your gardens in full bloom again this year. I always envy you because your yard is so beautiful. I just never had a green thumb or finger! Have a great week-end girlfriend.

Look at him would you!!! He is going to have so much fun! Teach him lots of good things so when he comes home to me he can teach me! LOL!!!

I am amazed with your greenhouse! I have to move mine tomorrow because it is getting too hot and burning the plants!

hi tootsie, love bilboa boy he's active, yeah its friday!

Noel Morata said...

aloha tootsie again,

the names on mr linky are going to a 3rd column and being cut off in the body of your main column, you may have to widen your margins for the main column so it doesn't cut off other participants on your fertilizer friday, i can't see any of the participants on the 3rd column...hopefully you can solve this :)

Your place is so pretty. I love stopping by! I need tips. I live in Colorado and I am always fearful of putting anything out too early! I have these great planter hooks on the patio! I want to get some great hanging plants and I am debating putting my mini greenhouse up this weekend! We will have tempos in the 70s but...that darn snow is always just hiding around the corner! Hugs Anne

I just love your greenhouse. My son bought a commercial greenhouse this spring and is doing a small business selling flowers and plants with a couple of other people as a side job. I hope it goes well, at least I will purchase all my annual flowers from him.

I love that little gnome!! He's a little mischevious(sp) though..(maybe that's what I like about him. Your seedlings and lookin good..(except for that loofah plant...I wish you luck with that). So you have a trailing lobelia plant...cant wait to see how that turns out.

Oh my! The ongoing saga of The Target birdies and Bilbo...makes you wonder if they are somehow related.
I missed Fertilizer Friday this week. Just too much going on.
I think you are with your green house the way I feel about my piano... I lose hours once I sit down to play.
I think we are passionate about our hobbies...and that is so good.
I have a dear friend...and she is passionate about nothing. Absolutely nothing. We have even discussed it. She thinks I'm strange and I think she is! :)

Your post was precious..and you know I always love to go in the greehouse with you! I hope one day to at least have a tiny one.
Maybe.
Hugs...and lotsa love to you, sweet friend!
